When everyone is healed and Kyzen opens the door, Tamora tries what she done previously from her rear position; scanning the room for magic with detect magic, scanning the room for any spells or intent with detect alignments (good, evil, law & chaos) and using her natural senses to probe for traps, danger and anything notable (Perception (Take 20) - 30).


Kyras:
You are pretty sure that it was a haunt.

Tamora spends some time making sure everyone is back to top shape after the vision. Then Kyras moves into the secret room to look at the mechanism. He inspects and studies it, but he can't find exactly what it does. He is, however, pretty that there aren't any traps. Pulling on the lever, the mechanism start moving and a lot of noise can be heard. Some are far away and echo through the structure.

Eventually, those in the secret room hear a noise coming from the ceiling. Looking up, you see part of the ceiling opening and a secret alcove is revealed. Inside of it, there is a small dark cloud. There are two sparks that look like eyes lighting up and then two bolts of lightning stretch out from the cloud, forming long arms. It turns toward you, and you get the feeling that you will have to fight it.

Aiming at the dark cloud, Kyzen unleash a Kinetic Blast directly at it

The cloud moves down closer to attack. As it gets closer, Kyras is able to use the reach of his weapon to the a free strike against it. Sadly, the weird angle of the fight make him misses as his weapon swing in a upward thrust. The creature gets closer, and seeing the nice metalic armored dwarf standing there, swings one of its arm to attack. As it does so, the air around the creature hums and throbs with the promise of electrocution and the tangy stink of ozone.

Tamora drops her morning star and takes out her loaded crossbow to fire a bolt at the creature.

Tamora's bolt passes over the creature, hitting the wall behind. Kyras moves slightly away from the creature and attack with his fauchard. The blade passes through the creature with barely any resistance. If it wasn't for the fact that the creature made a noise has it did and that there is less lighting surrounding it, you would think that the weapon did no damage.

Kakrish pulls back his greatsword, ready to knock the flying creature out of the air. But Hoga beats him to it. "Nice job!" Kakrish exclaims at Hoga's hit. Then he joins the others in trying to find out what the lever did.

Tamora tries what she done previously from her rear position; scanning the room for magic with detect magic, scanning the room for any spells or intent with detect alignments (good, evil, law & chaos) and using her natural senses to probe for traps, danger and anything notable (Perception (Take 20) - 30). Once it is done, Tamora gives a nod and help lift Kyras up.


You start inspecting the room and the alcove in the ceiling. While the room presents nothing new, Kyras find a small opening in the alcove. Inside, he sees a chain. From what he is able to see, the chain most likely connects the mechanism that the lever activated. The chain then runs into a crawl space to the west. You might be able to crawl in there and follow the chain, but you definitely don't have room in case there is something to fight in there.

So right now your options are: going through the crawl space or back the way you came.

Kyzen will suggest to the party to go back out and continu to explore the rest of the cells and at the same time try to see from the outside where the chain leads. I'm giving this a bit more time to see if Kakrish wants to volunteer, then I will assume that Tamora used her summon.


Tamora summons another badger in the crawl space. The creature disappears from sight in second, running along the chain. You can hear the echo of its claws scraping on the stone. It takes less than a minute for the badger to return. It looks down to Tamora, waiting for more instructions.

Does Kyzen still go in, and if so, who follows?

The lever is in the room with you. Kyras already pulled which opened the alcolve in the ceiling and activated something else, probably at the other end of the chain.

Tamora instructs her badger to protect Kyzen and frontline for him.


The badger moves back into the crawl space. Then, with help from the group, Kyzen climb in. It's tight, but he is able to move forward, following the badger and probably hoping that summon creature don't have a functioning digestive system. There is a serie of turns that make it hard for Kyzen to orient himself. Once in a while, he also feels that the stone under him aren't the most stable and that he could maybe bash his way out. Eventually, he gets to the end. The chain seems to be attached to another mechanism there. He doesn't see any other exit.

If there is a mechanism at the end, shouldn't her badger activated it? If it is impeded, it has burrow.


@Kakrish. He's going straigth west before you loose sight of him. So you can't follow unless you dig through the wall.

@Mechanism, but no lever or switch. Just some gears that the chain gets into.

Kyzen:
You see a corridor. Part of the floor is missing and some sort of sludge is there instead. It smells foul, but you can't really say what it is. Part of the ledge seems to have been splashed with the sludge. Walking on that would be very slippery.

