Sami Rackham |
Sami makes no move to sneak accross whispering.
"I can get up there quick if there is danger but I don't sneak very well."
She looks at the group.
"Maybe we just go up quickly and see what happens."
Again if no one else moves Sami heads up, gun pointed in front of her.
Blue Lucien |
Sorry guys, I loked at this the other day but got distracted and didn't get back. And I figured someone else had better stealth than me. lol
"I'll handle it." Lucien says, then forms his psychic blade and creeps into the room.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Nice. Now, which door am I going in?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Lucien creeps up the stairway remarkably quietly.
In the guard room, two goblins are snoring away as if they just passed out.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I admit, this week has been bad for me, but really I am waiting on Lucien to decide on what his next step is...
Blue Lucien |
Oh, geez. My bad guys.
Lucien relinquishes his blade, then reforms it as a large axe. He first attacks the nearest goblin, then the farther one.
Coup de grace, Greataxe: 3d12 + 12 ⇒ (1, 1, 3) + 12 = 17
Fortitude Save DC 27 or die.
Coup de grace, Greataxe: 3d12 + 12 ⇒ (3, 2, 8) + 12 = 25
Fortitude Save DC 35 or die.
The deeds done, Lucien lets his blade dissipate again glances around
before rejoining the others. "Done. Let's go."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
GM Fuzzfoot |
You find a bag hidden in the corner, containing a few half-eaten pickles.
From the tower, Lucien can see into an open courtroom (C16).
This large courtyard is open to the sky. Tenacious clumps of partially trampled grass grow fitfully here and there in the hard-packed earth, in places stained with blood or scratched with furrows. To the north, what appear to be two dead goblins lie slumped at the entrance to an outbuilding.
Four goblin dogs run free in this yard. The slavering creatures often scratch at the walls around the northwest corner, but otherwise have fun chasing each other and fighting.
Sami Rackham |
"Goblin dogs, I would think they make a lot of noise weather being attacked or not. Probably can just go kill them quickly."
If the others agree she will move in, pausing at the bag of pickles as she goes.
Pickle Check: 1d20 ⇒ 18 do they still look edible?
Sami picks up the bag of pickles, sniffing, and mumbeling to herself.
"Shame to waste a pickle or two if there still good."
GM Fuzzfoot |
Other than potential goblin slobber, the pickles are fine.
So what's the decision? I am a little less swamped now, so I can pick up the pace if you can.
Sami Rackham |
"Fair enough, courtyard last. Lets get moving, this gun will not stay silent forever. There are more door right here lets go."
She points to the other door on the north wall that has not been opened with her gun.
"Someone open it, I will keep you covered."
Tiyuvi |
"Ok. You want to go through the other rooms and buildings first? At least as much as we can without being seen? That makes sense."
Tiyuvi checkst he grip on his rapier then approaches the single door to the north. He looks it over for traps, although, from what he has seen of the goblins so far, it is unlikely that there will be any.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
GM Fuzzfoot |
This door has been nailed shut.
It can be opened with a DC 24 Strength check, or by a DC 10 Disable Device check and 1d4 minutes of work.
Sami Rackham |
"Nailed shut. Lets go to the next set east. The double door?"
Clearly she is getting antsy to move. "Going to take us from the back at this rate."
GM Fuzzfoot |
Just so I am clear, you left the sleeping goblins in the guard tower alone, correct?
Checking a few more doors reveals a hall, a stairway, and a barracks.
Six poorly constructed bunk beds, little more than hammocks slung from rickety frames, stand along the walls of this room. Each is heaped with a vermin-infested blanket and a lump of straw that serves as a frustrating pillow.
It appears these bunks sleep 3 goblins each, although there are only 6 total sleeping in here right now.
Vulpidin Iullus |
Oh, geez. My bad guys.
Lucien relinquishes his blade, then reforms it as a large axe. He first attacks the nearest goblin, then the farther one.
[dice=Coup de grace, Greataxe]3d12+12
Fortitude Save DC 27 or die.[dice=Coup de grace, Greataxe]3d12+12

I believe Lucien killed them here, right?
Vulpidin gestures silently at his companions' blades, then the sleeping goblins.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Thanks, Vulpidin. Yes - I completely couldn't find that earlier when I looked.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Lucien quickly dispatches the goblins, one at a time.
Sami Rackham |
Seeing the goblins fall so easy Sami begins to worry that her gold was wasted on the potion.
"Not the most honorable death but a death none the less. Lets keep moving."
