Greater Resolve (Ex)
At 9th level, a samurai can spend his resolve to negate some of his most grievous wounds. After a critical hit is confirmed against him, the samurai can spend one use of his resolve as an immediate action to treat that critical hit as a normal hit. Effects that only trigger on a critical hit do not trigger when the samurai uses this ability.

Rage power (Flesh wound) Once per rage, the barbarian can try to avoid serious harm from an attack. The barbarian must make a Fortitude save with a DC equal to the damage that would be dealt by the attack. The barbarian’s armor check penalty applies on this saving throw. If the save succeeds, the barbarian takes half damage from the attack and the damage is nonlethal. The barbarian must elect to use this ability after the attack roll is made, but before the damage is rolled.

Two more quick notes regarding what I just posted:
1) The non-Draconic-speakers can still make speeches or whatnot if they want. We can assume one of you (Neverhome, perhaps) is interpreting.
2) This is a different dialect of Draconic than you're used to, so (as you may have noticed), some nuance will be lost. Plan your words accordingly. You don't have to use childlike speech, but flowery metaphors and certain abstract concepts may be misunderstood.

Okies, have fun :3

Your Benevolent Dictator |

And 200+ minis later... I've been having a blast. Frost Giants! Purple Worm! Five-headed Dragon! Chibi Cthulu! There's also a construct that looks just like Gurrn Slaygon. XD
Anyway, I'm ready to resume play. Since Percy has the language barrier covered, anyone can post in-character, and they'll be understood. See my last Gameplay post for instructions, as otherwise, this council scene would drag on for weeks.

Lyosha Neverhome |

Hey, still here, I guess. I just haven't been able to make myself post, even if it was something simple. I haven't missed the posts or anything, I've seen them right when they come up. I come back to them everyday.
And I just stare at them. That's it.
The minutes turn into hours turn into days turn into weeks turn into months. And all I do is stare, I can't even force myself to post anything. I've just completely lost interest, but that's not right, since I still want the story to continue. I want to keep playing.
I don't know what to do.

Percy Silvershaper |

I admit that I find myself not carrying in the slightest about this siege. If there is a nuclear option I say we bomb the crap out of the army surrounding us, do the same to any army that marches our way, then hold the enemy fort for ransom until they turn over the bear skin.

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Unfortunately, this is the weakest Book in RoW. Triaxus is an important planet in Baba Yaga's history, but the specifics aren't really discussed during the campaign. To be honest, I'm not sure what to do, either. While a dragon planet war is (IMO) really cool, it's just another fetch quest like Artrosa. Since it's the entirety of Book Four, I'm not sure what to do. If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears. On the plus side, Book Five has an awesome premise and should be a lot of fun.

Lyosha Neverhome |

Book 5 is the whole reason I got into APs and why I applied to this game.

Percy Silvershaper |

If they don't go into the history, why did they send us here to begin with? I'm confused. Silly writers.
Maybe pick out the best two or three encounters and hit fast forward through the rest?

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Yeah, it's only mentioned in the Triaxus gazetteer in the back of the Book. I'll wait to get input from the rest of the party but will probably just run the major setpieces. There's a neat bit during the siege, a cool duel, and the boss fight. Expect SoP and PoW abilities (alien planet and whatnot).
In other news, Zses has vanished. I PMd him a while back but haven't received a response.

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

Hmmm....that sucks. Good thing we started with a pretty huge party.
At this point I'm cool with us just trying to mow through the enemy and encounter things as they come.I know now that there's a whole chunk o the last book we missed out on due to our choices. But whatever gets things moving.

Hobbes 'Rat Trap' Bitterleaf |

Well that sucks about Zses. Yea, our motivation for being here is kinda lame. I mean we're on the dragon planet at war and we should be all giddy for it and we're not. I think running just the major set pieces is a good idea.

Sigrun Jagrsdottir |

I think it's largely the AP being flawed by making such a cool setting just a fetch quest.

Lyosha Neverhome |

*nods*

Percy Silvershaper |

Agreed

Your Benevolent Dictator |

If Silence wants to check in, that would be great, but it looks like everyone's on the same page. I'm traveling for the next few days but will update Gameplay when I'm back in town. Should be Friday-ish.

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Silence's armor project is complete, by the way. Here's the info:
Mantis Carapace Barding
This set of barding is sized for a large four-legged creature and is composed of mantis chitin. Scales from an arctic tatzylwyrm create decorative patterns across the barding's breast, back, and side pieces.
+3 AC; no ACP; +5 max DEX; 15% arcane spell failure
considered MW for enchanting purposes
5% crit negation (stacks with fortification if it's added later)
Immune to cold (doesn't apply to wearer, only the armor itself)

Hila the Orphan |

Woof!
