LOL, get well. I am a little sore from this weekend's purge since I was carrying most of the recycling weight which included a working freezer, a broken couch, and other stuff between my daughter, wife, and I but probably nothing like you.
Been a while since I've been out there to Idaho. My wife is from there and trying to convince her to move back, and she will not ... LOL. I think it has to be related to her growing up there more than anything else.

Thanks Flint and Brunar
Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I honestly don't see a definitive declaration from anyone of where you want to go next.
I really don't want this game to simply be a scenario where the NPC drags the player characters from one encounter to the next, but if that is what you all want to do, I can adapt my style to doing that. I understand PbP is tedious (particularly when players are given choices that are not about which ability they want to use in an encounter), so just let me know how you want to proceed.

Flint of Iron |

Sorry about that, I think we're unsure how to agree as a group where to go, so are just kind of going with the flow until something stands out to us.
How about Kiril acts as our official location decider until one of us has reason to speak up and suggest an actual place to visit, once we have more information about this dungeon to make such decisions?

Brunar Battlemender |

I second Kiril to be our guide because Brunar is too new to be that kind of decision maker. Maybe after the next idle time?

Kiril Hoxha |

Fine by me, Kiril's just impatient :D If someone suggests something (even an npc), he'll go with that. Otherwise he'll pick somethin.

The progress map has been updated (and the numbering system altered a bit, I was tinkering with the sequence from the original module to try and make it flow better from room to room),
Can everyone see the progress map?
Also, I am still not clear where Kiril is headed, when he passed the passageway on the right, he declared he was going left.
But left goes straight into a wall.
So, please help me out a bit here

Generic Dungeon Master |

I took the liberty of shuffling the group through some empty rooms, and getting that out of the way
You can look at the encounter map now which I have expanded (it is harder to update the progress map as it is derived from an AutoCad file)
I've marked the encounter map with empty rooms, secret doors, and the unknown areas you can explore next

My oldest son and his wife brought another wonderful little girl into the world on Friday, making us grandparents for the second time now. We are taking mom home from the hospital today. Mom and baby are doing great. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.
I should be back to posting game updates tomorrow,

Brunar Battlemender |

CONGRATS AGAIN GRANDPA!
And Happy Father's day as well.

Kayne Aetherax |

Hey all, posting in all my games to say that as of this evening I'm going camping with family and then paintballing for several days, so I won't be able to post. I'll be back the evening of Sunday the 10th, and hopefully I'll be back to regular posting and catching up then or Monday morning. Please bot me as needed while I'm away!
(For Kayne, that mainly means keeping up the witch bolt each turn for this fight, and then snarking once it's over.)

Grinley |

Hi all. I am going to drop out of the campaign. Its just moving far too slowly to keep me interested.
Thank you Generic DM for running the campaign and I wish my fellow players the best of luck in this adventure.

Sorry all, rearranged the house this past 4th of July and still having problems getting all of my computers to connect. Cisco Routers do not like to talk to Asus routers very well in a Root/Non-Root wireless bridge configuration. I have enough access to post today and tonight until I can implement my new configuration.

Generic Dungeon Master |

Sorry to see you go Grinley - Good luck
About the slowness, yes I have been sort of remiss lately, but many things took over my real life this past week and a half, including a new grand child being born - But I am not leaving, so please be patient with me. I hope to post in game update tonight.

Brunar Battlemender |

I am good with the speed, I have kind of been flaking lately because of everything going on in my real life too. But things are going to quiet down a little soon. I lost 5 lbs this weekend moving the office from upstairs to down stairs. With two girls in the house, I lifted the most weight. Lucky for my wife, we have a heavy appliance hand truck that I used to move heavy things from the down stairs to the now converted dining room into a office. While they painted the old office to become a gaming/rec room, I was working on getting the entire network up. It will be mostly wireless with a non-root/root bridge between the internet and wired devices.
My two designs in mind:
Cable > Juniper SRX FW > 1811W Root > 1811W Non-Root > Sophos (Astaro) UTM > Internal Network
or
Cable > Asuswrt-Merlin RT-AC88U > 1811W Non-Root > Sophos (Astaro) UTM > Internal Network
The bottom did not work because I think I was changing too much and confusing the router. By rebooting it, it refreshed its configuration. In addition, it was using VLAN 2 tagging which I do not think the Asus supports.
This is when I came up with the top design and it works from end to end in a lab without Inet.

