Tamora studies the room carefully, then, she examines the corpse. She finds nothing more the debris and dust. As for the two kobolds, they were killed by severe multisystem trauma. As she is doing that, Kyzen open the trapdoor and peak at the room below.

The walls of this chamber have buckled precariously in several places, and masonry and dirt are scattered across the floor, the collapse above plainly caused this structural damage. The dry-rotted frames of five simple beds lie against the north and south walls. To the southwest, the room broadens into a larger chamber. A rusted, grinning iron statue stands in an alcove in the north wall between the two wings of the room itself, and in the wall to the south is an old iron door.

Since we are dealing with a collapsed structure I want to say that Kyras will always be checking or structural integrity. Taking 10 for him would be 23, rounding down on his Inspiration. Is that ok?

After assessing the room below Kyras notes that We should have a light between us I think. Since I fight with a pole arm which requires two hands. I cannot carry a lantern or torch. Tamara, can you conjure a light?

How far down is the floor? Do we need a knotted rope?

@Rannik Can you assume that Tamora is going to take 20 on perception for check of 30 and cast detect magic automatically from now onwards if we move to or before new scene/room if she tries to sense danger or search?

When he does so, she taps it and makes it glows like a torch. Before the iron doors are opened, she arms herself with her longspear in one hand and a crossbow in the other.

Will be renewing every 20 minutes if he ask for it.

@Kyras. No problem on the checks for stutural integrity. Also, the drop to the next level is 10 foot.

@Tamora. It's going to be a slow moving foward but no problem on the perceptions and detect magic.

Taking 10 to descend down the knotted rope Kyras begins to look around, focusing first on the grinning iron stature.

Kyzen moves around the room, looking for signs of kobolds. As he is doing that, Kyras climb down. He then moves toward the iron statue. Once in front of it, he notices hinges on the sides and a long crack splitting the statue vertically in two. He is pretty sure that this is no statue, but an iron maiden. Out of the corner of their eyes, they both spot movements coming from some of the beds. Within seconds, giant centipedes crawl out from under the beds. With their maxillipeds twitching and dripping of some sort of liquid, they move to the two that are downstair.

Tamora manifests her celestial badger in front of the nearest centipede and it attacks the many legged creature with a frenzy of claws and teeth (free action rage & full attack) that glows with a sheen (swift action smite evil). She drops her crossbow in favor of her spear (free action) and positions herself behind the dwarf (5 ft step).

Kyras moves next to Kyzen, getting into a fighting stance. Tamora call forth a celestial badger. The creature appear next to one of the centipede and attacks. The claws and bite tear the vermin appart, leaving a mess on the floor. The rest of the giant insects move foward. Two moves toward the badger, attacking it. While one fails to connect, the other sink its bite deep in the flesh of the clestial animal

One of the centipede heads toward Kyras. The Half-Elf swing his weapon at the creatures. The readied blow misses the target, but then the vermin moves closer and open itself to another attack. This time it's a hit, slicing the centipede in two. It twists and trashes on the ground for a second then stop moving.

Hoga runs up and takes a swing. Die!

Hoga mighty axe swing slices the head of the last centipede. The battle is now over. Now that the distraction is taken care of, Tamora can go back to scanning the room with her detect magic spell. As for Kyras, he is pretty sure he saw how to open the iron maiden before he got pulled away by the vermins.

With the remaining time on her badger ticking away before it returns to the fields of Elysian unharmed and whole, Tamora sends her badger to scout what is behind the door the moment the half-elf opens it, giving the next room a quick glance from where she is standing with detect magic and her senses as she picks up her crossbow.

Kyzen seeing the badger moving toward the door follows it but doesn't pass the door. He stands ready for any action...


Kyras inspect the iron maiden for traps. After a good inspection, he is sure that there isn't any. Tamora, the badger and Kyzen wait across the room in front of the door. Tamora listens at the door and also use her detect magic spell, but all of her investigation finds nothing.

"Well, you didn't leave anything for me, I see." Kakrish says with a mock frown when Hoga finishes off the last of the centipedes. "But I'm going to keep this out in case there are other surprises."

Kakrish moves to stand next to the door along with Tamora and Kyzen.

Lots to search through in this room. Kyras states flatly as he pops open the iron maiden, unsure why people are already leaving. Please check out the dry-rotted frames of those beds against the north and south walls.

After searching inside the iron maiden he will search the alcove it was in and then the remains of the beds. Take 10 in the searches for a 23


Kyras opens the iron maiden. As he does, the remains of its last occupant fall out. Kyras easily steps aside as the bones fall to the ground. At the bottom of the iron maiden, he finds an old rusty metal key. At the same time, Tamora opens the door and send her badger in the corridor. It goes in, first turning left, then after a few seconds it comes back, passes the door and continue down the other way. It takes a bit longer, but soon it is back next to Tamora, awaiting more instructions.

Kyras, after inspecting the iron maiden and the alcove that it was in, moves to the beds. Most of what is left there is too rotten to be of use. As he moves one of the bed, he finds the next of the giant centipede in a hollow in the floor. Looking carefully, he only finds remains of dead rats.

Unsure if we have searched the entire room. If so Kyras is ready to move on. If not, he continues to search, taking 10 for a 23.


@Tamora. It's about halfway.

Kyras crosses the room and start going through the rubbles. He is about to move on when something shiny catches his eyes. Bury in the rubble he finds a pair of mithral daggers with a strange series of notches carved into the flat of each blade. The blades are still in good condition, but the handles have suffered the ravage of time. Some small repairs would be required there to make them functional again.

Both Hoga and Kyzen are looking down the corridor and see numerous jail cells line these long-abandoned corridors. Each of their solid iron doors hangs ajar, and includes both a peephole at eye level, covered with a piece of sliding metal, and a smaller slot for food and water at floor level.

@Kyras. Without supplies you can't make a perfect repair on both of them. You can either make basic repair that will make them useable but give a -1 to hit, or repair one fully by scavenging the other.

@Tamora. your badger already did every where it could go without opening any doors, which it can't do. Also, taking 20 to explore this corridor will take forever.

This corridor split in two, so unless you split the party, you need to tell me which side you are going down.
