I think 6 hours of sleep a night is fine (when we are in the woods). then we can honestly say we like sleeping in towns better.
Or we can simply say that to get the eight hours us 3, me , Garrasay, and stein each take a watch. with the extra 2 hours are when yuki and gavania set up camp and break it down, cook breakfast, etc, if your a stickler for the whole 8 hours thing. while all three of us nab the extra 2 hours sleep.
I've always not really cared about the exact time period as long as there is a "plan" in place for the night.
GM Deadly Secret
Um yes, I'm going to be a stickler about camping.
In order to recover HP or Ability damage, you will need to sleep for 8 hrs.
Magic: For classes that prepare arcane spells, rest is extremely important. If rest is interrupted, each interruption adds 1 hour to the total amount of time the character has to rest and the character must have at least 1 hour of uninterrupted rest immediately prior to preparing spells. If the character does not need to sleep for some reason, he still must have 8 hours of restful calm before preparing any spells.
Some spellcasting classes, particularly divine spellcasting classes such as clerics, druids, inquisitors (and others), do not need to rest to regain spells but instead regain spells at a set time each day regardless of rest.
Yukiharu
Giving a few blinks as the spell wore off Yuki gained his agency back. Whipping around he looked for the source of it, until he noticed things had already started to calm down.
As they discussed options for watch and rest he would pull out his bedroll onto an open and ‘clean’ patch of ground; meticulously making sure it looked perfect, before telling the other, ’My little friend and i will be right back.’ He leaned down and whispered something to his fox companion before being chased off behind a few trees.
The sound of snow being stepped on could be heard before a pair of foxes came bolting out of a brush. They circled around the feet of the others as they seemed to chase one another before swiftly bolting into the bedroll previously placed onto the ground. The bedroll bumped and tossed a bit before the pair popped their heads out and stared at the others.
Yukiharu
I would be up for questioning and possibly letting them go. Maybe they were patrolling and defending? That said they might be willing to finish the job if they are let free, so if they have to die then that’s what has to happen.
As for sleep, i can go without full sleep; i haven’t used any spells and i’m okay with what i have. I’ll take a look at rules to see if i can switch current spells, but worse case i’ll still be fine.
Steinolf Stone
Steinolf would be good with questioning them, but letting them go could lead to future issues. Steinolf could take any watch that is needed. I don’t have darkvision or anything, but would want to set up some kind of fire if possible.
Perception during watch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Survival set up fire: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Gavinia Hornsten
Ok, let's get this sorted:
1. take the fairies. I saw at least 2 people with rope, so we have enough. Stabilize them if necessary (although I think by the time Stein and Yuki recover and we work out if we're taking them, they'll have had to stabilize themselves) Break their shortbows (they're chopstick sized at most), then bury their weapons or just throw them randomly into the woods as we walk.
2. Tie them to different trees, Steinolf has best CMB, so escape DC is 24 - unless they have regen or something, they'll most likely still be below 0hp and staggered if they regain consciousness so they won't be trying much if they do escape somehow. I'm going to assume blue = cold-resistant so they should be fine with the cold.
3. Do 3 four hour watches tonight - we're camping early so we've got time. Highest perception watches alone, low perception on shared watch.. so:
Watch 1: Steinolf (+4)
Watch 2: Garrasay (+2), Mordred (+1)
Watch 3: Gavinia (+3), Yukiharu (+1)
Watch Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Garrasay
Not to complicate things, but Garrasay being a spellcaster has to be on watch 1 or 3 in order to get the 8 hours continuous uninterrupted sleep. That being said however, Petal doesn't need to sleep at all and will join in each shift with his +1 perception roll with low light vision to all three watches, rustling loudly if he spot anything.
Garrasay watches the cavorting foxes with interest. "Mmmrrrr. Are you a druid yukiharu? Perhaps tomorrow you could commune with the local animals and see if they can tell us anything.
Garrasay takes up his position in the watch schedule.
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Petal's perception watch 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Petal's perception watch 2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Petal's perception watch 3: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
During the first two shifts Petal is diligent in keeping an eye out, but on the third shift with Yukiharu and the fox Petal gets sulky and curls up in a little flowery ball beside Garrasay refusing to help out.
Gavinia Hornsten
ah right, swap watch 1 and 2 then.
so
1. Garrasay (+2), Mordred (+1)
2. Steinolf (+4)
3. Gavinia (+3), Yuki (+1)
Gavinia Hornsten
I think there were enough votes for questioning them at least, so what I said in the earlier post. Break their bows, throw their other weapons away, bring them to the campsite, Steinolf can tie them to trees. If they regain consciousness, they'll probably still be below 0hp and staggered, so it'll be risky for them to try anything. Garrasay and Yuki have Sylvan so I'm assuming we should be able to question them in the morning if they don't speak Common.
