Lillian had moved to I10 last round.. I would have moved her but you have the map locked..
Lillian casts Glitterdust(DC 18 Will, No SR) on the 4x4 area of O/P 10 to O/P 14 and 11/12 from N to Q.. Hope that makes sense.. If you would unlock the map i could draw lines where i want the spell to go

![]() |

My apologies, it should be a full round action, so the Xill should have picked up the potion in round 3. It only took a move action that round anyway. Maybe that might have given you some clue, but you had no idea what the potion was, and since all of you failed to affect it in a way that would have stopped it, I don't think it would have changed that much.
However, I'll treat the Xill as having done a rushed job as opposed to 'trickling it down' her throat, and have halved the healing from the potion to account for it not being done in the usual time. I will otherwise keep the situation as it is becasue ret-cons are messy.
But sorry about the mistake.
Ranus: You saw her hand gestures and heard her incantation clearly enough, and recognise the spell as 'invisibility sphere'.
Lillian: Your spell will go off after Isaac's, Aestrids and Ranus' turns. I have highlighted the area I think you have indicated. Please let me know if it should be moved.

Aestrid finishes casting her spell and a Leopard appears between Exiel and the larger room (K10). She moves forward (H9), the words of another spell on her lips once more. Her weapon continues attacking the invisible creature as best as it can.
Move to H10+draw whip, Cast True Strike, Leopard readies a partial charge/pounce attack once an enemy is visible, or it uses scent to find and attack an enemy, depending on GM whim?
Spiritual Whip vs. Xill 4/10 - atk,dmg,miss: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d100 ⇒ 38
Leopard charging bite vs. anything within range - atk,dmg,grab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
(Potentially just this roll if it uses scent)
Miss chance if needed: 1d100 ⇒ 31
Leopard charging claw vs. anything within range atk,dmg: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Leopard charging claw vs. anything within range atk,dmg: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 101d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

As soon as Lillian's spell goes off, Exiel will move to the nearest visible target and make a stab.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Ranus readies an action to cast his spell.
Aestrid's spirit-whip lashes out and appears to hit nothing but air. She moves and casts true strike. Her summoned leopard appears, looking for a target to pounce on.
Lillian finishes her spell. Golden glittery particles appear and fall over the indicated area, sticking to the red creature and a right leg on the table...but somehow, the woman who had cast the spell is not where she had been just seconds ago! I wonder what item or class feature she could have used?
Xill's will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
The Xill shakes its head as it blinks off the effects of the dust.
woman-on-table's will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
The woman on the tables croaks piteously as she goes blind. You realise however that whatever caused the excessive bloodiness in and around her mouth also prevents her from speaking.
Exiel and the leopard move in on the Xill.
Exiel hits.
The leopard charges the Xill, and misses with its claws, but manages to latch on with a bite.
Ranus, do you still want to cast even though only 1 target has appeared?

The Xill moves up to Exiel and takes a full attack.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He hits with a claw and a sword, dealing 1d6 + 3 + 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (2) + 3 = 14.
Also, a black candle on the far table lights up, bathing the room in a eerie purple glow.

![]() |

If it moved, shouldn't it be 5' further west? That matters for my coming action.

Aestrid's animal and spiritual whip press the attack as she moves forward to join the fray.
Spiritual Whip vs. Xill 5/10 - atk,dmg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 191d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
************************************************************
If the Xill is 5' closer so it's inside the 15' range of her whip after a 20' move to the east
Aestrid approaches and, guided by Calistria's blessing, lashes out with her whip, stretching for the strange creature's feet.
Whip trip attack with True Strike: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (10) + 29 = 39
If the Xill is not 5' closer, Aestrid instead moves 20', draws her Morningstar as part of movement and throws it as an improvised ranged weapon using True Strike, moving the whip to her Buckler hand
Improvised Thrown Morningstar (+3 base +20 True strike -4 improvised -4 into melee -2 Range Increment): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 311d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Leopard gets +4 to hit if Xill is prone if she trips it
Leopard bite vs. Xill 2/5 - atk,dmg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Leopard claw vs. Xill 2/5 - atk,dmg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 221d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Yes it is 5ft closer, sorry I forgot to move it. Have corrected its location.
Waiting on Isaac, Ranus, Exiel and Lillian.

