Something is afoot in Varisia. There have been a series of odd murders in a small town on the west coast called Sand Point and more recently the capital Magnimar, where even the lord-mayor was a target. A cult of serial murderers called the Skinsaw Men was uncovered and stopped. We have also received reports of more activity along the border.

I would like you to go see the lord-mayor of Magnimar. Assure him the Pathfinder society will do what we can to help him. Investigate these goings on and see if there is a common thread to all this unrest. We have a lot of interests in Varisia and would like to maintain the good graces of the government. I doubt the lord mayor will have you sitting around for long. It is a big place and inevitably something will need attention.

So how does that sound? A mission without a precise goal and with no guarantee of coin. Ha! Are you up for it?

Yes, my trust didn't extend quite *that* far... Sekkim seems like an exceedingly poor judge of who to trust. He was sure throughout the whole island module that the crazy fellow was going to turn on the party... then assuming Kaven "just got a tattoo".

The pdf of my spreadsheet I have access to is 3 months old, but it says AC 13 and I can't think of anything that's happened that would increase my AC by 5. It might have gone up one from buff shuffling, but even if I had mage armor and an extra point from dex that would only be 17. And my spell list shows mage armor as uncast. Best to assume that 17 does hit. Solidly.

Back in the good old US of A. In Atlanta last flight. Been two days of travel to get this far. Had a disastrous 16 hour layover in Incheon Korea. I can say if you get stuck at an airport it has showers, a sleeping area with actual reclining couches and a Hello Kitty Cafe.

Let's secure the other secret door in case Kaven let them know about the passages. We also need to release any prisoners that might be in the dungeon. Perhaps Fernleaf should check the room first, though. There might be something in there we don't want to let loose!

By the way... if you are in combat with a spellcaster, especially with so many of you there, someone should be Ready to strike her when they cast.

She can probably get about a quarter mile on that spell, so she can get anywhere in the fortress. Were it me, I'd go to the room with the most ogres and send them here fast. So there's probably a dozen ogres less than a minute out from our location. We need to relocate as fast as possible. Unless Vale or Jakandros has a particularly clever suggestion, offsite might be good.

As for Kaven... I think that's Vale's call, being the superior officer of Kaven, but if our leader has something to say... did we ever decide who that is?"

You search the room and cells and find nothing of value besides 6 bottles of wine worth 50gp and a bottle of brandy which is 2/3 full. The jail cells are all empty, but show signs of recent use.

Fernleaf's bombs are not powerful enough to damage the stone. Also that is your only way in the keep besides going over the walls or perhaps through the sewer.

As you complete your search Cela heals Sekkimm injured and stabilizes Kaven at -6 hitpoints.
