GM Deadly Secret
The date is 4713 AR on Fireday, 18th Earstus at 8:45 am - current moon cycle: waxing crescent
The location is The Border Wood - Trail
A narrow game trail winds its way through the trees and undergrowth here. Gavinia notices some hoofprints mark the underlying snow, leading in both directions.
Gavinia Hornsten
"Are elk native to this area?" Gavinia wonders aloud. "Or did this one arrive with whatever brought the snow?"
Unless anyone notices anything, I say press onwards, stop if we notice the tracks leave the trail, or if we see the elk, or the building the fairies mentioned.
Not sure if we want to try being stealthy, I'm at a -5 with armor and shield.
Steinolf Stone
Steinolf thinks of his travels in this area thinking on what Gavinia said.
K-Local to if elk are local to this area: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Garrasay
"Mrrrrr. Fresh meat would be nice, but we have a lady to liberate at the moment. We can go hunting after we have cleared up the bandits. RrrRg"
Garrasay shivers a bit and pulls his cloak tighter as he plows through the snow trying to use his size to make a slightly more passable trail for the rest of the party.
GM Deadly Secret
The party looks up after observing these tracks and off in the distance just at your visions reach (60 ft due to snow), a white stag emerges as the snow continues to fall. The stag stops for a moment to sniff around the ground, but then raises its head and peers in your direction. Now standing still as if observing you. It blinks a few times and then lowers its head to nibble on some greens the snow has been piling up on.
_Mordred_
Morde quietly says “halt” mystified by such a magestic beast morde tries to walk towards it lowering his weapon he slowly starts heading towards it seeing if the beast has any way to communicate. In a calm voice “hey there girl, what are you doing wandering the woods ? It’s dangerous. “
Wild empathy diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
it sucks when your mod is better than your roll , lol
Steinolf Stone
“These creatures are not natural to this area, let alone a white stag... If we don’t need to mess with it we should go around. Maybe it has been brought here by the same means that this weather has been brought here... It could be scared away from its home.”
Garrasay
Garrasay looks at the stag for a moment "Rrroerr. It doesn't look like it is interested in getting close. As long as it keeps its distance I'm fine with leaving it alone. Lets keep moving. huurrr"
He brushes the snow off his shoulders and Petal before trudging up the trail going a little out his way to avoid the stag, but not so far as to lose sight of the trail.
Yukiharu
’Hey look! He’s following us. Maybe he want’s to be friends but is too shy to come close. Though the last ones we found weren’t so friendly. Hmm. . . Just to be sure.’ With his hands flicker and some arcane utterances his senses sharpen and attune to the presence of any magic in the direction of the stag.
Detect Magic in the direction of the stag
Gavinia Hornsten
"It is peaceful enough, although it does seem odd that it is keeping pace with us instead of running away. If not a wild creature, is it a friend to guide us, or a foe to spy on us?"
Sense Motive?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Garrasay
Kn(nature) untrained: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 max 10
Despite spending a lot of time in the wild, Garrasay isn't actually knowledgeable about it. The circumstances behind him becoming nature bonded were unusual and as a result all his time since that event has been spent becoming barely able to survive in the wilderness.
"gGggrg. That seems unusual. Does anyone know what it might want? Can you speak with the beast Yukiharu? Hggggr"
Steinolf Stone
As it begins to follow us Steinolf tries to see what is going on.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
_Mordred_
"Humph, stupid Elk; well we tried going around and I tried talking to it. Its not worth the trouble anymore so unless it sprouts wings or something. I'm not going to stop trying to rescue a missing Lady because some dumb animal wont get out of our way." Mordred hefts his great Axe as if to say lets go, and if the elk gets in the way its Dinner.
Yukiharu
’It talks! I knew there was something special with you! Um... the thing is are you the good kind of special or the bad kind of special?’
Yuki holds his crossbow close to his chest.
_Mordred_
Then you would be a Flying talking donkey.....um elk. :)
Morde looks pale, never having seen a talking animal before. "it must be bewitched, like some of the weather. Out of the way animal, we request passage through your area."
Gavinia Hornsten
Gavinia questions the elk, if it is open to conversation.
"Why are you following us?"
"Where did you come from?"
"Who else is in the woods?"
Steinolf Stone
Scratching his head Steinolf slowly reaches for his sword.
“This is not natural, I have never seen anything like this before....”
Gavinia Hornsten
"It is too early and our beds are too far. If you are not following us, then where are you going?"
To the party, Gavinia mutters "I think we should forget about meeting anyone helpful in these woods. This sounds like a distraction, if not something worse."
Gavinia Hornsten
"Why isn't it safe?" Gavinia looks around suspiciously.
Perception, snow penalty: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 4 = 3
it's probably some stupid fairy throwing their voice, or disguised as the elk.
_Mordred_
"Shoo then Elk, we have no time for your games!" Morde continues on his way, if his path takes him towards the elk so be it. if the elk approaches him he will ready a attack if the elk comes within range of his greataxe other than that Morde will continue following the trail.
preception: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 1 - 4 = 2
Gavinia Hornsten
"Looks like it's already here."
Gavinia draws her cold iron axe.
To the party: "Yes, let's scare it away if it is an actual animal. If it's foolhardy enough not to run, then it is bewitched in some way and could be a threat. Yuki, what kind of magic did you detect on it?"
It's DC 15 knowledge arcana to pick up which schools of magic is on it. I think transmutation would mean polymorph. Illusion for fake voice?
Garrasay
Garrasay looks surprised as the elk speaks. He listens as his companions interrogate the elk, but when the talk turns to threatening the up until now peaceful creature he feels compelled to intervene.
"Grrrrrr. I don't think there is any need for violence here, the elk has been very cordial with us and answered our questions. Let us simply be on our way, part company in peace."
He plucks a few berries off of petal and places then in a small pile on the snow before backing away.
"Hrrrg. Thank you for your counsel and concern for our well being, but we are compelled to press on. Please accept this small token. We should part ways here though, we are seeking violent men and I fear for your safety if you got involved. grRRrrrr."
He then adjusts his pack and begins trudging up the trail.

