The bears and Giants in that group approx moved another 60ft southwest, so the dinos are too far away (120-150ft by squinting at the map).

Astrid Olvirsdottir |

Okay, so then a double move should get them *almost* there.
Astrid follows after Kargas, but falls behind with her slower pace. Meanwhile, the dinosaurs thunder up the slope in pursuit of the giants and their bears.

GM Cellion |

Most of you reposition, with Guiness taking up a defensive stance and Kargas and the dinos (separately) in hot pursuit of their quarry.

(25 bludgeoning after DR) Gestures from one of the two giants send the dire bears in the direction of the dinos. The bears close most of the distance with the dinos but stay out of reach. The two groups of beasts face off - 3 on 3.
To the south, group D rushes through the streets, trampling any poor soul they come across (which is mercifully, almost no one). Arrows from beta company rain down around them, but don't manage to cause any significant injury.
Guiness notes that the dragon has wheeled around to the north of town and appears to be making its final approach. It's merely seconds away!

Guiness is gutted by the sacrifice of Alpha Company. and he calls, "Sandpoint will remember you!" to those fighting and falling by his side.

Kellek Zaderan |

His hammer bursting into flame, Guiness seems to root himself into the very rock of the wall, the picture of a dwarven defender. He casts a glance toward the mage and points the now-flaming Dragonfist at the group of incoming giants, saying, ”Do you have another fireball up your sleeve, Kellek?”
*sigh* "I can't leave you alone for a minute can I, Guiness?" He reaches a hand aound his back and the little man who lives in his pack frame hands him his scroll of flying. He reads it aloud and beings floating back across town to alight upon the roof of the building behind him to get a clear view of the situation at the gates.
Reach for scroll from haversack as a move action, read scroll, next round float upward and toward peaked roof see arrow to see over the far wall. Cast a CL 13 with tattoo and arcane reservoir wall of fire 20' tall wall of violet flames (orange dotted and dashed line) running along 2/3rds of the wall (260'), facing outward, starting at the norther cliff edge next to the gate and then running south following the contour of the wall.
The wall of fire ignites along the section of wall nearest to him and then flares like a lit fuse all long the wall heading north to the cliff engulfing the giants before the gates. Again, I'm not quite sure about the damage from hunter's blessing, but it is included below.
wall of fire CL 13 fire damage: 2d6 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 13 + 2 = 25
It will last 13 rounds if Kellek doesn't concentrate on it (which he will almost definitely not). Note: this will interfere with Guiness's aim.
"GUINESS! THE DRAGON!" Kellek shouts and points.
Scroll and spell use noted. I put Kellek at about 25' up but I'm not quite sure how tall the building attached to the cathedral he's planning on landing on is (see map for projected flight path).

Most buildings in town are only one or two stories. Lets call the one next to the cathedral two stories so you have a good enough vantage point.
Guiness lands several good hits, slamming in with his hammer and shield, before following with a headbutt that lands right on the adjacent giant's forehead. The giant falls back a step, momentarily dazed. Just as it does so, a wall of flame springs up, burning the whole group of giants at the north edge of town!
Colvyn's arrows thud into the already injured giant at B. It grasps at the shafts for a moment before falling into a pool of its own blood.

"This is taking too long, we need to kill them faster."
"Now that they've stopped running that can--hrrk!--be arranged," Kargas grunts as he's clipped by a boulder, gritting his teeth as he feels at least one rib fracture. With a defiant roar the half-orc plunges past the brawling bears and dinosaurs, down towards the giants!

"Charge!" Astrid commands her dinosaurs, and the terrible lizards storm forward, stomping all over the bears.
Considering the creature sizes involved, it's a bit screwy without a map, but assuming the bears and dinos are all lined up then I think the 2 on the outside should be able to cross paths and trample all 3 bears, while the one in the center would only be able to trample 2. I'll let you decide how that works.

Targets can make at AoO at a -4 penalty OR attempt a DC 21 Reflex save for half damage. The dinos will try to move out of the bears' reach so they can get another AoO when the bears counterattack.
She next turns her attention back to the oncoming dragon, frowning as it shrugs her spell off. "That usually works better," she mutters to herself, before casting another spell, on herself this time.
Casting divine favor.

Just four inches over five feet tall and standing on a ten foot high wall, Guiness strains to see over the top edge of the fifteen foot high wall of fire. He looks at the retreating giants and tries to intuit if they are headed back to throw more rocks from cover or if they plan to re-engage him on the wall...
Sense Motive or Profession Soldier (both at +5): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
If he thinks they are headed out, Guiness will take flight and make best speed towards the dragon (double move). If he thinks they are coming back, he will ready to strike them as they return (staying in his defensive stance, ready hammer). If he is unsure, he will hesitate for a moment, preparing to fly towards the dragon if they leave and stay if they start heading back (readied action to fly towards the dragon--single move--if the giants keep moving away on their turn).

