But a funny joke, right, not a mean, bad-guy joke?
Also, I think it is probably okay if one of the bad-guy monsters is the quiet type, Xakroo, if you don't want to say bad-guy stuff you can just shoot. You are good at that.

Dripple just smiles wide. "Sorry Bossy Lady! I have no idea where to get water or anything like that! I'm Dry Guy after all!"
1d20 - 3 ⇒ (2) - 3 = -1
But Dripple is not good at lying, and it is very clear that he knows plenty about water and may not actually be this "Dry Guy" character...

Yes, a joke, like, puns! Xakroo exclaimed.
Perform (comedy, untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 19
We need to think carefully on this, and not be kobold. If we start goblin up our act, we can consider our rears dragone.
Xakroo suddenly blinked. Since when in Aspu's name was he good at puns?
Kwiazy |

"Puns are such low comedy, Xakroo. I knew a bard once who did a whole performance based on puns. When it came down to it, it was just a play on words. You know, Xakroo... or should I say Mael?... I once thought of taking up archery, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it... there were too many drawbacks. I knew a fellow who had his whole left side cut off in a battle. He's all right now." Kwiazy looks deadpan serious at his own comedy attempts.

"Okay, now we're just dragon it out. Are you feeling better, my dear Archer-Herald, or does the Pun-Ishment need to continue?" Petra offers with a toothy bemused smile oft-times seen by nobility.

Oh I am feeling a bit more confident, the Archer-Herald smiled, bowing to Petrahk more in a manner of a kindly gesture then acting his part.
Trinket Sparkleplume |
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Trinket laughs. She sits down on the ground, looks up at the others as if she's a child settling in for a story or performance. "Go on, go on! Tell me more! You're SO funny!"
Alaka Zam |
Yeah, you seem to be getting the hang of this being good stuff. Great job. I wonder how we stop the attack though. Do we join Kosseruk and then do some nifty sabotaging stuff from within? ... We might need one of those plan-type things.
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"If we are good enough, we might even be able to protect Longshadow and destabilize the opposition while maintaining our disguise. Not that it'd be useful or anything." the dragonette considers.
"Can you provide any more information, Mahrzan?"
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter |
But...will they even allow allies coming in? Xakroo asked, I know the Ironfang will go to allies, but what would they think of allies coming to them?
Jynnjun |

"You think they'll say no to a glorious dragon deigning to grace them with her presence?" Jynnjun asks incredulously. "Non-shiny dragons tend to eat people who act like that. Anyway, they should be happy enough to point us at their enemies, and military types probably want to say when to go which means having us wait until they're ready. We can do sneaky stuff while we wait." She nods firmly in satisfaction at this scenario.
Alaka Zam |
Ooooh. I don't think I have ever met a famous minotaur before. That will be fun. We just have to make sure she doesn't kill everyone. That will probably work. I'm sure we can accidentally make some big mistakes that ruin everything. I'm good at that.
Kwiazy |
Kwiazy smirks at Alaka's comment, then laughs.. "Only when you want to be, my dear." He turns their new ally and asks... "So, Kosseruk is a smart minotaur. Is there anything else you can tell us about her and her reputation that will help us with our ruse?"
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter |
Xakroo stays quiet, paying attention to every bit of info as closely as he can.
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"Are there any things that we should avoid talking about, for the sake of making a good impression on this 'Kosseruk' the Minotaur? Or any things we should address, to put her concerns at ease? It'd hardly do to start a battle when we're being recruited, after all."
Does anyone else have thoughts on this before we pull the lever?
Alaka Zam |
I'm good... just anything else we should know (I don't have anything specific), and then we should get going.
Trinket Sparkleplume |
Yeah, Trinket has nothing to add or specifically ask.

fine with moving on... just fyi, will be at Strategicon for 4 days starting Friday - may not post much if at all during those days
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter |
apologies for late answer, but yes I'm ready to move on whenever you guys are
Kwiazy |
Kwiazy does his best to look as anti-heroic as possible: bad, but good at being bad, a badass bodyguard, that is. Eyes narrowed, and an alert scowl on his face, he watches everyone and anyone that might be a threat to his leader, which for now means the sentries.
assuming we are approaching with some stealth, but not trying to look stealthy, as we have legit business here, he moves accordingly
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"Herald Telket, flag down some of the sentries and inform them that Petraxxykssz the Powerful has deigned to provide aid to Commander Kosseruk's operation. The rest of you, stand up a bit straighter. No slouching in my retinue!" Petra barks with a nervous grin to the rest of the team.

Trinket casts Lucky Number at the start of the day. Her lucky number is: 1d20 ⇒ 1 One! Awesome.
Trinket struts into the camp, like her typical flamboyant self, doffing her hat and bowing to the sentries that see her approach.
"Hail and well met, fellow fearsome foes of questionable repute! I am Telket Glimmerbloom, Villain Extraordinaire and Herald of the Great Petraxxykssz the Powerful! My liege, Petraxxykssz the Powerful, brilliant and clever dragon that she is, has arrived to offer her aid to Commander Kosseruk's grand and impressive operations! May we enter and offer our services to your Commander? I'll be sure to give you, hale and attractive guard, the credit for our recruitment--if you desire it." She waggles her eyebrows at the sentry.
Perform Oratory: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
As she gives her speech, Trinket uses fascinate with her oratory performance. The three nearest guards she can see and can see her all must make a DC 16 Will save or sit and wait quietly, absolutely enthralled with her amazing speech, until she finishes speaking. If they pass they don't have to sit and wait quietly for her to finish. They're instead treated to the typical hypnotizing and delightful Trinket.

