Vrockwing |
[ooc]do I have any points left... if I do I will put 1 on AC and attack will miss.... you. take - 2 atk from shaken and I get + 2 def from body guard or whatever so we tie and if I have 1 point left I will use it to not be hit

DM Beckett |
Bodyguard wouldn't apply, he was to far away (I think, I'll let Gunner explain that one) at the time. I really don't know how many points you have left (that's why I asked people to post them at the end of each round to track) :P If you do, you can use them, though. Also note, that -27 is the total damage taken, not your current HP.
Gunner takes Tengu 1 down hard. and can move if he wants to.
ROUND 3
Rufus, Wyran, and Torean
----------------------------------------------------------------
Kwankhonu (-5) and Jikon (-8),
Tengu 2(-7), Tengu 3(-9), Tengu 4(), and Tengu 5()
---------------------------------------------------------------
Vrockwing (-27), Gunner, Sudara, and Kami (-8)
Vrockwing |
I knew it was total and I am at 7/10 I am going to role stabiliz/heal check if needed stabilize: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (9) - 4 = 5 heal: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
-Posted with Wayfinder
Rufus Tealeaf |
Rufus fires another arrow, this time at the nearest one. Tengu 2
Attk: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
If my attack misses I will use 2 points to improve it. If it hits and the Tengu dont die I will use the same 2 points as extra dmg.
Pool Points 8/10
Wyran Mesari |
Wyran watches Vrock fall to the ground and immediately starts to pool his divine power, reaching out to touch the fallen companion.
Fervor: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Not much but at least you should stabilize.
Torean Spellbane |
After the cut by the samurai, Torean retreats back, but tries to take out one of the lesser bandits too. "Watch out! He packs a wallop!"
5 foot step and Attack #3
Attack (DF, Bless): 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 12
Damage (DF): 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
He'll use defense points to bring up his attack to hit #3. currently at 0/10
DM Beckett |
He'll use defense points to bring up his attack to hit #3. currently at 0/10
How much are you spending?
Torean Spellbane |
I thought I could use them blindly like that. If not, then I'll use 5 to bring his hit up to 17. Hopefully that's enough to hit #3.
DM Beckett |
That's enough, I just wasn't sure how much you where spending or how much you had left. But that will do it, and drop that guy.
Kami and Sudara charge closer, attacking Tengu 5.
Kami Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Sudara: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Spending 4 points to hit
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Tengu 5 tries to swipe at Kami.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 <miss>
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Tengu 4 tries to slide by and go for Sudara, drawing an AoO for his trouble, dropping him before he can take five full steps..
AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Kwan spurs his faithful mount around, avoiding threatened areas to get to Gunner, Wyran, and Torean. <Ride-By-Attack>
Attack Gunner: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 <HIT>
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
AB Attack Wyran: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 <HIT>
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Might be able to negate some of that.
ROUND 3
Rufus, Wyran (-14), and Torean
-----------------------------------------------------------
Kwankhonu (-5), Jikon (-8), and Tengu 4 (-7)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Vrockwing (-25), Gunner (-6), Sudara, and Kami (-8)
Wyran Mesari |
Wyran is just burning through his defense points, but OWW... add 5 to AC. 3/10 Remaining
Wyran feels Kwankhonu charge and just barely escapes, feeling weapons scrape against his armor.
He steps up closer to the mounted enemy and swings at Jikon hoping to dismount the rider.
Scimitar: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 14 Sigh my attack rolls hate me
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
DM Beckett |
You did hit, and dropped Tengu 2. With Bless, you do not need to boost your attack or Damage. I'll recheck, but I think you can spend as much as you need.
<EDIT> Actually, looking back, yes, you can only spend a max of your level. However, it only applies to a single thing, so if you boost your attack, it only applies to that single attack, and you could also spend more points to add to damage for that attack. In each case, you can only spend your level. I think it maybe a time or two of trying to negate a hit might not have worked, but to late now. I'm not going to go back and change anything, but it looks like Wyran gets hit, and from this point on, level is the limit you can spend on any single roll.
Gunnar Sigrunsson |
Gunnar steps forward and swings his axe, though primarily keeping his guard up. He fails to connect with the tengu leader, but is ready to defend allies that come close.
Battleaxe Attack fighting defensively: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 8
Battleaxe Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
I can use Saving shield on any adjacent ally. I can use bodyguard only when I threaten whomever is attacking you. I wasn't adjacent to you or the big guy when you went down Vrock, so, sadly, I can't help there.
Bodyguard 1: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11
Bodyguard 2: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
Bodyguard 3: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11
+6 AC to an ally on big guy/mounts first attack, and +4 against their third attack (assuming they get 3). I am at 21 AC from fighting defensively.
Torean Spellbane |
Torean swings his hammer at the final bandit.
Attack (DF, Bless): 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 21
Damage (DF): 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
If he kills him, the dwarf draws his wand of Cure Light Wounds.