You now see a diminutive creature with blue skin, much like the others you met but it’s wings are distinctly different. It is flying and is in the same square as Mordred.

Up first, Yukiharu!
GM Deadly Secret
Yukiharu tries to slumber the diminutive creature attacking Mordred. DC14
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Fails, the creature falls to the snow covered ground asleep.
The stag moves at Mordred to attack FF AC 15

attack should be plus 2 didn’t want to mess up my roll , hit ac 21 ;
(On phone sorry)
When the stag charges morde he quickly sidesteps the antlers and brings his mighty axe down on its exposed neck
Steinolf Stone
“Why did you do that!! Don’t you see those creatures flying around it?”
Steinolf moves forward to attack the pesky blue creature with his longsword. If the only one that he sees is the one sleeping on the ground he will move up to finishing it off with a Coup De Grace. Otherwise the attack below goes to the closest one he sees.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
DMG: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Coup De Grace: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 7) + 6 = 15
GM Deadly Secret
Coup De Grace is a full round action.
Steinolf moves to the creature and attacks. Even due to the cover Mordred is giving the creature, you still hit it and do some damage. However, the creature is now awake.
A diminutive arrow flies out of nowhere towards the direction of Steinolf FF AC 15
Shortbow Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 x3/20
Hits
1d2 ⇒ 2 piercing damage
Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Saves
Up next, Garrasay!
Garrasay
Once again under attack from these blue fey and seeing the magnificent talking elk driven to its death by the damnable creatures Garrasay gets angry "GRRRRRROOWWRRRRGGGG!"
He glances around to see where the arrow came from
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 with -4 from snow?
Not having the faintest inkling of where the other assailant was, he took out his frustration on the fey in the snow.
He grabs his flail by both hands and smashes the prone fey before it can take flight again.
This would seem like an appropriate time to both rage and power attack, but Garrasay has neither of those abilities so he will just attack angrily and with all his might ;P
flail: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 +4 vs prone?
damage with two hands: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Gavinia Hornsten
Gavinia moves around Garrasay and swings at the fairy on the ground.
cold iron throwing axe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

_Mordred_
Morde believes the others have the fey creature on the ground under control and moves to attack the other in the trees , ( sorry on phone so don’t know he’d number , the closest is fine )
greataxe : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d12 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
