Jorgo |

Jorgo listens to the guy he just rescued “Could’ve told me before, you smartguy!” he swaps weapon, grabbing poor, unlucky Votun’s Morningstar to attack the skeleton.
______________
Sorry for the previous round
- move action to draw Morningstar
- standard action to attack
morningstar attack, two-handed, still under mutagen: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 yes let's waste the perfect roll on the 5 hp skeleton, I like that!

DM Pendin Fust |

Possible Crit
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Kirridell, I think you have to choose. You can't heal AND damage...you can do either or. Not trying to guide you but the skels aren't long for this world :)
Sigrun's mighty hammer swing connects and crumbles the skeleton. A gong-like sound comes from it's helm as the massive instrument connects.
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
The remaining skeletons all shirk in fear from Kirridell's holy pulsations. The bones begin to disconnect and clatter to pieces on the floor.
Assuming you want to damage :)
A little retconning here for Jorgo!
Suddenly, two more skeletons burst in from the door by Oliver. He squeaks as he looks at them and sees a frosty blue aura surrounding them. Intense cold radiates from the bones.
Jorgo, runs over while quipping at Oliver and strikes with his lost friend's morningstar. His mutagenically enhanced blow crushes into the creature. The shield arm breaks into splinters and the armor crumples, dropping the skeleton.
Oliver, you're up!

Oliver Hoffman |

Oliver is surprised to see the skeletons appear behind them, but based on the actions he is reminded of another interesting tidbit. "Oh positive energy! Good choice Father. Did you know that it affects them due to the connection they share with negative energy being disrupted by the positive? I wonder if it is also why cold does not affect them? Which would actually make them effective shock troops for an enemy in the recent weather changes." As he prattles on, he takes a weak swipe at the one before him with his walking spear, before stumbling back from putting himself off-balance with the swing.
Just using my Knowledge earlier to give some basic undead facts as part of his persona.
Attack with spear 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
5' step back

DM Pendin Fust |

Yep it is unfortunately!
A good cleric (or one who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures.

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

Rage round 5
Sigrun turns on her heel, the icy fury still driving her as she races towards the glowing skeleton, dashing into the radiating cold to strike.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d12 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Kirridell Jinae |

Moving forward to stand alongside Jorgo, Kirridell reaches out to touch the Half-Orcs' injuries, "May Iomedae reward your honour and smile upon you"
Cure Light Wounds on Jorgo: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
With a 20% chance of spell failure due to armour: 1d100 ⇒ 17, fantastic!!! I guess Iomedae isn't so keen on Jorgo...
GM, you will have to move me on the map to wherever works for you

Kirridell Jinae |

I was reading it as 'Cure Light Wounds' containing Somatic Elements and hence being prone to Failure via Armour...I wasn't sure there was a fundamental difference between Arcane and Divine from that perspective? GM's call...but I'd like you to have those 2HP as well!!!
Edit: I have just trawled the Rules Forum and I think you are right Jorgo...it is not an Arcane Spell when cast by a Cleric and hence is not subject to Arcane Spell Failure...enjoy those 2HP!!!

DM Pendin Fust |

Correct...you are a divine caster so Spell Failure does not apply to you. Only to Arcane magics :)
Sigrun's mighty strike proves yet again why she is the strong and silent type. The other skeleton crumples under the weight of the blow.
All is quiet in the lodge now excepting the ragged breathing of adventurers catching their wind after a battle.

Oliver Hoffman |

What time of day is it roughly? Morning, afternoon, evening?
Oliver looks around at the shattered remains of so many skeletons, as well as what bandits bodies may still be lying about. "Well, other than the grisly scene, would you say the urge to escape the threat has been removed? If that's the case, there's no reason we couldn't stick around and look for any signs of what's going on and why we were captured. Maybe we can find something indicating this was to ransom the Lady." With that he begins to look the place over, for any paperwork or something of the sort that could offer insight. At the same time he uses his magic to look for any indicators his normal eyes may miss.
Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
And using Detect Magic

DM Pendin Fust |

It's earlyish morning. I'm assuming you are searching the main room you are in? There is nothing you find or can detect in the main room.

Kirridell Jinae |

"Is anyone else hurt?", and then, addressing Oliver, "Sir? Your leg? Have you been injured?"
Channel Energy to heal anyone who requires healing for 1d6 ⇒ 4
Addressing everyone, "If you feel strong enough to continue, we really need to leave...whilst we may have scared the majority of your kidnappers away, it is only a matter of time before the cold brings them back here...."

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

As the icy rage leaves her, Sigrun's powerful shoulders slump slightly, displaying her fatigue. "You're welcome," she responds leaning against the handle of her massive hammer, "We should get you all back to safety before more bandits come. Along with whatever is creating the walking dead"

Oliver Hoffman |

Oliver doesn't blanche at the question, he expects people to ask more than not, "No, there's nothing your healing can do for this particular injury. I was born with a stunted limb. Do we really want to dash off without looking for clues? This old lodge has got to have a treasure trove of stories within these walls."