![]() |

Exiel will take a 5 ft step back to M11 and stab at the Xill.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

![]() |

It was not a command word. But a lit, non-black candle on the same table disappeared 2 seconds before the eerie black candle was lit.

![]() |

She hadn't been within the glitterdust?.. clearly, this woman was also an expert in conjuration- of course, for a Blackfire Adept, that was hardly surprising. Knowing they needed to fish her out before she could summon reinforcements, Ranus casts his own Glitterdust on the northeastern edge of the table.
That should get every square adjacent or inside the table except for the southwestern edge, which Lillian already dusted. Hopefully she or Isaac can finish off the wizard..

![]() |

If the woman becomes visible Lillian will fire a Magic Missile at her.. If not than at the Xill..
MM: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) + 3 = 9
SR if needed: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

![]() |

Hmm...since it's been well over 12 hours since Isaac posted, I will put him in delay again.
Also, I think Ranus has bingo-ed the mystery of the Blackfire Adept's movmements. And yes, she also did a fake-out by shifting 10ft in the opposite direction after her 5ft step. Lillian just barely missed her with the glitterdust earlier. And she has since moved. And possibly shifted again.
Ranus' glitterdust spell fires off, and the Xill is covered by dust, as is the now-completely visible woman.
Aestrid trips the Xill, and the creature is promptly savaged to death by a combination of magical whip, bites, claws and hooked lance.
Unlike summoned creatures, the Xill does not disappear after being slain. Instead the corpse remains there, lifeless.
Lillian, you can re-declare your action if you wish, since both possible targets you identified are now unavailable.

![]() |

Oops, sorry, I meant the woman on the table is now fully visible (before she had only had her leg dusted - because she was in the middle of the table and only 1/4 of the table was dusted).
The blackfire adept is still invisible. To be clear, the one on the table is now 'woman' and the blackfire adept is now "blackfire adept" or "BA" for short.

![]() |

Well can you put the 2 glitterdust's on the map so i can see where to try another one then? I hope theres not many other encounters in this.. I've used 1/2 my spells on this thing.. It doesn't help that our 2 main dps are indisposed and never posts..

![]() |

I can, but the glitterdust does not reveal people who come into the AoE after it is cast. It only shows and sticks on people who are within the AoE when the spell is cast. Moreover, the Blackfire Adept knows well enough to keep moving, so I'm not sure how much that will help you.
The yellow square is where Lillian's earlier glitterdust was cast. The light orange square is where Ranus' glitterdust was cast.

![]() |

Ranus, is the AoE now correct?
For ease of reference, please use the grid reference provided for AoE spells. Also, she was not in those squares either. You guessed her school ability, so you might have guessed why she isn't in those squares. ;)
Lillian, need you to declare your new action please.

![]() |

I mean she can only move on her turn..
"Im not wasting anymore of my abilities on this.. Just get the girl from the table and lets move on.."

![]() |

You hear an incantation sound out from somewhere within the room. You can attempt a spellcraft check to identify it when you take your action. But as far as you can tell, nothing seems to have happened.
You also hear an unearthly howl sound out from somewhere else in the complex. Since the silence spell is still in effect, you surmise that it is coming from somewhere else on this level.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

"Agreed. Her and the rest of the prisoners." Aestrid moves over to Scrillion, standing directly over the paralyzed archer, and leans down assessing him, softly whispering "I'll get you out of this."
Meanwhile, her summoned leopard continues to search for an opponent to attack using its sense of scent...
Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

![]() |

Your leopard can indeed, but we are still in initiative. If you had some way to speak to your leopard, it could in fact tell you something useful.
What are you trying to achieve with your heal check?

![]() |

Round 7 commences!
You hear the inhuman howling continue to echo from somewhere, though you see nothing.
Declare actions!
Aestrid, I take it your action is to have your leopard search for scents, whilst you attempt a heal check on Scrillion for some purpose? Can you clarify what you are doing with your heal check?

![]() |

It was a fluff action. I the player knows he's paralyzed by some supernatural force, I the character doesn't know if he's potentially poisoned or something that might be curable. Aestrid was just figuring that out. And Yes, the leopard automatically attacks my enemies to the best of its ability - in my mind that includes using Scent to locate and pinpoint an invisible target.

