Well, best wake The Lady of the Lake.... Arthur will be needing his sword again, what with Cthulhu's damned monsters hopping, crawling, and slithering all over creation.... Excalibur will make quick work of that nasty lot.... Oh, it's going to be great fun, fighting the Evil One again with Arthur and his knights!.... Apparently, Arthur has been reborn in a warmer clime.... Calling himself Derrik now, the silly boy.... We've much work to do....
Oh well then.

How d'ya like them apples! Lol...
I've got a nice toy in mind for Krar too....
The Buddha's Finger-Bone: unslotted +5 holy merciful amulet of mighty fists....

Derrik Stonesmith |

Oh I don't mind at all... it is perfectly fine.. your the GM it works out fine. If that was the vibe you got.. even better.. Though obviously Derrik wouldnt know this ... he's not even religious nor thinks highly of himself to tell the truth. It'll be fun to RP.

That's perfect. Of course he's not religious or conceited. A pure savior would be humble and unburdened by pride, or some extreme dogma.

Optionally, this finger-bone could be inlaid in the hilt of an anointed masterwork or magic temple sword, imparting the +5 holy merciful qualities, in addition to whatever magical qualities the weapon already possessed....

Okay, here are the artifacts extant in my Post-Apocthulhu Earth, and the PCs I imagine wielding them against Cthulhu and his minions.....
Daisy (Doc Holliday's Revolver): +5 reliable thundering seeking distance speed bane (humans) revolver; currently in the possession of Coal Withers, an evil spellslinger; I see Dwayne Lee Hooker poppin caps in Cthulhu's fat green ass with this baby....
Excalibur (King Arthur's Sword): +5 vorpal holy bane (evil outsiders) longsword; currently at the bottom of Loch Ness, in possession of The Lady of the Lake; I see Derrik choppin off heads with this bad boy....
Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer): +5 thundering shocking burst throwing distance returning bane (giants and evil outsiders) earth breaker; currently in the hands of Vampire Von Ulrik, captain of the Kraken; Koran, duh....
The Book of Thoth: tome has all known arcane spells inscribed within, grants possessor SR 25, a +10 competence bonus on Knowledge (arcana) checks and Spellcraft checks, and a +2 enhancement bonus on spellcaster level checks made to overcome SR; Radsworth, of course....
Mayan Crystal Skull: acts as all types of greater metamagic rod; currently possessed by serpent folk cultists of Yig; I see Mephos making 'this little oddball scream....
The Buddha's Fingerbone: unslotted +5 holy merciful ghost touch amulet of mighty fists that can also be inlaid in the hilt of a magic or mwk temple sword to add those special properties to the weapon; for Krar, of course.....
The Shroud of Turin: funeral shroud can cast true resurrection 1/day, heal 3/day; in the trap-riddled dungeons of Vatican City; for Kate, of course....
What'dya think?

Michael Johnson 66 |

He seems to be geared somewhat towards enchantment. perhaps a ridiculous mind-control hat.
Perhaps the Ankh of Ra: at will (CL 20th)--searing light, grants holder +5 resistance bonus on all saves, +5 deflection bonus to AC, and acts as all types of greater metamagic rods....

Michael Johnson 66 |

And Grimm! What kind of artifact would suit an alchemist? Perhaps....
The Philosopher's Stone: unslotted stone grants +10 competence bonus to possessor's Craft (alchemy) checks, adds +2d6 to damage dealt by possessor's alchemist bombs, can cast following spells 1/day each (CL 20th)--transformation, transmute metal to wood, transmute mud to rock, transmute rock to mud, major creation, polymorph any object, flesh to stone, stone to flesh....

Sounds cool. Also interesting would be a golem manual. Something that could uhh elp Grimm construct an alchemical sidekick? The stone is probably better though. BAleful polymorph?

Hmm, ya, baleful polymorph would be a good additional 1/day power for the stone.
Heheh, then again, I just got a funny mental pic of feral, three-armed gonzo Grimm riding piggy-back on an alchemical golem, or in one of those houdahs like elephant riders use, chucking bombs....

Half the time I would make it.. so its not too bad.. Even more so if the order is against my will OR I change my Judgement. Which we both know is going to be hard to avoid.

