Cassiopeia Nereus
Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Nothing of consequence.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
That's pretty much all I have is Pirate skills! Just not those three...
Not great at navigation, Ashlei makes sure to introduce the young 1/2 elf to the island's resident Sea Nymph as a 'very' ample distraction!
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
A bunch of Pirate skills, just not those specific ones
Closing her eyes for a moment, Rhialla concentrates, whispering a quick prayer to Besmara as a rush of memory washes over her bringing a powerful recollection of every major detail of their navigation throughout the shackles, and around their new island so far. While it is all still fresh in her head, she quickly sketches a relatively impressive course.
Knowledge Geography (Inexplicable luck): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Putting all the obscure feat choices to work today
GM_DBH
Captain Mase Darimar is impressed, both by your knowledge of the waters of the Shackles, and by your befriending an aquatic fey.
He presents you with his gift. A large, intricately decorated Conch horn. Horn of the Tritons.
Following the first course and the unexpected rat infestation in the kitchen, you and you guests can finally enjoy the main course. As you converse with Mase Darimar, Audessa's courtesans bring more food and rum to the table.
Are you doing anything as this happens?
Cassiopeia Nereus
Does our captain have a food taster?
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Given the possibility that the rats may not have been an accident, Rhialla intermittently casts an orison, allowing her to detect poison as food is brought out.
Will spam detect poison as food is being served.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Ash starts a ‘dirtiest joke’ contest among the those present, the dirtiest gets…a favor from Ashlei! The courtesans get to decide the winners!
Profession Sailor (Dirty Joke!): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Esmarelda Valarie
Esmarelda smiled to herself as she watched things while moving through the party, she had remained while the others had handled the kitchen issue. Which was good as she had no form of area control. So she remained around the captains and their crews. Doing her best to entertain them as she could, but honestly outside of singing she wasn't much of a performer.
When Ashlei started the joking contest slipped in next to Avimar, her golden eyes shimmer as she said "Would you like to join in Captain? I am sure you would win, and I'd love to hear the jokes you'd make."

" A joke? All i got is why did the pirate get kicked out of the Brothel?"
He paused taking a sip of his cup of rum letting it build.
"Because he kept trying to pay with his booty."
"
Cassiopeia Nereus
Cass cleans off her hands of the odd goop and resumes enjoying the festivities.
She chuckles at the captain's joke and says, "And here I thought you always wanted to join in, cap'n!"
"So can anyone enter the competition, or is this just for our guests?" she says with a smirk.
Cassiopeia Nereus
"So a ship puts in to port and the sailors all rush off to spend their money on land and a group of them head for the nearest house of ill repute. They roll in and say they're there to have their masts waxed. The madam is only too happy to accept their coins and direct them in back to pick out their ladies of their desire and enjoy themselves in back."
"A couple minutes later another gang of pirates come in, looking to have their keels hauled, and they have a lot of money to spend, so the madam says that they can have their choice of courtesans in the back, or they can wait their turn with the ladies who are occupied, and they agree loudly and head in back."
"Then a third sailor comes in, and he has one leg and one eye, and he says he's there to have his deck scrubbed, but then he pauses and says he'll go to another establishment. The madam says, wait, we have plenty of ladies of the evening, are you sure you won't partake? And he says no thanks, he can tell that they're already full of seamen."
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Good ones so far! I will save my joke for the end...
GM_DBH
Esmarelda. Avimar Sorrinash looks at you without recognition and tells you to make yourself useful by getting under the table and pleasuring him!
As the meal progresses you can feel yourselves becoming sickened! In fact most of the guests look to be in the same state. Only a few don't seem to be effected?
Only those that have not drunk the rum or eaten the food are sickened. Those that only drunk the rum, or just ate the food are those not effected?
What are you doing?
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud

Given the possibility that the rats may not have been an accident, Rhialla intermittently casts an orison, allowing her to detect poison as food is brought out.
Will spam detect poison as food is being served.
Did you miss this?
Cassiopeia Nereus
Cass looks a bit greenish and says, "Oh no. It's a binary poison: The two parts are harmless by themselves. They only become a poison when they're combined."
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Intelligence(Sabotagge!): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Ashlei starts cussing up a storm, and draws a dagger.
”Time to start hunting! I bet its a were-rat ex-captain too!”
Cassiopeia Nereus
"Do we have... urp... any antidoes? Anti-nausea? Ugh..."
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
I have two vials of anti-toxin. Can we multiply that magically or alchemically somehow?I will hand those off, and start looking for the poisoner.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Rhialla frowns looking to her companions as some at the table begin to show signs of illness. "I can eliminate the contaminants in the food and liquor so it won't affect anyone else, but for those already affected, I can help whichever of our guests is affected the worst. she says, taking the anti-toxin from Ash.
I can hit the whole table with Purify Food and Drink, which will eliminate the poison elements in them (12sq ft per casting). I only have a single Neutralize Poison prepared, though, but between that and the anti-toxin, we can at least take care of the VIP's

Bloodmourn: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Darimar: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
I should have told you to make a Fort save DC20. If you make it you are not sickened!
Of your three important guests only Captain Sorrinash looks to be sickened by the poison. Captain's Bloodmourn & Darimar are uneffected.
What are you doing?

