Myna |

Hey. I recently had eye surgery and as such will not be able to post for awhile. Sorry about that, but I will try to get back asap....but it might be a few weeks

Terquem |
For what it's worth, and I know I've said before how I do not like talking about real life problems of mine in the threads, I am up, and improving (on the sixth round of anti-biotics this summer). With the doctor treating me now saying, "hmmm, maybe it isn't an infection, hey I know let's schedule a cat scan" so, even though I am up, I am not at my best but I am trying to update games.

Kayne Aetherax |

No problem, Terquem. Just glad to see that you're still here and feeling okay. Your health is the most important thing!
As for experience, I think Kayne is leveling up here. I think the changes wait until we rest, though? Either way, I'll figure out what's going on with him.

Terquem |
You do not need to rest to level up here (from 1 to 2) in fact I think that from 2 to 3 will be automatic as well. from 3 and up, I think I'll impose at least a night's rest and some study/training (maybe even spending some treasure).
Also
I was reading the early posts in the game thread and found that Reverend Drogglespok mentioned one of the Dwarven gods by name, so I've made a change in the campaign notes to reflect his comment
Abburdun Silver Heart (Moradin) – The God of Fatherhood (Work, Devotion, Protection, Animal Husbandry)

Generic Dungeon Master |

I'm behind in all my map updates (which are done on another computer). I'm sorry. I don't want to use this forum as a place to talk about myself, so just know that I am okay, little trouble seeing, and with balance, but I am okay, and when I can get to the right computer I will update all my game maps.
Again, so sorry.
I will be placing a link at the top of each thread in this game to a Journal where things about the setting can be learned, if you are interested.

Generic Dungeon Master |

Okay - so here it is. I will try to update all my games this weekend, really try, and keep at it through the weekend and into next week. Okay?
I had a CT scan on Monday, the results weren't the best. I am scheduled for a surgery on Oct. 27 to remove something from my head that cannot be treated with drugs, but it is not in my brain, and is not supposed to be any kind of cancer, just something that needs to be taken out. There is, as always, a tiny, tiny chance of complications including vision problems - BUT I intend to keep doing this until I am forced to stop.

Generic Dungeon Master |

I am feeling well enough to start getting back to updating games. It will be slow at first, maybe two or three games today, and then the rest will follow through the weekend.
I appreciate everyone’s patience.
I’ll start each game post with a review, to try and bring everyone back to where we were when we left off, and a prompt to getting us moving again.
I imagine it will take some time for everyone to realize the games are going to get moving again.
Again, thank you.
We still need a map of the room, as there is a monster encounter about to happen - I'll make it a priority

Generic Dungeon Master |

Myna has respectfully withdrawn from the game and I wish him luck in everything he is dealing with.
Now, this leaves us with three Player Characters, and one NPC (the party Cleric).
I think Flint is considering changing his class, (with a small party like this two fighters seems unnecessary).
I really thing the three characters in this game are very interesting, you are all role playing the heck out of this setting, thank you.
I think I might open recruitment to two new characters if no one here objects to that.

Flint of Iron |

Sounds good to me. Rogue is the obvious class change for a halfling, but I designed Flint to NOT be that kind of halfling so I'd like to avoid that spot. Bard (valor) is what I'm leaning on now, though I will miss my massive con score.

Kayne Aetherax |

Thanks for the compliment, GM! I'm enjoying this game a lot too, and I'd be happy bringing in some new folks to experience it as well. Maybe another smart person so Kayne has someone to talk to...
As for Flint, Valor Bard makes a lot of sense. And you'll pick up some Charisma, I'd imagine, so you'll actually be as suave and charming as Flint wants to be!

Flint of Iron |

I'm trying to remember what all sellably treasure we found. I remember the (jeweled?) dagger from the centipede box. Was there anything else?
Someone dig through the bags on Kayne's ass ;)
(we're going to have to track a group-loot page, I think!)

Kiril Hoxha |

Judging by the recruitment threat, I'm guessing we're waiting for our new recruits to introduce themselves at the kobold hollow.