The SSM would see Krar and think "monk, too willfull', he'd see Derrik and think "looks kinda like a paladin, might make his save", he'd see big ass raging Koran knock the heads off two of his skum with one swing and think, "there's my dominate target"....
However, Kate just put protection from evil on Koran, which protects him from being commanded under domination....
The SSM's next target, realizing Koran is not playing along, would likely be a certain slack-jawed local yokel armed with an assault rifle....LOL

Michael Johnson 66 |

The loss of The SSM would bring the total count for titled monsters to 5:
The Lido Beach Horror (chuul, CR 7);
The Crawler Between Dimensions (phase spider, CR 5);
The Thing Under the Balcony (drider, CR 7);
The St Armand's Terror (gibbering mouther, CR 5);
The Slime-Shrouded Master (aboleth, CR 7).
A grievous blow to Cthulhu's forces on Lido Key, certain to soon be noticed by even more powerful monsters on the chain of command (evil outsiders that answer directly to Cthulhu himself!), which will want to find out who has wreaked this havoc!
The name of The Fierce Ones of Team Lido might soon be heard even by the Great Old One's own....um, hearing organs!
A bounty would soon be offered for their heads by Cthulhu, or at least by high ranking monsters and cult leaders working on the Great Old One's behalf, and evil bounty hunters of the nastiest (coolest) kind might soon be on their trail....

I welcome this challenge with open arms.. also just to inform you we are actually moving quite a but faster than a normal game.. as they are 4 hours sessions once a week.. so 4 sessions.. every 3-4 sessions you would level.. we have both RP'd and had combat all along this month... fluidly I might add. We also do not have to account for missed days in the month or missing players during the time. So in actuality we are going a bit faster by.. oh.. 7-8 sessions so about 2 months. This is a testament to the players and the GM. As it doesn't even feel rushed.. this is actual pacing by our decisions.

Michael Johnson 66 |

This is in the top 3 funnest campaigns I've ever participated in, GM or player! My retardedly awesome premise is part of it, but you guys' RP and characters are all equally a part of why I'm enjoying it so much.
Hopefully I'll be able to continue to keep it as exciting as its been so far, if not more so, to keep u guys' interest/enthusiasm up, which will inspire you to continue to RP and develop ur characters in interesting ways....

Same here.. Oh Grimm Im curious.. how did you increase your bombs radius.. or is that something different.. also remember only one takes that damage the rest take slash with a DC of 10+ 1/2 level + Int Reflex for 6 damage.. and I think that would gt either Koran or Derrik..

Derrik Stonesmith wrote:LOL! Thanks!Happy Cthagen Day Great Old One!
Also.. Ouck.. Im at 3... but soon.. SOOON.. I shall rise again! Unless you do somehow 19 damage in one hit again or some such..
No prob and Fey Foundling is boss like that..even if next round all the healing is 1's.. I will get 9 and that makes all the difference.

Dear Ruladin,
I don't know. I love theatre of the mind style, but I have no idea how far anything is without map, hence my earlier question. I waited til we were closer to lob bomb. I understand that they go no farther than 20 ft.and I only get one target. I try and aim for a grouping to take advantage of splash damage. I am fairly new to PF having only played the red box and AD&D in the 80, so beyond studying the manuals and boards ,I rely on the GM and others such as yourself to help me following RAW. I also do not wish to hurt my allies, so again without a map I have to take someone's word for the best place to strike. Hopefully this explains my playing style a bit better. Any help is appreciated as I am also having a blast playing with this group.
Thanks,
Grimm

Happy Birthday GM!
Thanks! :) Gonna celebrate this Sunday with a pool party, invited a bunch of hot chicks that I want to see in bikinis... LOL!
My GF will be there, of course, to temper the fun....LOL!Gonna grill some hotdogs and burgers, drink some beers, smoke some joints, get my swim-on and my flirt-on with the ladies.... Gonna be a right proper 40th Bday bash....

Ruladin is fine with your presence and playstyle Grimm and only notes that which is necessary even if it is unfortunate for himself. With games such as this however theatre of the mind requires certain leeway.. so far we have done well.
In other news.. NUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they got away.. we need to chase them! But we can't swim!. Also.. Mind controlled Koran and Lee.