_Mordred_
Perception: 20 + 1 = 21
"I'll take care of it.. There is no reason for anyone else to share this burden." Morde looks at the others after questioning. If no one objects he will take teh tied fey away from the group to be executed. Morde takes no pleasure in this solemn duty and tries to make it as painless as possible with a quick two handed chop of his axe to their heads.
"I want a couple of their arrows for toothpicks and floss." Always one to take care of his hygiene Morde takes at least a couple of arrows and one tiny bow.
Steinolf Stone
Steinolf will help tie up the little creatures. Not knowing anything about them, Steinolf shares a few ideas; “If we are going to wait until morning, we should try to keep them from getting much sleep. Those of you who cast spells keep talking about how you need a certain amount of sleep. Maybe the powers these creatures were using won’t come back in the morning if we keep them sleep deprived. They also might not be as sharp in the morning that way and could let information slip...”
Pulling in closer to the group not wanting the creatures to hear incase they are awake; “Whatever happens with the questioning, these things need to be killed. They are foreign predators that are damaging these lands.”

The location is The Border Wood - Trail 6:30-7 pm
Perception
Yukiharu 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14, familiar n/a
The party sets up camp and starts their watches at 7 pm. It is very uncomfortable to sleep in the snow. You did your best to create a shelter for yourselves at the base of trees. You think to yourself that investing in a tent will be a good idea if you have to sleep like this again. Though sleep was rough, you will get your full nights rest.
Due to being in dangerous territory, there are chances of random encounters. I will be rolling those chances in secret. Your perceptions are for those possible encounters. If there is something specific you'd like to do during your watch, please specify. This will influence what occurs during your watch.
Though it is not that difficult to build a fire in the snow, it is rather hard to keep a fire going while it is actively snowing non-stop. This is a painful part of the RoW campaign that we will kinda hand wave a little. I will assume you are doing your best to keep the fire going. The nights are also very cold, ordinarily we would be rolling fortitude during this time as well but I will assume you just warm off the non-lethal as sit by the fire. If you don't sit by the fire, you will need to let me know because you will get cold and will have to roll.
Any non-lethal damage you took from the cold earlier will go away when you start to warm up at the fire.
Watch 1 passes without incident. Garrasay and Mordred do their best to prevent the fey from getting any rest.
Watch 2 passes without incident, but at some point during the watch Steinolf does hear a hooved creature pass by the camp about 60+ feet way. It didn’t seem to approach or stop. Steinolf does his best to prevent the fey from getting any rest.
Watch 3 passes without incident. Gavinia & Yukiharu do their best to prevent the fey from getting any rest.
You wake up at 7 am. Those who need to prepare spend 1 hour preparing. They fey look really tired and annoyed.
The date is 4713 AR on Fireday, 18th Earstus at 8:00 am - current moon cycle: waxing crescent
The location is The Border Wood - Trail
After you prepare and pick up camp. What would you like to do?
I think you planned to talk to the fey?
Gavinia Hornsten
After checking that at least one of us can communicate with them, let's start with the following questions:
* why did they attack us?
* who kidnapped the lady and where did they take her?
* what's causing the cold weather?
Depending on how they answer, I might be more inclined to let them go or at least not kill them.
Intimidate would be the appropriate skill, given that we've had them tied up all night. I'm rocking a -1 though, so I'm won't do main roll. Will attempt to assist though.
Intimidate assist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Gavinia Hornsten
I restore 1hp from sleep. Yuki's damage was from cold weather, so I think everyone back to full health except me. I use one of my regained spells to cast CLW on myself. Still got 1 spell left (Bless) which can be converted to a cure.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Yukiharu
As the sun crept up Yuki could be seen poking at one of the Fey tied to the tree in spite of its protests to stop. ’Will you teach me that trick? Will ya? Will ya? I can think of some really fun things to do with a trick like that. So will ya?’ The other Fey just stared at the fox companion; and the fox stared back. After a moment the fox gave the helpless Fey a big lick, and continued to stare.
i’ll update my spells. Charm Person might be of help.
Steinolf Stone
Did we not do a heal check to aid in rest for those who are lower in HP? It gives you 2 HP/level with a full nights rest. Just figured I would ask.
After the nights rest in the cold snow, Steinolf is ready to continue with finding the Lady... but first these Fey creatures. He walks up to them and taps them with the flat of his cold iron longsword.
“Did you sleep well? You look tired. Hopefully my snoring didn’t keep you up....”
We we know if these creatures speak common? If not do we know what they do speak? I am not sure if we did a check for that or if they talked at all during the battle. Who is going to be taking the lead during this questioning? I am +4 intimidate, not sure if anyone else is higher.
Steinolf Stone
The heal check requires 8 hrs of bedside rest, which mean someone would not have been able to sleep. Also, no one mentioned that was what they were doing.
Mental note for the future then.
