There are multiple possibilities, one good option would be all four faceless stalkers, standing in a 10-ft-square area.... Or the cluster of sinspawn and skum directly in front of the aboleth and near Krar--two of each in a 10-ft-square area....

By withdrawing straight backward, Krar minimizes the AoOs provoked to one from a faceless stalker (due to its reach) and one from a sinspawn....

AC was 23 so 9 damage got through + the 5 for 14!.. BRING IT ON! Now it is 25 as I am not charging

Derrik parries the countless blows with shield and axe, but even his intense focus is disturbed by the wrath that currently lashes out inside of him allowing the otherwise ineffectual blows strike home. They scrape against his armor causing small chinks but its holy properties deflecting much of the damage. His own wounds less severe than his ally Koran and seeming to heal of their own accord... Knowing that Koran is in danger his hidden power reacts.. the runes upon his armor illuminating much more and projecting themselves in some weird language.. symbols beginning to Float around Derrik. He swings his arm high, Dawnbringer positioning itself into its holster and extends his hand towards Koran.

" As I am protected so shall you be Koran... Nay creatures.. you will have to kill me before you do so ANOTHER! "

Derrik does so even among all the danger.. as the symbols that surround him in a strange spherical pattern begins to flow towards KORAN.

Swift action change to Judgement of Resiliency: DR 2/ Magic. AoO from everything that can as Derrik is casting a spell

Sickened Fort Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

Derrik is stricken by a lucky blow and it throws his concentration off balance. He audibly roars at that. As the strike did happen alot of the force seemed to be slowed by the symbols. Now his blood quite evident.

To clarify the battlefield....

The Fierce Ones face The Slime-Shrouded Master and its minions at the west end of a broad bridge (about 20 ft wide, spanning a canal about 40 ft wide. (I may have given much smaller dimensions before, but having recently revisited St Armand's Circle IRL, I have a clearer conception of dimensions.)

Derrik stands beside enlarged Koran, facing (clockwise from the north) a sinspawn, two skums (at Derrik's 9:00, 10:00, and 12:00), a group of four faceless stalkers standing in a 10-ft square opposing Koran, a sinspawn to Koran's 2:00, two more skum holding the line about 10 ft from Koran (still within reach of his massive hammer!), and then another two sinspawn holding the line, both about 15 ft from Koran....

The Slime-Shrouded Master remains half submerged in the canal, about 15 ft to the southeast of Koran, and if what Kermit says is true, its not even the real SSM, but an illusion....

Krar is about 15 ft west of the line of monsters holding the bridge, and about 10 ft southwest of the towering Koran.....

Captain Kermit is about 10 ft north of Krar, and 10 ft west of Koran's back.....

Dwayne Lee is about 10 ft from the north end of the line of monsters, and about 30 ft north of Krar....

Grimm and Kate stand about 10 ft southwest of Dwayne Lee, and about 25 ft from the line of monsters at the bridge....

Radsworth and Mephos are another 10 ft further west than Grimm and Kate, about 35 ft from the line of monsters at the bridge....

Without many options at his disposal, Radsworth takes a cue from Mephos. Aiming Traveler at the same Stalker (assuming it lives), he channels fiery red magic through it's chamber. The bullet and scorching ray both streak towards a faceless stalker.

Bombs away, Grimm! :)


After Dr Grimm:

Pain!! The terrible pain!! These Fierce Ones are unstoppable! Why won't they just die like all the others!?

In Aklo: We must retreat, Slime-Shrouded Master! The Fierce Ones burn us with fire! We must escape the burning flames, Master!

One of the more badly burnt faceless stalker can endure the searing pain no more! It breaks from the line, complete withdraw from a square directly in front of Koran to leap southeastward into the canal, drawing an AoO from Koran as it passes through a square at 10-ft reach with his enlarged earth breaker!

No sooner does this first stalker break than the other two still standing make a break for it as well, complete withdraws, and dive into the canal behind their Slime-Shrouded Master....

NO!! The Fierce Ones were weakening.... Useless, simpering cravens! A few seconds more, and the warriors in front would fall, but no!! A few displays of fire, and my worthless, cowardly minions scurry like bugs!

Enraged, The Slime-Shrouded Master withdraws deeper into the canal, and the projected image he had been observing, casting, and speaking through fades away like a nightmare with the break of dawn....

The remaining four skum completely withdraw, diving off the bridge into the canal with a great splashing and sloshing!


Seeing the other monsters routed, the sinspawn succumb to panic and despair, and likewise flee the field of battle, loping off eastward across the bridge into the center of St Armand's Circle, making complete withdraws where necessary to avoid attacks of opportunity....