DM Pendin Fust |

Lady Argentea shudders a bit, "Why is this happening? Who are these people? And who are you?"

Oliver Hoffman |

Oliver nods dejectedly at first, but his eyes alight when the Lady asks her questions "Very good queries.... that could possibly be answered with a brisk exploration....?" His voice rises and he leaves it in the air of it being a question for permission vice a statement.

Seila Merrilon |

"I'm no one" Seila says her voice tinged with a hefty dose of healthy fear and paranoia. "And I'm not staying another second where they tied me up in a basement where it's now raining blood and gore. Thank you for the rescue but I think a very big part of that is moving away from the place I was imprisoned."

DM Pendin Fust |

Which exit? Can you place your icons on the map by the door you wish to leave?

DM Pendin Fust |

Anyone else searching the house with Oliver? Can you give me an order you'd like to do the rooms?

Oliver Hoffman |

Given his starting point and bad leg, Oliver would want to search them counter clockwise to end where he started. So, first the door beside Jorgo. Then across to the north with the green bed, west to the red bed, and so on ending at the room upstairs.

DM Pendin Fust |

Excellent Oliver. Update coming.
Sigrun...is your survival for something in particular or just in case?

Kirridell Jinae |

"Where are the footprints leading to?", Kirridell stays close to Lady Argentea at all times.
If 'Oliver' wants to get himself killed then that really is no business of mine
Stamping his feet to keep the circulation going, Kirridell checks over towards Votun's body.
I don't suppose he'll be needing that cold iron Longsword anymore...
If it is safe to do so, Kirridell will retrieve the Cold Iron Longsword from Votun's body

DM Pendin Fust |

Yes you can graverob Votun :)
Oliver, I'll type up a PM of events for you when I get home from work.
It will take Oliver around an hour to really search the house. There's a lot that could happen in that time.

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

The Survival check was for the prints
"We should check that out, maybe it would be safer for the Lady to stay with the lame one if he wants to search the cabin."

DM Pendin Fust |

Oliver Hoffman |

Sense Motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Yuk, this may not end well.

Jorgo |

The enlarging spell wearing off, Jorgo feels weaker, but still galvanized by the mutagen. “Aah! Thank you, father!” says to Kirridell when the priest emanates healing energy.
“Seems ta me searching this place here can be a good idea, but I get your fear of other intruders of the rather… thin variety.” Jorgo nods towards the skeletal remains. “I wanna see if there’s anything outside ready to do nasty business.”
The half-orc gets out of the door he just came in and starts circling the lodge clockwise, looking for signs of perils.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

DM Pendin Fust |

She sighs audibly and looks directly at you, "Whaddya gonna do with me? Can I just...go? Please?"
The immediate area is pretty quiet now that the sounds of battle and death have receded.

Oliver Hoffman |

Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

"No one we know of, we should check it out." Sigrun says heading towards the bridge.

DM Pendin Fust |

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

Knowledge Nature1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
"That creature is an Ice Mephit! A fey creature that can breathe ice and heal faster in freezing weather. They hate fire. If we are going to move we'll need to do it now. Sigrun says as she straps the lucern hammer back across her back and draws the cold iron longsword, fitting her shield on her left arm.
AC back up to 18

Oliver Hoffman |

DM Pendin Fust |

At this point I'll assume you are walking back to whomever is still inside the Lodge. Anyone still left inside? I know Seila and Sigrun are outside. Kirridell, Jorgo?

Jorgo |

Honestly, I'm getting lost. Is the "heated conversation" you mention in the last spoiler adressed to Jorgo the same one Sigrun and Seila are witnessing? If that's so, where is it happening? why are we going forward instead of going back where we came from to regroup? Did Jorgo see anything else when he scouted the surroundings of the Lodge(he circled arond it)?

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

We aren't regrouping so far because Oliver is searching the house which would take a substantial amount of time. Sigrun also believes neutralizing all treats in the area is a better idea that trying to make the way back and having enemies who function better in the snow tracking and picking us off.

DM Pendin Fust |

The heated conversation is happening outside, across the bridge you can see on the map. Sorry I completely forgot you were circling outside. You would have seen the footprints and probably heard the conversation outside. Oliver is currently inside talking to someone. I think then that only leaves Kirridell since Seila is with Sigrun.

Kirridell Jinae |

Kirridell was also outside - primarily ensuring the Lady Argentea is safe but also keeping an eye on Sigrun and Seila. He would be totally oblivious to anything occurring inside the lodge.
"When do we head back? I am frozen to my very core and I have no doubt the Lady Argentea and our new friends would rather be somewhere warm?"

DM Pendin Fust |

Seeing noone in the lodge, Oliver scratches his head on what to do next. Leaving it up to you for now...I may fastrack what happens soon though.
Are you going to try to charge across the bridge to the ice mephit?
