GM Cellion |

Guiness flies out from the ramparts, over the cleared area, and out over the woods. From his new perspective 120ft away from the wall, he doesn't manage to spot any individual giants, but the area the boulders are coming from remains generally obvious. He sees occasional flashes of movement as a boulder or hand disturbs the branches. (The A, as mentioned before) It seems you'll have to get pretty close to get a clear visual on the rock throwers.

"I don't like this. First attack is almost always a feint," Kargas grumbles as the dwarf takes off. "Guiness, come back!"
Kargas would like to delay a bit longer to see if the giants get impatient and show their hand.

Kellek Zaderan |

Kellek spends his off-time finding the spells he thinks he needs for the upcoming battle teleporting off to magical learning institutions (he takes 10 on knowledge (arcane) probably to come up with a list of libraries he borrow a few spellbooks from, then takes 10 on spellcraft checks to get the gist of the new spells before transcribing them in his personal spellbook--he spends the night in his magical lodge to avoid the cost of a room). If all goes well he can teleport to the library, conduct his research and copying over the course of two or three days, and then returns barring any teleportation mishaps.
mishap?: 1d100 ⇒ 25
If he can borrow the study material this costs him 135gp, plus 375gp respectively for dispel magic, and gravity well. That includes the standard fee for book rental, and supplies.
returning mishap?: 1d100 ⇒ 80
Upon his return he sequesters himself in his magical hut to scribe spells for 5 days--his conservative guestimate for how much time he can work. He scribes following the spells: endure elements, invisibility (x2), mirror image, and teleport costing a total of 1,600gp (for minimal CL levels) because the feat Scribe Scroll (unlike Power Attack, or Rapid Shot) is hated upon. ;p
For the remaining time he prepares his current list of spells stays wherever the party is--the Whatever-the-Place-is-Called, drinks lots of his bitter boiled black brew, and paces about a lot.

”Hold the walls,” says Guiness to the troops, ”Our strike team will flush them out into the open so you get some good shots,” he adds.
(Thinking this is just a probe of our defenses, so we shouldn’t all abandon the wall, but we can’t just let them take pot shots from cover…)
”Who’s with me?”
Kellek rolls his eyes and says "If you return, let me know what you find."

Kellek remains in cover this round unless someone points out something he might want to deal with. If no one does he looks about and goes total defensive.
Kellek does have one spell active--exteneded mage armor, which ups his AC by 3 noted above, he casts it most days at breakfast and it lasts 20 hours.
Kellek waits for Kargas to return with map coordinates to a target before opening fire. Also, he wants to make sure his foes are clumped up together. A single small breach in the town's defenses offers him an opportunity to inflict maximum harm to the invaders, but just giving it to the foe might put them on their guard. This will be a long day and he plans to be as efficient as possible with his magic.

Astrid Olvirsdottir |

"Kargas," Astrid whispers, pulling on the big man's arm and pointing to the east. "Something big flying this way. Looks like you were right."

Hearing Kargas' warning as he rapidly departs, Guiness decides not to directly approach the giants, instead veering to the east to pass them at a distance of perhaps 30 feet to the side as he weaves in and out of the tree trunks and assesses the threat. Make sure to update your positions on the map when you move - I'm seeing all except Guiness still at the north gate.
While Astrid flies after Kargas, the giants close to Guiness pick up enormous stone mallets and split apart to go searching for whoever threw that hammer. Though Guiness has cover, he's not being particularly stealthy, so one of the four finds him quite quickly. The giant marches up close to Guiness (getting within 5ft) and gets ready to deliver a heavy blow with his two-handed mallet (but doesn't this round because it took him too many actions to reach you). He shouts in giant "To me! A dwarf. One of the ones Mokmurian warned us about, over here!", drawing the attention of the other three.
To the south at Tanner's bridge, the group of giants and dire bears rush across the bridge and then hop off and into the shallow water on the town's side of the Turandarok River. The water barely comes up to their ankles. It looks like they intend to head around the south side of Astrid's wall of stone and up the steep bank into the town proper.

The battle dwarf angles his shield for protection against the giant's mattock as he leaves and continues his weaving through the trees to the north. Making no effort to hide, he continues to taunt the Giants and breaks out onto the northern road into the open, another throwing hammer in his hand.
"Come on, slowpokes!" he shouts, "What did old Mumu say about me anyway?"

