I was thinking...it's been more than two weeks since Blik has checked in: should we look for someone else? We could put up a recruitment for a divine caster, and maybe someone else.

If we do that, I'd say that we wait until we get to level 3/arrive at a plot relevant point to smooth the transition for who we find.

I was thinking the same thing, honestly. You're very close to leveling, and then there's a nice cinematic/RP scene before the AP starts in earnest. I was planning to reopen recruitment then.

Nevermind on the previous post, I just read what they've been up to. And I thought we were a little undiplomatic with the sentinels!

I also saw that they're also down to 4 members...and they were looking for a full arcane caster. And we're looking for a divine one.
What I'm getting at, it's that I wouldn't mind Vashti's idea of merging into one mega-group: quite the opposite.

I can see that there could be some problems: we're deeper into the story than them, and an eight people group could be too big/give a lot of work to YBD to tune encounters to the number of players.
On the other hand, party balance aside, it sounds really fun to me RP wise: they all have awesome characters!
Not as awesome as our samukitten, tough

So, yeah, just giving my two coppers here. I just wanted to say that while I'm also okay recruiting new blood, I'd prefer the merging option.

PS:AND THEY HAVE COOKIES!


Right now, I'm leaning toward continuing with two 4-person groups. They're contemplating rebuilding their Cleric as a Mystic Theruge. I do feel that 8 people is too much for me to handle, but if another few people have to drop out, I'll give it some serious thought. It would definitely be awesome RP, but you're twice as far along as them, so they'd be missing a significant portion of Book One.


Update: Group One has also suggested merging groups, and I've been playing around with the Mythic rules. If everyone in both groups is wanting a merger, I might be persuaded to do so. It would mean more work for me in balancing encounters, but I wouldn't have to keep doing everything twice, either. Let's pause and continue discussion in their thread.

Update: the entirety of Group Two + Vashti is fine with merging groups. While that's technically a majority, I don't want to make a decision without giving everyone a chance to give their opinion. Plus, I want everyone to be comfortable with whatever's decided, so if even 1 player has an issue, we'll continue going through options. This is just an update to keep everyone in the loop. :-)

I was reading the Harrow Handbook (It's fantastic: there's fluff, crunch and moar Feiya! What else can you ask?) and they added a couple of Hexes. One is mostly tailor made to the new Cartomancer Witch archetype, but the other is kinda interesting...

Soothsayer (Su):
The witch’s predictions become self-fulfilling prophecies. When the witch uses the evil eye hex, fortune hex, misfortune hex, or retribution major hex, she can choose to delay the effect. If she does so, the hex takes effect the next time the target makes a roll that could be affected by the hex (such as an ability check, attack roll,saving throw, or skill check) or is affected by an action that could be modified by the hex (such as being attacked when the hex would affect the target’s AC), whichever comes first(ignoring actions that are not in combat and actions that have no penalty for failure). The duration of the hex begins on the same round as the action that causes it to take effect.
The hex is wasted if it is not triggered within 24 hours.

YBD, I was wondering: does people would know that I'm taking an hostile action against them while I cast an hex? If that wasn't the case, I could take (later) this Hex, and use that to gain a little edge on enemies before battle starts: I could mask the hex as a witty retort while the Big Bad is doing his speech, only to trigger it as battle starts.


@Zes: The way I run Hexes, spellcasters and/or mundane enemies with knowledge of the arcane (like Order of the Staff Cavaliers) will know you're doing something. However, those ignorant of magic won't realize you're doing anything.

Semi-related: yesterday I embarked on a search of the internet for an image for Zses, but had no success. I swear, I only found long-bearded wizards and half-naked beefcackes!
