A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.
Few are as adept at fighting demons as the Riftwardens, an organization of spellcasters dedicated to protecting the boundaries between the planes. Many are already committed to the Fifth Crusade in Mendev and are unable to assist the Pathfinders directly in the society’s upcoming expedition into the Worldwound, but if the Pathfinders assist the Riftwardens elsewhere, perhaps a small number of the mages might be free to return the favor. Unfortunately, this means entering the godless nation Rahadoum, where several Riftwardens have recently disappeared.
Content in "Port Godless" also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Cheliax, Osirion, and Qadira factions.

To sign up, please make a post with your PFS profile for the character you will be using, citing your race, classes, level and PFS number.
You will also need to update your PFS profile OR send me a link to a soft copy of your character sheet (post the link here or send it to me via PM).

This module will be run as part of the Pathfinder PBP Game Day 2: A Hymn of Wind and Fire event. Boons will be available, as is the norm for conventions.
Because this is part of an official event, certain rules will apply, most notably: The game play thread will open on April 5th, 2014, and we must finish by July 5th 2014. This should be plenty of time, but I will require that each player post at least once every 24 hours most of the time. If life gets in the way, let me know, and I can be flexible, but don't just go missing without informing me. This falls squarely under the 'don't be a jerk' rule.
I reserve the right to skip your turn in combat if you go missing for too long (you will enter delay), or determine your action within reason if it is critical to the party's survival or the rest of the party agrees you should (again this will only happen if you disappear for an extended period of time). Declaring actions (or several alternative actions to be taken under different circumstances) is perfectly acceptable.

Hi, I'm the aforementioned buddy. :)
Don't have a character profile on here as I've never actually done a game on Paizo.. I'll get on set up next week, most likely- the character is a 4.1 and will be boosted to 5.1 after I GM two games this Saturday, so things will be changing soon.
Character Name: Ranus Kerschen
Race; Half-Elf
Class: Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist..probably! Retraining is likely)
Level: 5
PFS#: 19873-7

Hey Aram Zey and Exiel!
"Guilford" at your service. Poor Gil just got to 4th level, so he can't apply. But my ranger might fit the bill. He's currently a 7, but could get to 8th if I GM a game next week.
He's in bit of a tight spot, schedule-wise, so let me know what you think:
I want to have him free to play at a CON. This event was originally scheduled for April 19th. It has been re-scheduled for May 10th.
I have applied with this character to play in The Waking Rune, but that game needs to start late, and likely can't finish in time.
So, do we think this is one we can get through in 5 weeks? I've played and GM'ed many scenarios in that time, but usually at lower levels. I have way less experience with 5-9's, and absolutely none with 7-11's :(

Love to have you on board, Gil/Osric.
Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that we'll finish by May 10th, but I can certainly try my best to accomplish that (I've read that the average scenario-by-pbp takes about a month).
However, that also depends on how regularly players make posts.
The good news however is that I've stated:
I reserve the right to skip your turn in combat if you go missing for too long (you will enter delay), or determine your action within reason if it is critical to the party's survival or the rest of the party agrees you should (again this will only happen if you disappear for an extended period of time). Declaring actions (or several alternative actions to be taken under different circumstances) is perfectly acceptable.
So I will have some control over the pace, but ultimately, it will depend on the players.
I'll do my best to run it in that time slot, and leave it to you to decide if you want to take the risk. Not sure there's more I can do at this stage, unfortunately. =(

That's perfectly fair. I understand there's no way to guarantee a game will finish by a given date, but I appreciate the consideration.
Also, I am going to be GM'ing this very scenario for the game day as well. I have no issues keeping mum and allowing others the chance solve riddles, puzzles, etc. Osric isn't really a knowledge monkey, although he's got quite a few skill points.
I'll consider my options, and let you know later today. Thanks!

Most low tier games run something like 300 posts, give or take, depending on difficulty, role playing, group composition and so on.
That's an average of 10/day for the whole group which is faster than1/day per person for a month with no pauses. In my experience it takes more like 2-3 months than 1, though the games I run tend to pause for the weekend. My guess is that higher tier games will tend to be slower rather than faster-running.

Well, I've seen a great deal of variation, but you're right Aestrid - 1/day posting with weekedn breaks for me seem to run in the 6-8 week range.
I was thinking of two recent games I was in, a 5-9 (5-6 subtier) and a 3-7 (6-7 subtier). Both from season 4, so combats not complete pushovers, though our groups had strong characters.
1st game: 220 total posts took 1 month and 2 days. 2nd game: 315 posts took 1 month and 3 days. So yeah, it's more like an average of 2/day posting on weekdays.
Anyway, I'm probably just going to pull Osric out of the game day and hope I have a chance or two to play him locally before the con.
Good luck with the game - it looks like a fun one!

Can I ask a quick question about the Avatar Images? This was literally the second time I've posted on Paizo, so I am not familiar with the setup (rest assured, I've played in PbPs for years, just not on this site, so I know the basic drills). It gives me the option to post as my main name and as all of my different PFS characters - is that how everyone does it, generally? Or do people create new aliases for each character? I ask because I notice that, when I posted as Scrillion, it did not give me the option to have an avatar image (and it didn't display my basic messageboard image). And I see that I would be able to designate an avatar image if I created an new messageboard alias. Or is there a setting I am just not finding that lets me designate an image for each of my PFS characters? I am not finding something like that in My Account. But I am a little slow, so that doesn't mean it isn't there.
Unrelatedly, if Orsic's out, does that mean Scrillion is in?

You need to go to "My Account" and then "My Pathfinder Society" From there you should see your list of characters, and be able to click edit and select an avatar. Most folks I know have an alias for each character, because they save all the details (char sheet, scenarios played, gear, etc.) in the profile of that alias.

Here is a link to Scrillion's character sheet and chronicles. (Just scroll down; he's the third character). I haven't played him since inventory sheets have become a thing, so that's not together yet. All his gear is on the character sheet, though. Let me know if you need anything else on this. Looking forward to getting started.

No need for that. Feel free to obliterate anything in your path. This scenario is not easy.
Just don't try to take on the entire city guard. That would still be suicide. ;)
Oh, don't worry, that's not Isaac's style. He's an investigator, not a rabble rouser. He prefers if he doesn't even have to draw his weapon.

Exiel will be very happy for Isaac to draw his weapon when needed. =)