Colvyn "Slick" Dashtail |

Pretty sure it doesn't make a different, but being hasted, I had a +1 on the reflex save.
Colvyn empowers his bow with lightning as he aims at the same giant that Kargas just charged. "Astrid, do you think your dinos can deal with the bears? Kargas, the dragon is here. Go for it." He looks toward the group south of his position. "I'll try to slow those down."

The bears don't think to dodge as the dinos come trampling in. By the time the dinos turn back around, two of the bears are collapsed and bleeding out, while the third is barely standing. For their trouble, each of the dinos sports another minor claw or bite wound.
Colvyn's flurry of arrows sails half-way across the town to fall upon the giants working their way through the streets. At this distance his aim isn't quite as keen, and only one arrow finds its target.
To the north, Guiness anticipates that the giants will look to bypass the fire wall. He notices them scoping out the non-burning portion of the wall to the south, as well as the height of the cliff to the north. They don't seem to be eager to brave the flames and scale the wall, and they're not reaching for their rocks. Seeing this, and knowing it'll take them a long time to go around, Guiness heads for the dragon. (I've moved you)
True to Guiness' guess, the northern group of giants starts heading south east to bypass the flames. In the center of the town, the remaining bear rushes in toward the three dinos, earning opportunity attacks that finish it off. The only remaining giant in group B swings his mallet in at Kargas. Two swings obliterate the bloodrager's remaining images, but leave the giant dangerously overextended.
To the south, the giants continue and are engaged by Ameiko and Rig from afar. The two send a trio of arrows at the already badly injured giant and take it down.
The red dragon flies straight southwest, dipping a little lower for a moment before it unleashes a massive wave of flame from its open maw. The flames wash over Sandpoint Garrison and the neighboring buildings. While the garrison is sturdily built and doesn't sustain too much damage, the houses are instantly engulfed and catch on fire. The dragon does a swift barrel roll, seemingly enjoying itself.

Knowing that he has a tremendous speed disadvantage against the dragon, Guiness tries to set himself up ahead of the dragon, expecting it to come around for another pass. He makes best speed toward where he thinks the return path of the dragon might be, so he has a chance to charge at it hopefully later.

Kargas Stormscar |

Kargas slashes at the obstinate giant, hoping to dispatch it quickly and turn his attention to the dragon. "Two more groups of giants still...but I think we need to deal with the firedrake first," he announces as fresh columns of black smoke rise from the burning houses ignited by the dragon. "Are we ready?"

No idea if that will do the trick, but I doubt it. If not hopefully Colvyn & Astrid can help out!

GM Cellion |

While Guiness repositions, Kargas' first swing chops into the giant's torso. He pulls his blade free and for a moment it looks like the giant is down for the count, but the bulky fellow manages to stay on his feet. The giant also blocks the followup attack.

GM, just wanted to make sure you saw my question about the dinosaurs' HP and DR.
With the bears down for the count, Astrid sends her dinos charging in against their handler, trampling the giant underfoot. She herself remains hovering over the battlefield, watching the dragon nervously even as she uses Pulura's blessing to heal her summoned troops.
Fly to Hover: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Channel: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 2, 5) = 14 The Divine Heralds feature lets me use channel to heal my summoned creatures at any range.

GM Cellion |

Ah, I forgot! Yes, the damage I listed failed to account for DR, so each of the dinos took 10 less damage.

Kellek Zaderan |

Kellek casts mirror image and flies into cover.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
To the north, Kellek gains a quintet of duplicates.
Further to the north, the squad of giants at A continue their trek to avoid the wall of fire. All the way to the south, the 'D' giants push through the streets, emerging into the large square in front of the harbor. With the other exits from the town rapidly cut off, a large crowd of townsfolk have retreated here in an attempt to take any floating escape route available. Unfortunately, most ships and boats moored here were not ready to sail at a moment's notice, and so most of those people are still here. Screams rise at the sight of giants. Arrows from Rig and Ameiko pepper the giants, but do little to distract them from their new-found prey.
The red dragon swoops through the streets, sweeping up a fleeing local with its jaws before delicately piercing the man with its teeth. It seems to be taking care to prolong the man's suffering. It beats its wings to rise back up to 50 feet of elevation.
From his new position, Guiness happens to be perfectly located to spot another group of giants clambering up the cliffs to the north end of town. They haul themselves over the ledge and climb to their feet. Of the three in this new group, one is clad in bone-draped leathers that seem to signify a higher importance. He raises an enormous pick in one hand and points it toward Old Light. The other two giants with him nod, drawing their mallets.