Brunar Battlemender |

Heeeelloooo All, Dwarven Cleric/Healer PC reporting in for duty and/or adventure. Depends on who you ask? Me personally? It's adventure! If you ask Brunar, my character, it's duty. Brunar was the name I gave my Dwarven Guardian character in Lord of the Rings Online. Although not a LOTRO guardian, Brunar will still be there for you lot and even get into the fray for y'all can't have all the fun!
Thank you for the invite to the game and it is a pleasure to be here. It's nice to see WotC/Hasbro going back to DND roots and I like what I see thus far!
As for me personally, I work in the computer network industry, been playing DnD, and other RPGs, off and on since 1980. Currently, I play mostly Pathfinder here on the boards and unfortunately no table games due to the lack of interest in close proximity to my house. A few times a week, I play Star Wars The Old Republic Online since I am in a raiding party. In fact, tonight is a raiding night.
Thanks again for having me! Let's Role and Roll On!

Flint of Iron |

Hey there, welcome! Good to have another dour dwarf in the group. Keep your weapons clean, stay in formation, and don't muss my hair. Pay is every other week. ;)
GM: Want me to convert over Flint mechanically now, and we'll justify it IC soon?

Brunar Battlemender |

Aye! I am cleanin' me weapons now in thee Kobold pub! Aye, I ain't no huMUN, so I stay in formation! And Ick, I no muss with anywuns hair nor berd but me own, others are too durty. :-)

Grinley |

Hi all. I look forward to roleplaying with all of you. I have been playing D&D since 1982. I am playing in a few different live 5e D&D campaigns and have really been enjoying the system. This is my only PBP game, as I only play 1 at a time. I live in Calgary, Canada, and now that winter is settling in, I tend to go into hibernation mode -- so I like to pick up things I can do without leaving the house :)
I am bringing in a dwarven druid that I hope to play as little "touched" and has an innate connection to the earth. I will try to find that right balance between quirky and game-interrupting-insanity :)
Grinley will also be a little timid and although he doesn't really make a lot of friends -- those that he does, he fiercely tries to protect. I will be taking him down the moon druid path, and will be treating his wildshaping as almost a form of lycanthropy in which he usually only changes when under stress -- sort of like the Hulk :)

Flint of Iron |

Welcome both!
Just as some heads up (though I'm sure this will be clear once we RP for a bit), Flint is a halfling who was effectively raised by dwarvern sailors. This original build is as a fighter, the toughest halfling there is. I'm losing the toughness by switching to bard, but not the attitude.
-----------------
Okay! Bard transformation...
Swapping by original rolls for CON and CHA, so my new Con is 12 and my new cha is 18. Saves have changed appropriately, including from bard features...
Total Hp dropping down to 9 (ouch, goodbye most HP in the group).
Gaining proficiency in bluff, drums, lyre, and pan flute.
Losing martial profiencies with some exceptions. Losing armor/shield profs down to light.
Losing all fighter special abilities. Gaining level 1 bard abilities.
Bardic casting stat is now +6 for attacks, saves at 14.
Gaining some spells (see character sheet), ritual spell casting.
-----------
GM: Gear wise, how do you want to handle to class change? There are many things I can no longer use, and some things that I'll need and don't have.

Generic Dungeon Master |

The Kobolds will be happy to trade you out for any gear you don't need, while Marvin will see to it that you find the things you do need, now that you have found a proper purpose in life. Also, I'll get you that shopping list so that should any of you end up going back to Cipenny (or find some supplies in the Palace) you can help out the Hollow.

Generic Dungeon Master |

I'm not sure how Grinley wants to enter the game as soon as I know I will either place him in the Hollow as well, or wait until later to introduce him. meanwhile I am working on an in game post that gets the group through the night, and ready to set out in the morning for the Palace. You can, naturally, engage in as much between character planning as you want to post.

Brunar Battlemender |

LOL, who are the two Dwarven women with Brunar now?

Generic Dungeon Master |

Brunar would have just met (this very day) these two dwarven women
Kristyd Strakein, who was formally a retainer of a pompous dwarven nobleman named Morgrym Rumnaheim
and
Gwendolyn Wulfenhelm, who was a tower maintenance soldier, captured by ogres and sold to goblins as a slave, she was rescued from the palace by the first group of heroes, and knows something about the rest of her platoon, who are all soldiers of the kingdom, and Flint is looking to find them all and free them.
These two dwarven women would have come down from the mountain this morning when Morgrym's retainers broke camp and left the mountain when he decided he was no longer interested in this mission, or was called home on some pressing matter, or something like that.

Generic Dungeon Master |

A new dwarven Goddess has been added to the campaign info tab under the Dwarven Pantheon
Yerina Silver Hand, the twin sister of Mevboll – Yerina is the Goddess of Artistic Beauty (healing, mercy, romantic love, fertility, dancing, courtship, and the smaller of the worlds three moons (which takes her name)
