"It's a demon; we need cold iron or something good or holy to harm it!" Kolris fishes around in his haversack as he calls out this advice, then drops a vial on the edge of the stage. "This will help, if you don't have anything else!"
He begins making his way towards the demon, hoping to pen it into the corner.

Hamish shies away from the massive fireball and yells, "spread out so it can't do that again! I've got cold iron that can hurt it but I need a second!"
He drops his flail to the ground, "more in the pack Terrance, keep the pressure on!" Pulling a vial out of his pack, he slathers the liquid inside onto a dagger in his pack.
Free to drop flail, Move to draw oil of magic weapon, Standard to activate the oil on his cold iron dagger.

Kolris presses the attack, swinging his rapier as he dances nimbly on the tabletop. Goodness, but this still feels incredibly ineffective! We might be in real trouble here....
Even as he strikes, again and again, his head swivels and his eyes scan the room, hoping to see hopeful signs from the other Pathfinders.

If it's a large demon...I'm inside it and should move. :-P
Pointing to the far side of the beast, "Kolris, flank this abomination with me. It'll improve our chances!"
Seeing as Kolris has damaged the creature, he swings his blade in an overly elaborate fashion...attempting to distract the beast.

Umbrato, round 5 was the last round of haste, correct? [/ooc]
You are correct. My bad. It would appear I failed to realize the #6 is after #5. :-P

GM Nowruz |

You see that the shadow demon retreats slightly when the cold iron weapon hits it but you notice that the weapon has no effect at all ... the shadow is incorporeal!
8 damage going through DR but the weapon is not not magical so no damage due to incorporeal.

Mosi darts across the stage, knowing exactly how to put the vail of holy weapon balm to good use. He chides himself for putting his own vail on his regular shuriken instead of the cold iron versions he has. A hard lesson learned, and hopefully applied at a later time.
Mosi reaches down to pick up the vial after scrambling over and pops the cork, ready to dump it onto his pile of cold iron shuriken.
Move action to go over, move action to pick it up. Next round I can apply, then the round after that I can start throwing. Unless you all take him down first. Crazy ghost demon... Yeesh!

Syl'las moves over into the corner and hopes her comrades can pull this off.

GM Nowruz |

The demon laughs like a child that is possessed!
"Hiiii hhhhhaaaa hhhhhhss hhhhhss hhaaaaaa hiiiii .... "
Seeing that Kolris has a cold iron weapon it tries to get away from him and moves farther away.

Syl'las moves her way through the tables and calls upon The Grace of Minatan Heroes. She then places her hand upon Kolris' blade. It glows bright with magical energy.
You tackle the demon, I will try to get the others on there feet.
I looked through my chronicles to see if I could find anything. I found THIS. Grace of Minatan. It makes a weapon magical. That should help get past it's incorporeal defenses a bit

![]() |

Great work, Syl'las! I was digging through my chronicles as well, but couldn't find anything helpful!
Assuming that Syl'las' boon doesn't take effect in time for this AoO, is there really any reason to roll it vs. incorporeal?

Sunlight is streaming in more and more now-- the young guard's slashing at the canvas has opened a rent on one side, and the dazed guests stumble out. The growing hole in the roof floods the pavilion with an increasing amount of light, and within a minute's time the biggest danger will be fire, rather than monsters.
But a minute's time is long enough for the Pathfinders to blink, and breathe, and realize that the moment of crisis is past: that Arastrax is not going to strike at you from the shadows, that he truly is gone. It's long enough to start herding the guests out into the light. Even though she is shaken and injured, Hamaria's air of command reasserts itself in directing the guests to leave the pavilion.
Seek the light.
As the Pathfinders-- several of them badly wounded-- stumble out into the honest daylight once more, Rubani Shafar runs up, panting. Her armor is smeared with blood, as is the hooked blade of her weapon. She relaxes marginally when she sees Hamaria Blakros alive.
The other guards are straggling together to converge on the central area, next to the burning pavilion. Everyone seems dazed, bemused, shaken by the violent and sudden demonic assault that had occurred at several points on the island.
Nigel Aldane kneels by his wife in the dirt, both of their fine clothes torn and disheveled, talking softly with each other.
Jeon Reang-Woo looks as though the horrors of the fight have brought him into a sudden and sharp aging. He kneels by the wounded Pathfinders and heals them!
Bringing what comfort he can although his divine energies are quickly expended.
Some of the guests are past his ability to help, and the young Tien bows his head over each.
Damien Kastner has found a sword somewhere-- its blade is dark with demon blood as well. He sets it aside to stiffly embrace his wife.
Alexander Bedard tells any who will listen that he slew three of the demons himself, with a tankard blessed by Cayden Ceilean.
You've lived, Pathfinders. Take stock of yourselves, lick your wounds, breathe the clean air of another day's survival.

GM Nowruz |

Hamaria Blakros seeks out the Pathfinders after the most grievously injured have been healed, Shafar at her side.
She gives them a solemn nod.
”It appears we owe the Pathfinder Society another debt. Your intervention there with that... thing... wearing our captain's body undoubtedly saved many lives here. You held it at bay for precious seconds, buying time for those less able to escape the horrors it and its minions would have wrought on us. My guests all owe you a debt!“

![]() |

I have a feeling that isn't good... at least we didn't kill the human!
Edit: Ninja'd!
Mosi bows politely. "I only wish we could have killed the demon, but I am grateful your captain lives, and grateful so many people escaped more serious harm."
"Tell me Lady Blakros, is there any other way we can be of service to you now? Thanks to Jeon Reang-Woo expert healing, we are able and willing to continue to help." Mosi's smile carries a small grimace, a mental remnant of the shadow flames that just engulfed him, even if the actual wounds are gone.

Hamish releases the breath he didn't even know he was holding as the shade bolts through the cloth. Moving quickly, he touches Terrance on the shoulder, stopping the bleed and healing him. Darting over to Mosi, he does the same and then helps his allies escape the tent.
Once outside, he confirms they are out of danger and dashes back inside to drag the demon's vessel out as well. Sweat dripping off his forehead he collapses in the sunlight, "well that sucked. Seriously worst wedding EVER!"