Getting as close as he can to the dragon, Guiness is relieved to see Kargas coming from the other direction, though he is concerned about the townsfolk vulnerable to the giants to the south.

With one group of giant down, Colvyn start heading toward the group to the south. He heals some of his wounds on the way and recast one of his spell. He then aims for the most wounded of the bunch and sends an arrow flying. "Hey you! The weakling over there. Can't fight real warriors, you have to aim for defenceless villagers. Real brave of you!"

GM Cellion |

@Guiness: Since you can't run while flying with the fly spell, and the dragon is 270 ft or so from where you were last round, I don't think you can make it there this round. I've moved you back to 80ft from your starting spot.
While Guiness and Kargas converge on the dragon, Colvyn sends an arrow across town at the southern group of giants. A tough shot at this distance, he sends it into the roof of a nearby building instead.

Kellek double flies across the street and into cover (chimneys, second floors, etc....) attempting to stay in sight of Kargas and about 50' back. How high up is the dragon?

GM Cellion |

The dragon is 50ft up from street level.
The two giants at E and their leader rush along the shoreline, running at top speed.
The dragon spots Kargas approaching and swallows its current prey before bellowing in draconic "You protect this town, worm?" It wheels about and then dives toward the bloodrager. Or almost toward him - it flies past him and snaps with its jaws on the way! The teeth close around Kargas' leg and tear before the beast's momentum takes it away. Kellek Zaderan |

Kellek flies upward at the dragon. He gets within touching distance somewhere he thinks might be awkward for the dragon to reach and then casts his dread curse on the monster.
As he gets in close how big in game terminology does the dragon look?
Concentration (DC 23, cast defensively, I'm not sure he needs to do this because of invisibility, but here it is just in case): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
touch v dragon (bless, +2 from being invisible): 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22
CL 10 vs SR? (Again, I'm not sure if you need this): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Bestow curse--Will save DC 21 (DC is +2 due to arcane res. He's using the "bad luck" second option: -4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks.) Basically, this is all to get his saves down, though the other stuff is useful too.
Kellek suddenly appears standing in the air next to the big red dragon! So close in fact that he has one hand on it!
The dragon spots Kargas approaching and swallows its current prey before bellowing in draconic "You protect this town, worm?"
"Don't forget about me, wyrm." replies Kellek in Draconic.

GM Cellion |

The dragon looks to be huge. Quick update in case this affects anyone else's actions.

With the dragon flying so quickly away, Guiness finds himself much closer to the giants running along the cliff's edge than his intended target. Not knowing for sure what the stone giant leader was intending, Guiness was sure it couldn't be good, so he makes a snap decision.
Diving down as silently as he can towards the chief stone giant, Guiness gathers all the momentum he can and bowls into him, hoping that at a dead run the giant may not be expecting such an impact and be pushed over the edge of the cliff! With no illusions of his survival capability alone against three giants, the dwarven warrior continues through his cannonball maneuver--hit or miss--out past the cliff over the water before preparing to arc back towards the fight with the dragon.
Charging/Diving bull rush (160' movement) attempting to blindside the stone giant leader and push him off the cliff, moving with him and flying off over the water.
Bull Rush + Charging + Blooded + Bless + Hunter's Blessing: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 38

GM Cellion |

@Guiness: Just checking, what's your 160' movement from? Shouldn't you be 80' for a charge? Not a big difference to the outcome, as you can't continue a charge through someone. Knowing that, let me know if you want to adjust your action.
Waiting on Kargas in any case, since Kellek's in a bit of a spicy spot.

Sure. Guiness was up about the Dragon’s altitude (50 feet) to try and engage with it, but decided to dive to ground level at the giant. While not straight down, it is diagonally down. From the spell, going down is double speed, so I just tried to evoke the visual of dive-bombing. Totally up to you on how to adjudicate the actual total speed, but I see him headed down in a silent-but-deadly dive bomb, trying to knock the giant over the edge, and pulling up (hopefully) before he hits the water himself.
“ The subject can fly at a speed of 60 feet (or 40 feet if it wears medium or heavy armor, or if it carries a medium or heavy load). It can ascend at half speed and descend at double speed, and its maneuverability is good.”
The bull rush allows you to do it at the end of a charge and move with the creature you push, so I was hoping he would either miss or hit hard enough to knock the Giant off the cliff and move with him (not falling himself since he is affected by the fly spell)
“ You can make a bull rush as a standard action or as part of a charge, in place of the melee attack. You can only bull rush an opponent who is no more than one size category larger than you. A bull rush attempts to push an opponent straight back without doing any harm. If you do not have the Improved Bull Rush feat, or a similar ability, initiating a bull rush provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver.
If your attack is successful, your target is pushed back 5 feet. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD you can push the target back an additional 5 feet. You can move with the target if you wish but you must have the available movement to do so. If your attack fails, your movement ends in front of the target.”
If the giant sees Guiness coming he gets an AOO, and if Guiness fails to push him, he will end up adjacent to the giant and in very big trouble, but I am hoping that since the giant is running it may have some penalty to being pushed from the side
If you rule that Guiness must stop when he gets adjacent to the giant regardless of the success of the bull rush, I will chose a different action for Guiness.

