The dragon motions folks away from a nearby area, then gives the longshanks a conspiratorial wink as she motions for a few scraps of their clothing to place in a spot in that area.

She then flies up and lets loose a roar.

"YOU IDIOTS! STOP PLAYING WITH THE FOOD! WHY DO I HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK MYSELF??!!"

After verifying that they are well out of the blast radius, Petra lets loose a large gout of her dragon breath to thoroughly melt where the 'prisoners' 'once stood'.

Taking the scraps of cloth and melting them with a use of Breath Weapon (13d6) should provide good enough of an evidence of the 'ultimate fate' of the prisoners.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35

But then she wonders what the right thing to do is. They are supposed to be bad and make the bad guys fail, so if bad things happen to bad guys, is that good? She is very confused.

Then she decides, well, I should just tell the superior guy anyway, in case he is really a good guy, because you can't always tell by looks. Even if we have to burn him later, he shouldn't get in trouble for something he didn't do.

But, wait...

What's elf magic? Is it different than the regular kind?

Oops, she said that out loud. She wonders if the hobgoblins heard her.

After getting back to camp Petrahk reports to Kosseruk directly along with any that come along for support.

"Commander, we dealt with the first situation you sent us to handle, freeing up the patrol to get back to their duties and ensuring that there were no survivors. They had no intel on the situation, so we ended them quickly and cleanly.

However, on the way back some of your minions were attempting to disrupt your chain of command and army organization by setting up an unliked commander -- didn't catch the name -- for using arcane or 'elf' magics. We managed to mark them most vigorously with some really smelly skunks -- it should be quite easy to find out who these miscreants are as a result.

We did not action on them directly, because we felt it was more important that the Commander make a good impression on the troops by instilling proper discipline and terror in the ranks of the minions." Alaka tells a story too, beginning with details from something that really happened to her, like sneaking into a camp, and then adding some more stuff that happened to her another time, like encountering an ambush, and building it up and up with lots of adventure and detail, and then at the end she calls fire to her hand, laughs a little maniacally, and says and then fire, fire EVERYWHERE, and we win as always. The end.

Xakroo keeps his mouth shut, nibbling on some of the food and giving some to Zarvak while keeping his cool. Hearing some of the exploits nearly makes his blood boil, but he manages to swallow that hatred down with his food just so he won't snap and murder them all. He has to stick to this plan, even if it kills him.

Trinket, who is a masterful teller of tales and a not-so-masterful lair -- her tales are always true, after all -- tells an amazing story of the exploits of the greatest dragon she knows!

...She doesn't mention the dragons name, of course, hoping those around her assume it's the one she serves...

...It's not.

"Understood. I'll keep my minions out of mischief for the time being. Thank you for this opportunity to showcase their skills."

At dinner

Conscience is a horrible thing to have, especially when it's a newer sensation over a lifetime of having less than a care about one's fellow sentients.

Thankfully, a dragon has far fewer obvious 'tells' compared to hobbos and goblins, so Petrahk's glower and reserved air aren't entirely too out of line. Her concern as she watches the food being served is not necessarily the food, but the servers.

She's watching for shifty servers, patterns in their deployment, which tables have two or three 'servants' at them versus a single one that shows up 'every so often', and in general trying to keep 'on mission' under the guise of a 'wary dragon'.