DM Beckett |
Kami advances, while Sudara charges.
Longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Crit Damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (7, 1, 6) + 9 = 23
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Kwan and Jikon retaliate by attacking back.
Katana vs Sudara AC 17: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 <miss>
Bite vs Sudara AC 17: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 <HIT>
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Jikon Bite vs Rufus AC 21: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 <miss>
ROUND 4
Rufus, Wyran (-14), and Torean
-----------------------------------------------------------
Kwankhonu (-28, bad), Jikon (-8)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Vrockwing (-25), Gunner (-6), Sudara (-2), and Kami (-8)
I'll be heading home from vacation soon, and better able to post more often.
DM Beckett |
Yes, that's correct. I apologize if I didn't explain that.
Torean Spellbane |
Bold means you can act, Sudara. Basically, it's just us, then them now anyway though.
Torean uses the wand on Vrockwing, while keeping an eye on the fighting.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Gunnar Sigrunsson |
Gunnar takes another swing at the mounted tengu but once again fails to connect. He does, however, manage to interfere with the tengu's own attempts at landing blows.
Battleaxe Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Battleaxe Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Bodyguard 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Bodyguard 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Bodyguard 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
While I can't bloody hit anything, at least all 3 bodyguards go through. +6 vs. their first attack, +4 vs. the other two.
Rufus Tealeaf |
Stepping back Rufus fires an arrow on the tengu samurai aiming for the head.
If regular attk hits it spend 3 pool points on extra dmg.
Attk: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Dmg: 1d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 3 = 9
5/10 pool
DM Beckett |
Rufus drops the "Tengu Emperor", leaving only his mount. Sudara and Kami adjust and strike, hoping to finish the beast off.
Sudara: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 <miss>
Kami: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 <miss>
Torean uses his wand to return Vrockwing to the lands of the living and back into the fight. While Gunner attacks. He misses, but is able to get into position to block some incoming attacks.
Stepping forward to try to head the head of the man that killed his rider, Jokon goes after Rufus.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
ROUND 5
Jikon (-8)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Gunner (-6), Sudara (-2), Kami (-8), Rufus, Wyran (-14), Torean, and Vrockwing (-19)
DM Beckett |
Can I get everyone to go to the Recruitment thread, and redo their reporting info. :)
DM Beckett |
A little. Your healing happens in Round 5, and because you went before Vrockwing, it allows him to get up and act this round. I think part of it is because I acted for a few players and the other part is I didn't bold who was up at the top of the page for Round 3 going into 4.
Wyran Mesari |
Wyran steps up to the mount and swings his scimitar
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 = 8
Assuming attack hits, spend 2 point on damage. 6/10
DM Beckett |
ROUND 5
Jikon (-25)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Gunner (-6), Sudara (-2), Kami (-8), Rufus, Wyran (-14), Torean, and Vrockwing (-19)
Gunnar Sigrunsson |
Gunnar steps up and swings his axe at the large bird, inflict a deep rend through its neck and throat.
Battleaxe Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Battleaxe Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9
Battleaxe Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Battleaxe Crit Damage: 2d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1) + 8 + 2 = 17
May as well spend a few points to do extra damage. I assume I can spend 1 point for each time I roll weapon damage on the crit or is it just once total? Either 8/10 or 6/10 left depending on whether I can add to each damage die.
Kami no Sosen |
Growling, Kami snaps his toothy maw low at the Ax Beak, then whips his horns and tail at the stalwart animal.
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Horn: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Tail: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
DM Beckett |
And with that, the beast is down.
CONCLUSION
The battle ends once Kwankhonu is dead and his remaining tengu army retreats or throw themselves on the villager’s mercy. Victory does not come free, of course; for nearly all of the villagers have been wounded, many severely, others fatally. These honored fallen are buried in the hills overlooking the home they gave their lives for; in spite of this, Nesting Swallow celebrates its victory. For the first time in years, the village looks forward to living free of banditry.
Je Tsun honors her bargain, isolating herself in her home with the Braid of a Hundred Masters for a day and a night. That night, as she prays and meditates, the slow storm that had rolled in vanished. When she emerges with a smile, the braid is restored to its ancient potency. ”I thank you for this opportunity, Pathfinders. In order to reactivate the Braid of a Hundred Masters, I, . . my ancestors came to me. They explained the history of the Braid events that lead up to Irori’s withholding of his power from it. Last night, while in a deep trance, I spoke to him. He offered me that chance to explain why the Braid should once more become a true relic. The only thing I could say, was to tell him of all you have done here. What I have witnessed of your deeds and character. That was enough. I give to you, . . . the true Braid of a Hundred Masters.”
Even now, activated, the use of the relic is difficult to discern, but Pathfinders in the Lantern Lodge in Goka are undoubtedly eager to begin their work examining the powerful item. It takes a great deal of time, and you victorious return pleases Amara Li greatly. Once they have finished studying the Braid, she personally offers it up to you, claiming that she has a feeling it was meant for you.