To the north end of town, the giant leader shouts "Ha, what? A flying dwarfie? Come 'ere!" as Guiness zooms in. He sets up and swings his pick at Guiness as the dwarf gets close. The spike of the pick pierces the dwarf's side, but fails to slow his momentum. (Dealing 30 dmg) The impact of Guiness' body throws the giant off balance. He stumbles and then pitches over the edge. His body falls end over end and impacts the sand of junk beach 80 feet below.
Kargas delivers a precise slash against the dragon, cutting a significant bleeding gash. The dragon's hide proves tough enough to protect against a potentially even more grievous wound (doesn't confirm).
To the south, two of the giants wade forth, grabbing additional townsfolk. The third takes the man he grabbed and stuffs him into his sack before turning to start heading back out of town.
To the north, the giant leader scrambles rather quickly to his feet and stows one of his picks, readying himself to climb up the cliff. Meanwhile, the other two draw small boulders from their pouches and toss them at Guiness. One of the boulders clips Guiness, almost knocking him out of the air (25 dmg after DR)

Teeth pierce hard into his flesh, nails lacerate him, and the final tail strike sends him body tumbling. (70 total damage after applying DR 4 times) Kargas is almost torn to shreds, but his sheer raging determination keep him alive, if not conscious. (Luckily Raging Vitality is an all star. By my tracking you're at -12 HP) The dragon unleashes a deafening roar, bloody and satisfied.

Kellek Zaderan |

So questions: Was Kargas flying when he charged the dragon/when the dragon hit him? If so Kellek spends a point of arcane resivoir to dimensional slide 100' straight up. He then Readies to cast a spell that only really had maybe a 50/50 chance of working if the dragon had a -4 penalty to it's saves--gravity well.
Kellek blows raspberries at the dragon from a 100' up from where he was just floating.
"Dragon" he says, "I am laughing at the superior intellect."
The trigger to cast is the moment that the dragon approaches to a point that it is just 5' outside of its longest melee range. ;)

(Noticed the first 30 point hit didn’t have a comment about after DR, so may need to add 2 hp back)
Having paid a hefty price to stall the giant leader’s advance, Guiness wheels around to the east to put the solid outcropping between him and the two stone giant boulder throwers. Staying below the edge of the cliff to get full cover, the heavily-injured Dwarven warrior prepares to shoot across into the town at ground level, staying behind buildings as he approaches the dragon battle.
80 foot double move maintaining altitude; planning to use building cover at ground level next round.

Astrid's dinosaurs continue their headlong charge toward the docks, while she herself flies after Kargas's falling body. Realizing she won't make it in time, she reaches over her back and releases her familiar. [b]"Fly, Muninn!" she commands, infusing the tiny bird with one of her strongest spells. Moving, then sending Muninn to deliver a touch spell to Kargas with a Run action (which should be about 200 feet).

Yep Kellek, Kargas was flying when he charged the dragon.
Yep, you got it Guiness. I missed the DR this time. One of the reasons I try to always mention when I'm applying it.
Astrid, just to confirm, are you sure you want to send Muninn into the dragon's reach area in order to deliver a touch spell on Kargas?
Kellek instantly teleports up 100 feet, well out of the dragon's reach. Guiness repositions, breaking the line of sight of the two giants remaining at E.

I think I was going more off the map (and assuming Kargas would fall out of its reach). Cause, yeah, sending my tiny bird straight into AoO territory is not intended. I'll post a do over in the morning, if that's okay.

GM Cellion |

Yeah, map's a little abstract, but Kargas had to get within 5ft of the dragon to work his falchion magic. So his body is still currently within 5ft. You can absolutely revise your post.
BTW: I'm taking the more player-favorable interpretation of the interaction of the fly spell and unconsciousness (you stay floating in position even though you're not making hover checks), as the alternative is Kargas immediately plummeting 50ft to his death.

Astrid Olvirsdottir |

That is much appreciated. Sorry for my reading comprehension fail! Question: could I use my Heaven's Leap hex to teleport Kargas to me? The spell it's mimicking says they have to be on solid ground, but I think that's intended to stop you from teleporting someone off a cliff.

GM Cellion |

It's pretty explicit that it needs to be on solid ground for the destination. However, we can say the roofs of the buildings below Kargas are 30ft away. When I get back this evening I'll also adjust Kargas' position - I missed that he hadn't moved himself on the map after making his charge.