Brunar Battlemender |

LOL, sorry ... :-)
Everything is fixed but need to look into a small problem that I will not bore you with the tech-speak ... :-)

Generic Dungeon Master |

Okay, so here I am with my first full day off trying to explain my absence. Basically, the company I worked for was dissolved, and we merged into a larger company owned by the mega corporation Fluor. All of June was a nightmare, and July we began revising our procedures and finally got new org charts. I am still, sort of, doing the same job, but my immediate manager, well he got a new boss and he really doesn’t like his new boss and I think he is taking out his frustrations on us. We’ve been having stupid long meetings every day. Three employees were fired for time card fraud (which is sort of the catch all excuse for firing people who work on government projects). I know I shouldn’t post from work, but I often do during the week, but with all the changes and scrutiny I was being very cautious. Things are still pretty chaotic at work, but I think things will settle down by the end of July.
On top of that we had a new granddaughter born at the end of June, baby was fine, but mom had a small set back from the c-section she had, and my wife and I were spending a lot of time helping our son and his little family.
I know that’s a lot of silly personal real life stuff to put on the forum but I wanted everyone to know where I’ve been. I have this whole day to try to get all my games caught up and I know some of you have been waiting a very long time. I hope you can find interest in the games again and come back to play when you can.
Thanks, everyone

Kayne Aetherax |

No problem on real life hitting you, DM. I understand entirely, so take your time and do what you need to in order to stay sane, keep things in order, and maintain the important things before worrying about us.

Brunar Battlemender |

No problem, start up when you are ready.

Brunar Battlemender |

I am currently out of state and visiting family because my Grandmother just passed at 96. I may be extending my time here but maybe returning home today depending on work. I will have a severe reduction in posting until I return home.

Brunar Battlemender |

Thank you for your sympathy.
I am back, catching up with all of my games now.
Much easier to post with a computer than an iPhone while with family.

Brunar Battlemender |

Oh so close, but so close away :-)
Next significant encounter.

Generic Dungeon Master |

Here is an update for every one of my wonderful patient players
I have not been able to do updates during the week from the computer I normally use due to the recent changes in my employment (working under a new contractor). I won’t go into details, because the truth is I allowed myself to get spoiled by the previous contractor’s more or less indifference to how much time we spent messing around on the internet (as long as we got our work done, they didn’t seem to care much). The new boss is watching us, and has installed something called iPrism, to track our online activity.
What this means, first I am not shutting down any games. I love the games here, and I have great players. What it does mean is that I will try to do more updates on week nights and on the weekends, but it also means that my already slow games will probably get slower.
If any of you find this is something you just don’t have time for and want to drop out I will not hold that against you. I understand that players want to spend their time doing something that they feel is worth their effort, so I will do my best to give you the best game I can, but understand it might be slower than it has been in the past.
The good news is I only work 4 days a week and have Friday off, and with summer winding down my Fridays will be a little slower in general and I hope to make it my primary catch up day on games.
Thank you

Brunar Battlemender |

I am good with the speed, I have other games I am in that will keep me distracted from a even slower pace.

Flint of Iron |

Yar, I'm already basically retiring from one of the other campaigns I'm in because of my limited time. Go at your own pace, GDM, you're not moving any slower than I am.

Terquem |
Got my first set of stitches out today and the lab report says the cancer was fully excised so I am going to have a great recovery. I hope to be updating games tomorrow. I've been a little weak, and work is still a bit rough, but I have no intention of quitting my games, so
Thank you for being patient with this old man

Kiril Hoxha |

Oh awesome! I was just about to post wondering if you died, that'd suck. I'm excited to get started again, but be sure to rest up :]

Brunar Battlemender |

Good to hear you are doing very good Ol' Man! ... :-)
Here's to a speedy and painless recovery!
And I am in agreement, take time to heal before you pay any attention to us whippersnappers ... lol.
