Mosquito Witch Handouts

Moved the Parry and Riposte ruling discussion to discussion.

With the roaring power of a thousand suns, Rahab uses his might and strength to strike clean into the heart of the undead. Black blood spews everywhere, all over him. But the creature remains standing, looking like it only took half of the power Rahab forced upon it.DR5/???

Waki waits for the opportune to strike, unsure what the right course of action is at the moment.

Benny quietly moves in to strike the creature but his feeble strike doesn't even touch it. Maybe he needs follow Rahab's lead and shout in rage so the strength of a thousand suns can descend upon him.

The water elemental strides alongside the Red cloaked undead, leaving a trail of water behind him. In his likely dying moments, he positions himself to flank with Rahab and slams at the undead. Hurting it slightly. The magical force scythe that floats nearby decides to finish the job, and strikes the elemental hard, bringing him to the brink of death. "Halp... halp..." It screams as water flies all over.

The red cloaked undead decides to bring his own sword and engages in a furious fight with Rahab, screaming unintelligible profanities in his face. "@*#*$(@&#&!" The strategy of screaming louder works effectively as Rahab downplays his defence in his raging moment and is hit by the sword right in the rib.

Elsewhere, Varuna and the Huecuva continue to engage in a epic battle of man versus beast! Sparks continue flying as they try to best each other in a battle of blade versus claw. Momentarily, the creature slips pass Varuna's defences gashing him in the side.

Time proves again the shouting the loudest is the most effective means for combat. Magt yells at the top of his lungs a fury a million waves, rushing and slicing the undead's head clean off it's body.

Combat Over!

The elemental continues to bleed off at the side.

Once they are taken out, you use whatever little time you have to search the shrine. The huecuva does not have anything of value. On the spellcaster, the Pathfinders find a partially distorted unholy symbol of Kelizandri, as well as a MW bastard sword of the finest crafting. In an alcove also lies a small cache of supplies including four potions of endure elements, two potions of cure light wounds, a potion of remove disease and a wand of lesser restoration with 5 charges.

I'll give you a guys a bit of healing time, and we'll move on in less than 12 hours.

It takes only a single charge from Rahab's wand to bring the elemental back into consciousness, though still weak and exhausted from the battle. He turns around seeing the fallen undead. "I.. do.. good?" He enquires in his dazed like state, although it's clear he is incapable of continuing the fight for the time being.

Nearby the altar, a depression in the floor leads to another chamber. The likely marks and dirt all over the area indicates it has been travelled recently. Out of better options, the group unanimously decides that this is likely the best path for exploration.

The ceiling of this deep chamber is barely visible in the distance. Stairways designed for giants connect multiple levels, and bright illumination wipes away the shadows, unlike most other areas on the asteroid. A central platform inscribed with arcane runes hangs carefully balanced in the center of this network of enormous pathways paths. The floor of the platform appears to be a never-ending cascade of earth, forever falling into a black void.

The illumination over your body from the radiation effects slowly diminish as you descend into the darkness. All light is voided eventually, leaving the place totally pitched black. The only feature on the first platform is a gaudy - but quite realistic statue of a horned demon, enfolded in its own wings. It has all kinds of symbols carved into it.

You will need a light source in here for those without darkvision. Updated map! Whatever effects/statuses would have concluded by the time you reach here.

★ - OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT - ★

Suddenly, your enemies turn and flee as a wave of Pathfinders comes roaring through the area. One of them, a little gnome in green glasses, calls out, "Sorrina's about to give a big announcement! You guys better come with us if you want to catch it!"

The asteroid groans as if an invisible weight had been lifted from it, leaving the air cleaner and breathing easier. The reassuring breeze emanating from tunnels suddenly drops in intensity, leaving a feeble stream that whistles weakly as it drifts off into space. A moment later, portals wreathed in tumbling stone open all across the asteroid, and Sorrina Westyr urgently beckons everyone to come through.

“We've truly grabbed the scorpion by the tail. Whatever entity was holding us at bay has loosened its grip, but it has redirected its efforts to cutting off the source of air that allows us to survive in this place. The path forward is no longer filled with lethal energy. We have at most…an hour or two before we must return home or face asphyxiation. But if we press forward and find the source of the air, I believe it is tied to whatever captive is imprisoned here. Our portal minders will stand ready in case we need to evacuate quickly.”

Sorrina leads the assembled Pathfinders toward the edge of an immense, steeply sloped tunnel that descends into a miles-wide, spherical cavern. A crude stone fortress floats near the cave's center as if it were a rocky sun, and enormous slabs of earth orbit it like a miniature asteroid belt. These slabs gravitate inward toward the fortress, but periodic blasts of air slow their approach and cast the jagged masses back toward the edge of the cavern. Each gust is slightly weaker than the last.

Robed figures cling to the rocky slabs and chant loudly, as if empowering the stone. Unimpressed, Sorrina Westyr casts a spell at one of the distant cultists and flings him off his crude platform.

Aiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee!” The cultist screams, arms and legs askew as he hurtles toward the fortress and collides with its surface with a faint splat.

“Woo hoo, Bullseye!” Drandle Dreng claps, then goes back to organizing a party of Pathfinders who are busily unpacking knotted ropes. “Hurry, there’s not a moment to lose!”

“We must get to that fortress,” Sorrina announces before signaling others to lower knotted ropes down to the cavern. “Clear off the opposition, then we'll make our way inside. I find it reassuring that whatever lies within the fortress has an aura of good, and no doubt seeks our aid.”

Part III Begins!
We have 25 of the 150 Clues We Need -- Now, go find the rest!