Gavinia Hornsten

I (as a player) think they probably speak Sylvan at least. As a PC lacking knowledge nature, if they've kept quiet all night, then we can try going through all our languages to see if they understand. (probably Sense Motive vs Bluff if they want to be difficult)
Intimidate scores: Garrasay +0, Gavinia -1, Mordred +3, Steinolf -1, Yuki +0
(don't see you as +4, unless looking at initiative by mistake?)
_Mordred_
Mordred wakes up the next morning looking around he sees all the snowfall, saying to no one, "Did it Snow all night?" this will kill many not prepared in the woods, he thought. Getting up Morde takes some time getting himself up and presentable, copmbing his hair and taking some snow to "wash" his face, before joining the others. getting out some coffee out of his bag he cooks some to offer to the others.
"Ummmmmm that's good, today" warming his fingers on the cup he looks at the others.
Intimadate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Glaring at the Fey to try to get them to talk seems Ludacris to morde as he cant gather the energy this morning to really get behind his threats.
Steinolf Stone
(don't see you as +4, unless looking at initiative by mistake?)[/ooc]
Yes, that is what I did.... good eye
Glancing at what Mordred is brewing up Steinolf perks up. Digging through his mess kit he pulls out a small steel mug. “Thank you! Nothing like warming up your core before starting in on a frigid day.” Looking over conversation between Garrasay and the fey Steinolf takes sips of his coffee.
Garrasay
GM Deadly Secret
One of the feys listens to Garrasay and laughs.
The male fey whispers to the female.
She continues talking to Garrasay.
They both look up to the sky. The snow continues to fall.
Steinolf Stone
Steinolf walks up besides Garrasay, coffee in one hand longsword in the other. “Any luck? What language is this that they speak?”
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Basically wanting to get a read on their body language... are they scared, are they taking us seriously, are they acting like this is no big deal and they are just joking around, etc...
Yukiharu
Listening to Garrasay’s words an idea came to mind. ’Crows are fun aren’t they? If you can show us what way they went, then we can show you where to find some crows and we’ll both be on our way. Doesn’t that sound fun?!’
Gavinia Hornsten
"Ask them who is Fawfein. And have they given a satisfactory answer on why they attacked us? Why didn't they attack the bandits?"
Garrasay
Garrasay continues to translate for the rest of the group. He nods at Gavinia "Grrrr. That is a good question, I would like to know the answer as well. And why this wasteful hunting of crows too. But we should finish up our questioning, the Lady is still in peril. We also need to make a final decision on the fate of these fey once they have explained their attack on us and their relation to the bandits. Grrrrm"
_Mordred_
Morde enjoys his coffee and warms himself up before placing back on the cold weather outfit. Leaving the campsite while the others are talking to the fey. Morde starts searching where there was some hoofprints. he will only go as far as shouting distance. Looking for any other signs of disturbance. keeping his great axe ready as he searches.
Enjoying the time away from the others he finds peace in the woods. its been a long time since i've spent this much time among others.

Mordred sees tracks that look to belong to an Elk. They lead deep into the woods out of site.
Gavinia Hornsten
Gavinia frowns as Garrasay translates.
"Ask them: What sort of creature is Fawfein? Is he like you or any of us? Who are the others and where did you come from?
If we let you go, will you stop attacking people? "
To the group she adds, " These creatures seem very capricious. I am not sure we can trust any promises they make. However, I would feel bad about killing them while they are bound."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 for the last question (if I can with language barrier)
Do they still look badly injured from the fight? If we do release them how soon could they cause trouble?
heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
_Mordred_
Morde gazes at the trail the stag left, Looking around, It would be easy to just walk away... For a moment if anyone was watching they would see him start to take a step then stop to turnaround.
Dreams of Glory, with Knights run through his head as Morde walks back to the camp.
Steinolf Stone
Turning to Gavinia. “Do not feel bad. These creatures are an evil bunch that would have easily killed less capable travelers. This region needs to be rid of them. I have no moral issue with getting rid of a threat. Once the questioning is finished we will kill them, quickly with no suffering I assure you.”
Gavinia Hornsten
I'll reask questions they didn't ask before getting distracted - "Who are the others?" "Where are you from" "Will you stop attacking people" - to see if we get some answers (but only asking once). I don't have any further questions.
_Mordred_
"Need help gathering your things Gavinia? I don't think they are going to be any more help. we are lucky to get out of them what we did. They know they are going to die and are now just stalling." Looking at Stein and Garrasay. "ill take care of them." Morde doesn't trust the "fox" as of yet, and believes that the lady should not need to do this.
Morde walks up after gathering his pack and Coupe de grace both of them with his Cold iron hand axe. Before taking off after the others.
back to marching order.
Yukiharu
What a poor waste of potential; though they did make me see spots; and hear spots; and even taste spots, still not sure how they managed that one. Oh well! Where there’s one, there tends to be more!
With his bedroll tightly strapped and the borrowed coat pulled around him tightly, he marches forth with the others.