Holding back a grin at the dangerous captains look of discomfort Percival couldnt help but smirk.
He wiped the smirk off his face turning to his lover and whispering.
"See what you can do for Captain Sorrinash will you please?"
he turned to Ash motioning her over. He desperately wanted to handle this himself but if he did it woudl be obvious and noted.
"Find one of our competant officers Randal perhaps or Sandara. Keep an eye on the kitchens and the kegs of liqour. just in case they try again."
Cassiopeia Nereus
Fort save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
I would say Ashlei would have just been 'drinking' her dinner, but that would require its own save probably...
Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
GM_DBH
The room is filled with people enjoying themselves, due to the noise and partying most haven't noticed the poisoned food & drink.
Those who aren't drinking the rum are not getting ill?
Captain Sorrinash however is looking very ill.
Ok, Sorrinash is sickened, you'll need Bluff or Diplomacy to calm him down and let any healing magic be used on him.
Anyone looking for troublemakers needs to make Perception checks.
What are you doing now?
Esmarelda Valarie
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Esmarelda felt her stomach twist in several different ways. She had planned to make a joke with Sorrinash's own but found herself unable to even comment on it as the illness washed over her. 'This isn't good... I would say this is going rather poorly...' She thought to herself before she waved Rhialla but nodded her head to Sorrinash.

Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Subtly moving around the table, laying a Blessing of the Pirate Queen upon the bounty being served, Rhialla catches the subtle signal from Esmeralda...and the far more obvious look on her face indicating she's also feeling ill.
Making a point of taking a few minutes to check in on each of their honored guests, she eventually makes her way over to Captain Sorrinash, asking him how he is feeling, implying that there may be a bug caught by a member or two of te crew that may be catching, and offering to help with a blessing of the Pirate Goddess.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Going around casting Purify Food and Drink on the food only (to eliminate hald of the combination poisin and not affect the alcohol content of the rum and wine
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Is there anyone here at the party we could safely ask for help from to help locate the saboteur? Isn't one of our guest's a werewolf? That's the best I have. Also...warn all our known crew and servants to only drink or eat, not both. We don't need to have half our people on their backside tonight.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
With his permission, Rhialla beseeches Besmara's blessing on Sorrinash, alleviating his discomfort.
Cast Neutralize Poison on Sorrinash
Cassiopeia Nereus
"Rhialla, divination magic isn't really my forte, what can I do to help?" asks Cassiopeia.
She rolls around the incantation for heightened awareness in her head, thinking that maybe she should cast it if she's going to be on the lookout for suspicious signs... of who-knows-what.

Doing what he could to disupt Sorinash's eye torwards Audessa he began talking about feats of strength and how wenches couldnt resist a strong man. He tried to make an impromptu strong man compition suggestion they find something really heavy to take turns trying to lift.

Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
What about the 'EYE'? Doesn't that allow someone to see things that can't be seen? It just makes you blind to normal stuff too! Could we use that somehow? If Cassie uses the eye, I can lead her around...and maybe find whoever is poopin' on our party!
Cassiopeia Nereus
All the Eye of Serenity does is slow down time for you (relative) and let you see funky cyclops stuff, right? I don't know that it has any inherent useful divination powers?
Sorry gang, but I just do not have any spells useful for this kind of situation.
Esmarelda Valarie
Esmarelda took note of Sorrinash's eyeing Audessa. She met Audessa's eyes and then looked towards the kitchen before getting Rhialla's attention and motioned for her to aid Audessa. She had planned a distraction so long as Audessa could start getting to the sidelines, and Rhialla could be ready to whisk her away.
Slight of hand: 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 19 - 2 = 27
She moved one of Sorrinash's dishes closer to the edge ever so slightly so that when he moved even the smallest amount it would cause the whole dish to end up on his clothes and there would be no one to blame but himself. Though knowing that he could lash out of course and she did sit in the blast zone yet... she believed it was worth it.
'The things we do for others...' She thought to herself with a small grin pulling at her lips.

You manage to distract the surly Captain and the feast continues mostly enjoyably for all involved. It begins to come to an end late at night with people slipping away. By themselves or with company if they were more successful at their flirting.
As things are wrapping up one of Audessa's courtesans approaches you and confesses that he was instructed to serve Avimar Sorrinash a drink mixed with a powerful aphrodisiac.
The young man tells you that while he was throwing out scraps in the back alley, a beautiful woman approached him and asked him to serve Lord Sorrinash a specially prepared drink. It never even occurred to the man to refuse her?
It is obvious he was under some form of mental control.
When you ask the young man for the woman's description, you can quickly surmise that the woman in the alley was the nereid Sefina-who up until now has remained a completely trustworthy and helpful ally?
As you discover this betrayal, your guests are retiring for the night,
either making their way to any lodgings you have prepared for them or returning to their ships.
No sign of Sefina in your fort. What are you doing now?
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Ashlei curses and stabs some wooden pillars to let some of her anger off.
"What did that water witch think she was doing? Could it have been someone looking like her? That Hag we heard about could be wandering around too...they could shape shift. Right? Magical witches and all...GREAT! More enemies we need to deal with!"
Esmarelda Valarie
"I'm going to see them down to the ships. I want to make sure nothing else happens... poisoning, messing with one of the captains. If you haven't notice all of their little attempts haven't done what they would have wanted them to. So whomever this is, might try something more... and I'd prefer to be ahead of it this time." Esmarelda said to the group before she headed off to look things over before the Captains could get aboard their ships.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
"Agreed. Once they're clear though, we need to find Sefina and get to the bottom of her treachery. What in the nine hells would she have to gain from this?" Rhialla voices.
Percival Asploric
|
"Good call Es take a few crew with you. if you see anything suspicious well fina a way to get word."
He had to travel with the captains of course pomp and circumstance and all that.
Esmarelda Valarie
"And with that, we're good there." Esmarelda said as she watched the ships sail off.
"So, what is our next move?" She asked the others with a raised brow. "Still Sefina to sort out after all."
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Ashlei curses...yet again.
"Let's talk to Sefina tonight. If we wait, she may try to run away."
Cassiopeia Nereus
"Yeah. Um... set up for underwater, right? Water breathing and such?"