![]() |

Exiel will cast CLW on himself and lay on hands as a swift action, and move to R14 to take a look-see.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
LOH: 1d6 ⇒ 6

![]() |

Kinda irritated the way this has all gone down.. A good plan has went to crap and now our 2 best dps are gone and a wizard is running from us..
Lillian stands there waiting for something to happen, silently considering retreating..

![]() |

Ranus pulls a scroll from his belt and conjures a thick film of web down the corridor.
Lillian looks around frustrated at how their plan has gone. You guys are probably faring better than you think you are.
Aestrid determines that Scrillion has been paralysed by the bite of the Xill, but will recover in a couple of hours. Her leopard sniffs the air, then looks around confused. It does not seem to identify any hostile scents within range of its ability.
Exiel heals himself and walks towards the passageway that is now covered with webs. He sees nothing but more people in cells. This turn.
Give me a moment to prepare the next turn.

![]() |

Round 8 commences!
All seems quiet for a moment, and Exiel begins to wonder why he is staring at a thick clump of web. Suddenly he discovers why as the layers of thick web are burned away by a large gout of flame. As the fires die down, and bits of burnt web drop from the ceiling, Exiel sees a brown, shaggy-furred beast standing on a pair of slate-grey hooves. Its head resembles that of a maniacal horned ape.
It sees Exiel and speaks in a strange language. You have no idea what it is saying, but you are guessing it isn't friendly.
Knowledge plains to know what the heck it is.
Also, note that some of your buffs are running out, especially the silence spell.
Declare actions for the round!

![]() |

Ranus recognises the creature as a Ceustodaemon, a brutish evil outsider with a fiery breath and various resistances and a few status-immunities, which you understand to be the norm for daemons.
On the bright side, it appears to have expended its breath weapon burning off your webs, so it may not have the benefit of it for a few rounds.
1d4 ⇒ 4

![]() |

Isaac rushes over to Exiel, double-moving to L14. "Damn demons. Can't seem to be shed of them these days...", he mutters. On my next turn, Isaac will move again until he can see the demon, then attack:
Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Damage 1: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Attack 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Damage 2: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

![]() |

Exiel snarls as the fell creature comes into view. He raises his hooked lance and levels it at the creature, declares a smite evil on the beast and moves in (R20) to take a stab!
attack: 1d20 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 6 = 34
damage: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 = 13

![]() |

Woot! Perfect time for a crit! Hope this works!
Confirmation roll:
attack: 1d20 + 8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 6 + 2 = 25
damage: 3d8 + 18 + 12 ⇒ (6, 7, 8) + 18 + 12 = 51

![]() |

Hmm...interesting. And Isaac is back.
Isaac moves towards Exiel, and gets far enough to barely see the creature. Next turn you can 5ft step and take a full attack, assuming it survives the round.
Actions for Ranus, Lillian and Aestrid?
Exiel, your attack will happen after Ranus and Aestrid act.

![]() |

Spiritual Whip at round 7, unable to act until I direct it with a move action, Cat double moves to Q21 (1 more round after this). Aestrid moves to 011 and gives Isaac Bit of Luck from the Luck domain (he rolls all d20s twice for the next round and takes the best result every time). If that's this round, he gets to re-roll both those attacks.
Aestrid's Cat moves in to attack now that it has a target and she sidles up next to Isaac with her whip hovering over her after it spent the last few seconds removing the last vestige of life from the Xill.
She reaches her hand out, brushing the gunslinger's thigh in an overtly familiar way. "Goddess' blessing." she winks.

![]() |

Ranus goes next, moving to get into range for a stumble gap spell (you're out of range to affect it). I've had you take a single move, so you can attempt another spell if you want, or move even closer. You are in range to move and cast a stumble gap spell next turn if you want to do so, though it may not be necessary.
Aestrid move to Isaac to give him a blessing, whilst her leopard moves closer to the daemon (can't get close enough to attack this turn, but I have moved it so it can take a 5ft step and full attack next turn without taking an AoO).
Exiel charges in and lashes out with his lance, which has been charged with divine energy! It plunges deep into the daemon's flesh, ripping through its defences and nearly toppling it in a single blow. It is still standing however, and it glares hatefully at Exiel, whom it is NOT happy with.
Lillian left to go.
