As Torean looks on the next bandit coming towards the wall, a spear comes hurtling past his head. It strikes the bandit's horse deep in the neck and the horse panics. It rears up and tosses its rider to the ground and gallops full speed into one of the buildings. The speed of the horse's own weight drives the spear in further and snaps its neck, finishing the job.
The dwarf looks back to congratulate the mighty warrior and finds only an old man, sprawled on the ground. His side is bleeding heavily from arrows and it's obvious effort of the throw had caused him to collapse. He raises his head weakly. "Had...to...help." His head falls back and he lies still.

You manage to take out the vast majority of the second wave quickly. Wyran holds for a moment until a target come into range, then slices at the perfect moment. His blade catches the charging rider just right, using his own momentum to take his head clean off.
The remaining troops turn and flee, but only make it a little before a new figure, mounted on a large predatory bird steps out from the brush to stop them. You can not hear what is said, but he (or she) suddenly draws a katana and kills all three of the fleeing attackers. He then turns his mount to face you.
Looking around you, you see that most of your troops, while not dead, have fallen or been carried off the field. The barricade will not hold. Your archers are out of ammunition, or very close to it, your infantry is basically no-existent, though a few brave folks still insist on standing their ground out of pride, but it's clear that they don't have anything left. The barricades are littered with the dead, dying, and wounded on both sides, and will not hold much longer. The air is hazy with smoke and it is hard to tell where to go to next in order to aid the farmers. A bloodthirtsy screech coming from the north is enough to signify the most dangerous threat yet, however.
Katana still in hand, he simply stares at you for a few long moments. This warrior, the bandit's general, is wearing masterwork steel armor, as is his mount. His mount is an exotic creature, an Axe Beack for it is known for being able to bite straight through armor and sunder shields with ease. It is armored as well. The rider also has a shield. Once he has allowed the terror he inspires set in, he calls out to you. "Outlanders! I am Kwankhonu. Samurai, what you call knight. I am the emperor of the Tengu, who have long been tormented, ensaved, and derided by the hands of man, elf, dwarf, and the like. I challenge you! Come, face me in the field of honor and blood. No mercy given and no quarter asked. If you defeat me, than this village is free. If I defeat you, it is mine. If you are cowards, I will simply regather my strength and destroy every single person, both here and every hobble, farm, or backwater I stumble upon within a weeks travel from here, so that all of this land will know of your weakness and fear! Not a one will be spared. I will make them suffer, and just before I let them die, after watching all the others die, I will whisper to them that it was you that brought this upon them.
Let me know what you want to do, I'm going to change the map and reroll init if you want to fight.

New map is up
Calling you out like chumps, Kwankhonu, Emperor of the Tengu leads you out to a more open field for your final encounter. He insist that you take a moment to make peace with the divine, claiming that he will not have his own honor sullied by foreigners as weak as you, not those that have not been given the chance to prepare themselves for the next world once he stomps the life from you.
As you ready yourselves, dark clouds roll in, and a small rain begins to fall. Lightning splits the sky dramatically, as sudden thunder nearly deafens you for a moment. Everything begins to slow. You look around you, at this foreign land and their odd customs. You recall the tales of the Sky Spirits and wonder if they are watching, and what they will see.
