Hey all, please ensure your information in your classes line is up to date. Feel free to begin posting. I'll give everyone a day to check in and then if I feel the need I will start a recruitment thread to fill any remaining spaces.
As usual looking for a fun and hopefully swift game, ideally I would like to complete it within a month so please try to post once a day.
I'll quote the following, slightly edited, section of Painlord's excellent PBP guide, since I read it recently and found it very helpful despite being an experienced PBPer...
Always Be Pushing. (ABP!) A, Always. B, Be. P, Pushing. Always be pushing. This is the most important thing you can do as a PbP player. It's about pushing your character's involvement in the story forward. Whenever you can, push the action, push the direction, push the party along. PbP is already a slow format, so try to make it better by pushing while giving others a chance to respond, of course.Good players push...rarely leaving a post that doesn't move things along or offer a hook. That momentum will make it easier for the GM and other players to act and react as necessary. It's easier for a GM to slow things down if necessary, rather than create something from nothing. Do this because it can make your GM's job easier.
Embrace hooks: leave them everywhere. In PbP terms, a hook is a call to action, a point of interest, a *something* that someone else can react. It's hard to react in a vacuum, much easier to react to what others are doing and what else is happening. So try to have a hook in every post!
Compare the following two posts and pretend you're next to post:
Post #1: Hektir enters the room and looks around. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Perception
Post #2: Hektir enters the room, spits, and looks around. "Smells like goblin farts in here," Hektir says, sniffing the air. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Perception
Which post would you rather respond to? The second sets up a few more opportunities, if ever so slight. You might react to the spit on the ground, noticing it only when you make (or fail) your perception check. Or you might ask how Hektir knows what goblin farts smell like. Or comment on Hektir sniffing. When you reply, you should try to leave a hook (or 2) of your own.
Always look for other people's hooks when you're setting up your own. Try to respond to them in a way that can both encourage their character to elaborate while expounding on yours. An excellent Play-by-Post isn't simply the combats, with each characters' stories bordering it like a frame- it is a rich tapestry of a thousand threads, woven together to create the beautiful whole.
Embrace the Important Soft Push/Hook: There are times when you are just waiting for the GM or the other players to post, but 24 hours have passed. That's the time for the Soft Push/Hook- a post that doesn't do anything but bump your interest in the thread and what's happening. They are important to show that you're still alive, engaged and helping others stay engaged by giving them something to react.[/spoiler]

Just checking in. This is Lia from Slave Pits of Absalom. Unfortunately, she got accepted in another scenario and I didn't realize that I couldn't run her through two at the same time, so Ket is my replacement character.

Here's Rogar. Being the slacker he is our resident Taldan has no other occupation at the moment and he's ready to go!
:P

Already posted in gameplay, but checking in nonetheless. For everyone coming in from Slave Pits--don't be surprised if Tromos undergoes a stark change in personality, and might try out something a bit different from last time.

Thovar is good to go and happy to be visiting Qadira!
Will we have the opportunity to make some purchases before heading out?
EDIT: Never mind, I see you mentioned that in the gameplay thread.

They have just announced the next PBP Gameday for April 5th, which means if we want the next game to count and all have a chance of getting boons I want to be done by then. The last couple of games were both very close to a month so its doable, but I am going to need to be strict with posting requirements. The expectation is still a minimum of once a day and I'll move on after approximately 24 hours if you are holding up a combat skipping your turn. If I have previously skipped you and you are up again I will skip again - with no waiting period.

No problems from me! Feel free to bot me if for any reason I'm unable to post in time(I guess you have a good idea of how Rogar operates by now... ;P)!

I'll post as often as I can. Now that RPG Superstar is winding down, that should be at least once a day.

![]() |

I'm on board. I'll try to notify the table ahead of time if I think I'll be out for a day or more.
Best of luck, Angruf--this current week must be the toughest of the whole competition.

Yikes, some unfortunate positioning there, I had a nightmare with this encounter as a PC. Some of the rules it uses, mainly the spellcasting via what amount to essentially concealed arrow slits are pretty sketchy IMO, but they are called for in the scenario.

Considering what Scenario I wish to run for Gameday 2. I was considering running the Shades of Ice trilogy, or the Blackros, Mists of Mwangi, Voice in the Void, The Blackros Matrimony set. But there is a good chance some of you have run some of them. Or maybe some of the rarer more poorly rated scenarios, many of them suffer from needing lots of DM prep which is not such a big deal in PBP, and its hard to get to play them and worthwhile if you have many characters.

![]() |

I've run Mists and Voice from the Blakros set (and Echoes)--but if that's all that works for the rest of the group, don't let it stop you. There looks to be a glut of tables, if anything, this time around.
Speaking of, I'm going to be runnning Murder on the Throaty Mermaid for the Game Day. I don't want to poach anyone from this group, but if Broken or anyone else has additional characters looking for games, I'll be posting the recruitment thread later this afternoon.

I have played first two of Shades of Ice, and Mists of Mwangi from the ones you mention, but will replay if necessary for continuity.
I will be running two groups for Gameday, but they are just continuations of games I have now, which may be full. If not, I'll post here.

Link is here, if anyone is interested with another character.

Unfortunately I have 3 PFS characters and all 3 are currently involved in a scenario. GL though

Thanks everyone for the great game. I hope we get the opportunity to play togheter again soon!
:P

Thought I had already asked for day job rolls, but was mistaken. I'll roll them so I can get your sheets out faster hope that is okay :)
Rogar no day job.
Alafair no day job.
Tromos Craft Alchemy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Ket Profession Mediator 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Thovar no day job.

Alafair Chronicle
Thovar Chronicle
Rogar Chronicle
Ket Chronicle
Tromos
Thanks for playing all! Not sure what I am going to run next, considering an AP for PFS credit so let me know if you want a PM when I get it underway :)

Thanks for the Chron sheets. I think I need to withdraw from a few PbP committments for the time being and will take the opporutnity to go to the sidelines.
Best of luck in your new game, and thanks for running. Alafair is just one xp away from level 3 but she may have to wait a bit to get there. Thanks again and LMK when you get to adventure after this one (things may have slowed down by then).

I'd be honored to play again with you, when you decide what scenario to run I'd be more than willing to take part!
Thanks again,
Rogar

Thanks for the great game everyone! I too need to withdraw from the games I am playing and focus on the ones I am running. But maybe I'll join you again sometime in the future!
