Revered. Worshiped. Reviled and Feared.
Words that describe the Draconic ancestor of Sudara's clan are many and conflicted. Worshiped in a small part of a faraway land, Kami represents the final and most honored stage of an important life-cycle that carries the faith and worship of Sudara's people.
Once a powerful mortal hero, Kami feared for the safety of his clan when he would eventually pass on to the next world. Striking a bargain with the celestial heavens, Kami no Sosen was allowed to circumvent The Pattern of the Stars and be reborn into the mortal world after his death. Unable to care for his people as an infant, Kami was allowed to spend the first years of his rebirth in his celestial form, serving as the Eidolon of a worthy hero chosen by his clan.
Kami would travel with and guide that hero, teaching him to attain incredible power. In trade, when the hero was strong enough, he would surrender his body to Kami so that the Celestial could ensure his eternal vigil over his clan.
Three times and a span of 240 years has this tradition continued. Enter Sudara, the first Summoner who does not care to surrender his body to the Dragon Spirit. The travels with Kami out of an obligation to his clan, but has made it very clear he has no intention of sharing his body with the legendary hero as long as he can resist him.
