Water sprays throughout the room as Mysari directs the swirling torrent at the creature again. The little flying things stands defiantly in the air as the vortex envelops her. Even as the bolt of ice extends out to catch her, she merely laughs. "Fools. Have you never faced a true demon before? If you can't face me, you can never hope to face Her." She then points at Milah, whose blade stands ready to strike the creature down. "Flee before my dog finds you."

Being only a foot or so in height, the tiny demon evades your arrows as they are swept away by Mysari's vortex of water. You know that if she were larger, she would have been a pincushion by now. Milah runs for the door and back out towards the altar before coming to her senses.

Aurica and Mysari's magic assault the self-made empress and she is unimpressed with the results, even as ice forms around her from the shattering of the vortex into frozen particles, slowing her some. "You have so much to learn. Cease this foolish endeavor. Become my subjects. I will teach you all you need to know and then no one will stand in our way." She waves her hand at Aurica, who starts to feel drowsy...

Aurica shakes off the sleepiness with a low growl. "Are any of those arrows made with cold iron tips?" she calls out to Maerra and Zev. "We need cold iron or the blessing of the gods to do any real damage to this demon. I have not yet learnt of Desna the proper spells to bless our weapons in such a way..."

Zev glances at Aurica, and curtly shakes his head, "No, no cold iron." . She can't help but notice the change in his demeanour, gone is the sort of vacant gaze and dopey voice, replaced with a sharp gaze and clipped efficient words.

Turning back to the task at hand, Zev sights on the troublesome demon and fires...

Erylium cackles as the magic being cast around the room has little effect on her. "I told you, you can't hurt the Empress. I am immortal. Bow at my feet, become my servants, I will show you the true path to power!" As if to emphasize her words, she simply floats triumphantly in the air, as regal as a miniature demon can look, especially with the glow of light around her.

Any chance of climbing (+7, racial) and/or jumping (+9) to a height where Milah would be able to reach Erylium with her rapier?

Let's see... you would need to reach a height of 15ft to reach with your rapier. That's a 10ft. difference. High Jump DCs are basically 4 per foot with a running jump, so that means a DC 40 Acrobatics check. Climbing the walls is DC 20 and you can take 10 since you have a Climb speed, but that will only give you a 17, but it does mean a much better chance of getting to her... As a side note, she is a difficult fight, but I'm hoping together you guys can come up with a solution... You did manage to nullify her Invisibility for the time being...

I could move the vortex over the creature and then freeze it. It would make a 2' thick sheet of ice all around it. Is the creature flying with wings or is it magical flight? If it has wings, it will surely fall to the ground and we could try to grapple it and tie it up. If magical, it may or may not work.

Going up the stairs makes her only 15ft above you. She is flying with her wings...

Maerra's shot narrowly misses the egotistical thing, but as she dodges, Zev's arrow finds its mark. Unfortunately, it isn't enough to wound her. She appears to be using Mysari's vortex as a sort of shield...Milah's claws dig into the stone work as she attempts to climb the wall. She makes good purchase and gets to the ceiling, but any further progress will be more difficult unless she jumps and the tiny demon is just out of reach...

If we get this thing back down on the ground maybe we can grapple it and tie it up. Aurica has a lousy CMB, though.

The vortex of water suddenly slows and solidifies into a block of ice. Just as it seems to slow the creature, she shakes it off. "When will you learn?," she asks. "I can not be defeated by the likes of you. This is my last warning. Leave or join Sandpoint in the flames of Her rising."

With that, she releases a dagger from somewhere that shatters what is left of the ice and then immediately returns to her hand.

Well, hold on--the CMB modifier should be 2 BAB - 1 STR + 1 serendipity = total +2. Anything else we're missing? You're not actually higher than it, to get a higher ground bonus, are you?

I'm allowing the higher ground bonus because technically you do go in a slight upward arc as you jump and frankly, this is a badass idea..

Milah leaps using her powerful catfolk legs and she can see Erylium's eyes widen as she attempts to flap her wings and get away, but it is too late. Milah's hands close around the little demon's tiny body and both come crashing down to the floor..

Milah has grappled Erylium, the rest of you may take your delayed actions etc. Milah and Erylium take 20 foot drop: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 damage.. mitigated by Acrobatics of course.

@Milah: 4 actually, but it is nonlethal damage... You ignore the first roll (the 1) and convert the second (the 4) to nonlethal with a successful Acrobatics roll, since this is a deliberate jump.

As Milah struggles with the demon, Aurica hods her rope out for Maerra to grab...

Erylium screams and wriggles in the grasp of three of you, frantically attempting to escape from your grasp. Her wings are held tight, so she can't fly away, but if she gets free, she will be able to..

Need a grapple check from Milah v. DC 14 to keep hold of her as she tries to escape. You get +4 from Maerra and Zev's help and +5 since you initiated the grapple.