She movs back into one of the previously looked at tower bases to check the door to the north. (C15)
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
GM Fuzzfoot |
You find a hallway with two doors. The door to the north is locked, the one to the west is not.
Lucien: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Sami: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Tiyuvi: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Vulpidin: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Sami hears scuffling and goblin voices behind the door to the west. It sounds like it might be a party.
Sami Rackham |
"Seems the time for stealth is done. Shall we crash a party?"
If there is agreement Sami plans to go in shooting.
Sami Rackham |
Sami steps to the side shifting her wait from one foot to the other. [i] Spent a kinds ransom on this silence potion, hope it wasn't a waste of money. I could live for a year on that money." [/b]
GM Fuzzfoot |
Peeking behind the door, you see this is a large throne room, decorated with hanging furs along its walls, mostly black-and-red striped firepelt skins, various dog pelts, and in some cases, what look like horse hides. Four square timbers support the ceiling, their faces studded with dozens of iron spikes, with the lower reaches decorated with dozens of impaled and severed hands in various stages of decay. To the northeast, a wooden platform supports a throne heaped with dog pelts and horse hides. Dog skulls adorn the armrests and a horse skull leers over the throne's back.
Sitting on the throne is a goblin who is laughing at the performance being played out in front of him by three goblin warriors. It looks like a re-enactment of the battle of Sandpoint, complete with some illusion magic to serve as a background. Behind the throne is a goblin that seems deep in concentration on the scene. On the other side is a giant gecko, clearly a pet of some sort.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
As Tuvali peeks in, the warchief notices him and puts a stop to the performance. He speaks.
Vulpidin Iullus |
Vulpidin peaks past the rest of the group, and, seeing the contents of the next room, decides that it would be best to prepare for combat now. As quietly as he can, hiding behind the others to disguise his actions, he starts calling on the blessings of the wind.
Trying to quietly cast bless on the party.
Tiyuvi |
Tiyuvi pauses for only a moment then steps fully into the room. He keeps his body in front of the door opening. With any luck, the others will remain hidden and obscured from sight for a few more moments. He nods his head slightly to the goblin then replies.
"Yes, you must be the great and mighty King Vomitdrinker. I was sent here with a message for you."
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
GM Fuzzfoot |
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
The goblin responds to Tiyuvi.
@Vulpidin - if you cast Bless, that will require initiative and combat will commence. You would have needed to cast it before opening the door.
Sami Rackham |
I am unclear where we are on the map but I hope this works.
Same nods at Vulpidin, her small tusks showing as she smiles. She raises her pistol waiting and nods while mouthing. Do it.
GM Fuzzfoot |

Tiyuvi |
It's not my turn in initiative yet but I'll post a little RP...
Tiyuvi opens his mouth to reply to the goblin king but before he can say anything, Vulpidin casts his spell. Tuyivi smirks. He knew that his bluff gambit wasn't going to last long anyway.
Sami Rackham |
When did I take 14 damage? That is a lot! I would have healed some of it but I cannot find where it came from.
With a smile same steps in, locks her eyes on the gecko {Is there a rider like on the pawn?} and fires using her pistol experience to cause more damage.
Pistol + PS vs Touch: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Up Close and Deadly: 1d6 ⇒ 3
The second the shot is away her finders are moving to reload.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am ok with you retro-actively healing. I think in PbP we tend to forget about such things. And the warchief is jumping onto the gecko (when his init comes up).
GM Fuzzfoot |
Actually, I think you healed before. I have both status and combat, and didn't clear the damage on this one.
Sami fires silently into the gecko, causing it to hiss angrily as Lucien casts his spell.
The goblin behind the throne starts chanting something in goblin, which seems to have a positive effect on the others. (Bardic performance)
The warriors charge with their horsechoppers, while the warchief downs a potion and leaps onto his injured gecko.
Blue Attacks Sami: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Orange Attacks Tiyuvi: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Smiling at the wounded gecko Sami gets more then a little overconfident as she quickly pulls the trigger again.
Pistol + PS vs Touch: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 1 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
The gun hammer falls and the powder lights but not in a good way as something jams and goes very wrong. Cayden Cailean this is not good.
Vulpidin Iullus |
Suspecting he will be in the thick of combat, Vulpidin slips forward and casts a ward on Tiyuvi, while keeping himself behind the more combat-capable party members.
Protection from Evil on Tiyuvi
Tiyuvi |
"Thanks Vulpidin," Tiyuvi shouts over his shoulder and he steps across Sami. Quick as a whip his rapier slashes out at the goblin in front of him but the point of the blade finds only air.