Liberty's Edge

Mosquito Witch Handouts

The ground shakes violently, the elementals that were in the midst of attacking you flee in fear for their own safety. Without hesitation, you rush and follow the holographic image of Sorrina Westyr deeper into the asteroid. Soon you see many other pathfinders congregating, together heading deeper into the vault. big pathfinders, small pathfinders with all sorts of colours!

You soon find yourself standing on the edge, looking down a tunnel, giant masses of floating rock and debris flying over the edge, each slowly gravitating themselves closer to the ground. Society agents lower knotted ropes down the sloping tunnel that drops into the immense spherical cavern where the fortress presumably awaits. Each of you follow Sorrina's lead, and start grappling down your own ropes waiting for the perfect opportunity.

A rune-scribed floating island begins drifting beneath the tunnel and brushing against the lowered ropes. “These rocky fragments gravitate toward the fortress,” Sorrina shouts as she hangs from a rope. “If we can cling on before it travels out of reach, it should carry it toward our destination.” The iceberg-sized rock spins slightly, revealing a host of undead cultists that cease their chanting, point toward the Pathfinders, and let loose unholy wails. “Now!” cries the Master of Spells, and agents begin rappelling down to the crude platform.

At this point, Sorinna is instructing the pathfinders to jump onto this huge rock and use it to gravitate slowly to the fortress below down the end of the tunnel. We start this encounter with each of you suspended 15ft above the rock. You may climb down to the rock. It is a knotted rope, i.e. DC10, however you may not take 10 as we immediately find ourselves in combat. Assume the rope is touching the rock.

However, nothing is ever easy on this forsaken asteroid. On the floating rock island, skeleton like looking creatures await the pathfinders to fend off their coming in great numbers. Two of them find you in their sights and look intend to kill. One creature you recognize from an earlier encounter, a skeleton like spellcaster carrying a bastard sword. The other one an armored skeleton holding a longsword, It stands in a battle-ready pose, its weapon held high as cold blue light shines in its eye sockets. DC12 to identify the second one

@ GM: Varuna's base speed is only 20ft, so moving at 1/4 speed he would never make it. He simply jumps down, acrobatics to negate 10 ft of fall damage. And did you mean Will instead of Reflex on that roll?

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Knowing how slow he tends to be, Varuna decides his best course of action is to simply jump down to the floating rock. He lands with a gracious tumble, only skinning his knee a bit in the process. The wayang stands and draws his rapier and prepares for combat.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 acrobatics

Seeing the waylang be all acrobatic and stuff and knowing that he too is small and slow to get down in a speedy manor, he follows the example and shows off his acrobatic skills as well.

will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Argent charges up his sword and tries to strike the undead beast in front of him, seeing the immediate threat as a bigger priority than getting down the rope.

longsword, power attack, spellstrike, corpse hunter: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 1 = 22 for 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 15 slashing magic damage.

Varuna, I meant "climb" on that roll as a second climb attempt. I had reflex at first cause I thought you would have fall, but didn't correct it after noticing your climb modifier. So you are still outstanding a will save.

Vosk, the undead is at ground level, how would you attack him from up 15ft with a longsword? what is corpse hunter?

Rahab looks on down, then at his rope. YOU WILL NOT LET THEM DIE!

Acrobatics: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (5) - 5 = 0

Without a moment's hesitation, Rahab lets go of the rope and falls down the fifteen feet.

falling damage if 15 feet counts as 10: 1d6 ⇒ 2
falling damage if 15 feet counts as 20: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

"GORUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMM!!!" howls the warpriest as he meteors down, straight upon his back. In a flash he gets up, drawing his blade as he does so. "NOW YOU UNDEAD WRETCH! FIGHT ME, SO I CAN MAKE YOU EAT THAT BASTARD SWORD!"

And a five foot step forward. End turn!

Sorry, hard to tell the 3D element. See the 15 ft now. If possible, would like to climb/slide down to range of the undead. Nexian Corpse Hunter is a trait for +1 dmg vs undead

Varuna and Benny realises the climb is too much of a challenge and risk themselves and land gracefully upon the hard rock, getting ready for the upcoming battle with the creatures.

Rahab intends to follow suit, but let's go of the rope to early to find himself falling and grazing his knee as he knocks into a rock at impact.
Vosk is able to fend off the mind attack of the spellcasting undead and climbs down normally.

Rahab & Vosk, you are also pending a DC15 Will save from the red undead's gaze.

Gaze attack from earlier post:
The red bony creatures looks very scary to you, you feel chills down your spine. You must succeed at a DC 15 Will saving throw or be shaken for 1d4 rounds. This is a mind-affecting fear effect.

The shouting from Rahab enrages the undeads. The spellcaster starts casting a spell and creates a scythe out of pure dark matter energy, that makes it way to Rahab striking through his armor. It looked threatening, but was unable to deal a lethal blow.

Spiritual weapon: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Spiritual weapon; crit?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 223d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6, 8) + 3 = 19
Aren't you lucky! :P

I destroy that which frightens me, you unnatural thing! Magt moves up to the creature, grows in size and slashes it with a claw.

How about another one of these!

I'm going to help speed us up. I'll delay blue so it acts with Red, so everyone is up!

Funny things natural weapons, claw is threated as bludgeoning/slashing. Magt do you have fast healing? You would have needed 2 move actions to climb down at round 1, so I don't think you had time to tap yourself with the wand.

Magt turns himself in to a bigger form of himself and starts to deal some pain to the undeads! He strikes a nice big hole in the undead's chest with a punch form his claws.
