As the muck belches and Desmond giggles two blackened corpse encircled by swarms of flies and rancid stench emerge from what looks like holes in the path. There is in front of you roughly 25 feet away and a second one behind you about 15 feet. The old craggy trees lining the path seem to be swaying, one a little more than the others.
Everyone please roll your initiative. I don't have the character coding handy.

The creature takes another step back as Karnog tosses a coin. It stops moving after the additional coin lands on the ground. The creature has now taken two steps back. You do notice it moves easily in this difficult terrain, you surmise that it's a natural terrain for them.

As the party tosses coin the creature continues to more to the side. The party manages to evade the potential conflict as it walks the narrow path. About 10 minutes later you come to a clearing, there is a smoldering campfire. Looking around the area you can see several footprints which eventually head off down a cobblestone path.

Grung, Kalim, and Karnog you all can tell the fire is recently smoldering...you figure less than 30 minutes. You can see signs of small game and hard tact in the area. Some of the game bones look like its been clawed at. Obviously, the campers rested here. You can find their trail, lots like heavy boots from a medium sized creature and a second set of large prints.

Nym says while pointing at a snare trap

You group circumvents the snare trap that Nym points out and continues forward another 50 feet or so when you come to a "Y" in the path. I'm going to try to get the map posted today if I can link it correctly.
Nym, Desmond and Felic have point looking down one pathway, while Grung, Karnog, and Kalim look down the other. On the map I have the two groups in an arrow head formation with Nym and Grund each at the tip of oen of the points.

Nym can see the large Kyton looming about 20 ft away. At the core of this multi-limbed monstrosity of claws and blades struggles a glistening mass of veins, organs, and twisted flesh.
Meanwhile Grung can make out the half-orc standing roughly 20 feet down the other path. He seems unafraid and certain you can sense there is deep aura of cruelty and death about him. He holds a bastard sword in his hands his spiked full plate armor adds to his menacing aura.
Can everyone post what your aliments are. If you can't I'll look them up.

From the looks of things you know you will be on a two front battle. The battle ground was carefully selected to minimize your own area attacks while enhancing their own attacks.