Alaka eats some rations and chews with her mouth wide open! Just like a bad guy would. She feels like she is pretty good at being a bad guy so far.
She looks around, taking note of which things look especially combustible.

Dripple is busy making sure his clothes stay dry to maintain his Dry Guy cover identity. The stress of concentrating nearly makes him sweat! But he keeps his cool and stays dry while the others try and talk their way in to this encampment.
Jynnjun |
Jynnjun takes out a polishing cloth and makes a few last-minute adjustments to Petrahk's appearance. "Do show off for the hobbogobbos a bit please dear? Why, they may not have even seen a real dragon." The cloth vanishes up a sleeve as she slips away to stand behind the others, her own identity as the attendant Neeral doesn't have her standing out in front.
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter |
Xakroo keeps himself stiff lipped, and making sure Zarvak stays as close to him as possible. Both want to make sure that they keep an eye on anything of interest...perhaps anyone that is suspicious of them?
Perception Xakroo: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 (+2 if they're in a forest)
Kwiazy |
Kwiazy hovers near his dragon, now known as Petraxxykssz, hand on the hilt of his blade and watchful for any threats... trying to look as menacing as he can... with a 'come close without permission and you're dead' aura about him.
Alaka Zam |
If there is any fire around, Alaka goes ahead and pulls it from the fire to her hand and lights a torch (making sure there is no one in the way that will get burnt... this time). She figures that would look impressive and maybe encourage the sentries to not mess with them.
Special ability: Call Fire (Su) [Standard action, beckon fire within 60 feet to me. Fire comes in a straight line; 1d4 fire damage to anyone in the path; Reflex save (DC = 10 + 1/2 your cleric level + your Wisdom modifier) negates this damage. Trinket Sparkleplume |
"Yes, yes, I know you're in shock. But, she really doesn't like to be kept waiting. Shall I sound a processional trumpet?"
Trinket raises her hands to her mouth and makes a cheesy, fake, trumpet noise.
"Righto! I'll take your continues stunned silence as a 'come-on-in.'" Trinket grins. "Don't mind if I do!"
Trinket waltz's right on in, beckoning for her friends to follow her. "Which way to the commander?"
Perception to see the boss' tent: 1d20 ⇒ 1
"Yup, I don't see it. Point it out for me fella's! I don't want the great and powerful Petraxxykssz to burn me to ash!"
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"Herald, why are we still standing here? You had *one job*.." the dragon huffs ominously. "You only wish I would turn you to cinders -- you know very well I prefer to watch my ire melt those who offend me."
She takes a casually bored glance through the camp looking for the biggest tent or structure with the most banners or trophies around it.
Perception(Dazzled if applicable0: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26-1 if Dazzled applies
After getting a general idea she clears her throat. "Who is taking us to your Commander? Speak up now. I may have an eternity -- my entourage does not."
She then leaves a bit of a hacking globule of spit on a sapling which begins to disintegrate.

Indimidate Aid: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"Telket, dear, the poor Captain of the Watch seems completely enthralled by your efforts on my behalf. Would you please remind him of what his job duties are so we may be on our way? If I have to spend another night on bare rock, someone is getting an arm melted off." 'Petraxxykssz' rumbles ominously, not saying WHO might be getting the arm melted off.
Alaka Zam |
Alaka thinks about it, and decides that just a little bit of niceness would probably be okay, so she goes up and takes the boss sentry's hand. Come on, you can show us the way, right? She smiles.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
I bet if you just show us to your leader that everything will be fine and no one will get too mad, or burned up, right?
Trinket Sparkleplume |
"Perfect! Come on, sentry man! Lead the way! What's your name?"
Petrahk Jadetalon |
"The hoo-mans have been expanding their reach for far too long. Commander Kosseruk is building an army to deal with them. It would be better to work together towards this goal. Me and mine are here to help. Unless the aid of my entourage is not desired, of course. It would be bad if the General discovered that helpful allies were being turned away, right?" the dragon offers helpfully, attempting to unpack it slowly with enough points that the watch commander will allow the team to pass through.
Trinket Sparkleplume |
"Surely, the Great Kosseruk, will be pleased to have new allies they may use to battle the humans! Come, you will see! We're TOTALLY worth it!"
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter |
The hunter doesn't say a word; he keeps his cool, acting as the strong, silent type. Plus, diplomacy is not his thing-he wants this to go off without a hitch.
Kwiazy |
Kwiazy acts much as Xakro does.. silent but deadly. He keeps one hand on the hilt of his blade as he stands by Petrakh to keep him safe from any harm.