Not that Guiness is aware of the full tactical situation right now, but Bravo and Charlie companies should be well into raining down arrows onto the exposed Stone Giants and Dire Bears @ Yellow B...Of course, with the power disparity between them, they are probably only doing damage on a lucky shot.
Now in open air, Guiness zips down the road back towards town with the cadre of Stone Giants close behind, their pile of boulders forgotten for the moment with the temptation of a taunting dwarf not too far ahead.
Having gotten a measure of the Giant's speed, Guiness sails sixty feet along the road, saying, "That was a pretty good hit, lackey of Mumu. though me mum with a wooden ladle packs a bigger punch by far. Are you compensating for something with that oversize hammer of yours?"
Assuming the giants break into the open on the road, Guiness cries, "Alpha Company! Open Fire!" and hurls the throwing hammer he has been holding at the lead giant.
Move 60 feet to match the speed of the giants, readied action to throw once they close the distance as they move (expected to be roughly 20-40 feet away, so assuming second range increment), calling at that point for the town defenders on the walls to open fire (and maybe Colvyn or Kellek will send something useful the Giant's way as well).

Astrid's dinos chase after the rest of the giants in group B, but they're not entirely able to close the gap, ending up at the bottom of the slope up to town. Meanwhile, Colvyn fires down at the group of giants invading the town's streets a little over 200 feet away. Two of his shots stab into the already injured giant, while a third narrowly misses. Town militia members on the Tanner's Bridge wall fire along with him, but their shots fall well off target.
|||| STATUS - ROUND 6 |||||
Guiness (fly) (20 dmg)
Kargas (2 images, shield of faith, shield, freedom of movement, browgasher)
Astrid (overland flight, ironskin) + 3x Dinos
Colvyn (shield of wings, weapon of awe, bear's endurance)
Kellek (mage armor) x2
4 Stone Giants (10 dmg) @ Yellow A
2 Stone Giants (74 dmg, 4 dmg) and 3 Dire Bears @ Yellow B
4 Stone Giants @ Yellow D (waterwalking)
Group Buffs: Hunter's blessing vs giants and urban, bless, moment of greatness, resist fire 20

Kellek Zaderan |

Kellek triple moves, and targets the four waterwalking giants with his intensified fireball (he has an 880' range with the spell) spending an arcane reservoir point on increasing the caster level by two (to 13--he gets one level from his Varisian Tattoo feat). He of course tries to target as many as he can within the 20' radius of effect.
"BOLA DE FUEGO GRANDE!" **KA-BOOOM!!!**
intensified fireball CL 13, Reflex DC 19, hunters blessing (not sure if this works on spell damage): 13d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 1, 5, 3, 5, 4, 3, 6, 5, 1, 5) + 2 = 51

Astrid Olvirsdottir |

The spell just says "damage," so I think it would apply, but I'm not the GM!
Astrid soars through the air, moving to intercept the group of giants already in town.
Double move.

GM Cellion |

Seems reasonable to me, you two.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

1d6 ⇒ 6 1d8 ⇒ 4
1d6 ⇒ 1 1d8 ⇒ 8
1d6 ⇒ 2 1d8 ⇒ 1
To the north, giant team A continue their full-speed run for the walls. They make it most of the way there as arrows fall around them and on them. One militia archer gets a lucky shot in against the already injured giant. (They're still 30ft from the wall)
In town, giant team B runs away from the dinos and toward the south the get cover from Colvyn behind a building. Their dire bears are less disciplined. While the giant's get some cover, the bears are largely in the open nearby, roaring and chasing in the direction of whoever they find.
To the south, giant team C rushes across the rest of the river and finds a bit of cover among the town's buildings.

Kargas Stormscar |

Gritting his teeth, Kargas wings his way towards the middle group of giants, rapidly closing the gap while they take cover among the buildings.
Double move, not enough to get him all the way. He'll be about 20ft in the air and close enough to cut 'em up next turn unless they run away again.
Buffs: 2 images, shield of faith, freedom of movement, browgasher, hunter's blessing [giants/urban], bless, moment of greatness, resist fire 20

Guiness settles firmly onto the center of the defensive wall directly in front of the stone giant’s charge. Encouraging his infantry, he says, “Alpha Company, one more volley then switch to weapon and shield to receive the enemy. Remember what I taught you.”
His hammer bursting into flame, Guiness seems to root himself into the very rock of the wall, the picture of a dwarven defender. He casts a glance toward the mage and points the now-flaming Dragonfist at the group of incoming giants, saying, ”Do you have another fireball up your sleeve, Kellek?”
Getting the rest of the way into place and drawing Dragonfist, then willing it into flame. Also activating Defensive Stance round 1 of 12 (144 hp, +2 AC, Fortitude, Will)

Are the bears close enough that the parasaurolophuses can reach them for an attack or trample?