You can look Under the yellow box on the map, just make sure to replace it after.

Tamora's badger helps Kyzen by digging whatever walls the obstructs him from advancing with its natural burrowing ability.

Kyzen tries to see what the mechanism does exactly, so he will try to pull/push the chain and see what appends before going back to inform the party...

While Kyzen crawl in the small space, Kakrish and Hoga walks back the way they came. Peering down westward in the corridor, they see nor hear any sign of where Kyzen could be at this time.

Kyzen:
The badger tests the walls and ceiling of the crawl space. But it seems the only direction is down or back. You try to move the chain, but you are unable to do so. It would seem that the lever from the other room must engage some sort of force multiplier mechanism that move something rather that is rather heavy.

Tamora moves close to the hole, on four, looking back at the remaining three in the room.

"I am going after Kyzen."

She crawls after him.

"Don't see anything. Let's keep going down this hallway." Kakrish beckons Hoga. "I'm sure the others will catch up. I'm wondering if Kyzen crawled through some sort of tunnel or something."


Kyzen:
Kyzen climbs down and looks in the hallway. It smells awful being this close to the sludge be he manages to keep his last meal. To the South of him the corridor ends at a door while to the north the corridor turn west. As you look back up you notice that the badger disappear. The magic holding it here probably expired. Getting a bit closer to the door, you don't notice anything wrong about it. There is no sign of potential traps on it or near it.

Tamora & Kyras:
Tamora, tired of waiting, ask for Kyras to climb up in the crawlspace. By this time, she knows that the badger is gone and that Kyzen is all alone, where ever he is. Crawling into the small space, you notice that the floor isn't super stable. Looking at it more carefully, you realise that a few well place hits could make the stone fall out of place. Creating an exit to where ever you are over of.

Hoga & Kakrish:
You walk further down the corridor. You pass two doors on the north side and you get to the corner. Turning north, you see four more doors, this time in the western wall. Further ahead, the corridor turns east.

So Kyzen goes back to inform the party of his finding. When he arrives, he waits until everyone is there to inform them about is findings...

"Sorry it took so long, when I reached the end of the chain, I climbed down to have a better look and saw a corridor who seems to go north and turn left after 30-40 feet. Part of the floor is missing and filled by some sort of awful smelling sludge. Also part of the ledge as been splashed with the sludge and it looks like walking on that would be very slippery. I'm guessing that the mechanism as something to do with it. I tried to activate it from there, but was unable to do so. It needs to be manipulated from here..."

As he finish is sentence, Kyzen goes to the lever and activate it...

"Also to the south, the corridor ends at a door. I didn't notice or hear anything special and it doesn't seems to be trapped..."

Turning back to the group...

"So do we go back through the crawling space or do we continue exploring from here? We will probably find our way there either way..."

So if it's ok with everyone, we're going to assume that when Kyzen came back, either Kyras or Tamora went to get Hoga and Kakrish, so that Kyzen could informed them of his findings... Then we continue exploring...

Kyzen then suggest that we continue exploring in the same manner as before with Hoga and Kyzen securing the front, Tamora and Kyras doing the searching of every room and Kakrish securing the rear. We do this until something catches our attention.

Tamora will auto-search every room they come across that they had not explored or thoroughly search; Perception check (Take 20): 30, detect magic & detect four alignments.

"Kyzen, I like your plan." Kakrish smiles cheerfully at the hobgoblin. He falls in behind the others as they start to walk down the hallway. "What about these doors?" he says as they pass a couple more that are set into the north wall.

I'm wondering about the two doors on the north wall of the east-west passage. Should we check them out before going around the corner?


Regrouping in the room with the level, Kyzen explained what he saw. The group then decides to continue with the section they were in already. They explore each cell, one by one, finding nothing the long forgotten skeletons. As they get to the end of the corridor, they find another secret door. Again the passage of time made it rather easy to find.

After a throughout examination from Kyras and Tamora, (Including the detection spells) The group opens the door to find themselves near where they started. You inspect the last four remaining cells and find these ones empty like the first ones you saw. Finally, with only one place left to go, you follow the last corridor to the end of it.

You come to the last door you haven't opened yet. going through the usual motion, you search for traps and Tamora scan for magical auras and others. She detects a very faint lawful and an evil auras.
