I have 3 characters to choose from for this scenario.
Level 3 Ratfolk Investigator/Swashbuckler of the Dark Archive
Level 5 Half-Elf Psychic of Liberty's Edge
Level 7 Human Gunslinger/Swashbuckler of the Silver Crusade
Are there any Factions or plot arcs that are furthered by this scenario that I should consider when picking my character? If not I'll do my best to keep the subtier sane. Personality-wise I have good reasons for bringing any of those 3.

Grandmaster TOZ |

Nothing faction-wise, but it is a good choice for Concordance characters, despite being released before the faction was official.

![]() |

The only character I have that would likely end up Concordance is a character that I honestly don't enjoy playing much.
I do however have the overwhelming urge to bring a gunslinger to the plane of water... He just got home from the plane of fire so I guess he might as well continue his planar hopping. He's out of place wherever he goes... so for now I'll pencil in this character. If everyone else shows up with low tier characters I can change that.
This character is terrible. I'd apologize to everyone involved, but TBH I'm not sorry.
I think his profile needs to be updated since he leveled since I last played him on the boards.

Grandmaster TOZ |

Oddly enough, I also played my gunslinger in this. But it helped that she is an undine. :)

For higher-Tier, I've got a 7th-level aspiring Arcane Archer (but an archer's probably not good for an underwater adventure)
For lower-Tier, I have several better options:
a 3rd-level Palatine Eye cabalist (a good choice in that she's pretty experienced with extraplanar adventures, but otherwise a bad choice inasmuch as she can't swim for beans without magic)
a 3rd-level paranormal Investigator (a semi-competent swimmer, unnaturally lucky, good at finding hidden things, and even sniffing them out with the Scent ability)
a mysterious 4th-level Kensei (a strong swimmer, and also experienced with extraplanar adventures, but even intensely magical bastard swords don't perform as well underwater)
a 4th-level spooky Psychic prankster (good at what he does, but a crummy swimmer)

The penalty for ranged attacks underwater is -2 for every 5 ft of water it goes through. Since bows are piercing weapons they deal full damage. Oddly enough, not too bad of a penalty given how rough underwater combat can be.
Now as for how my weapon works underwater... that will probably take some GM calls.

hmmm a 3-7...
I have three within range I can bring
I am also up to play a level 4 or 7 pregen if the party makeup needs something else.
Low Tier
Winterhawk Level 3 Elf Summoner Think Mounted Arcane Archer
Lancyn Pendragon Level 4 Human Paladin of Iomedae Goody Goody, Soldier for the People
High Tier
Ebonwolf Metalbender Level 6 Half-Orc Warpriest of Torag/Fighter He has ventured to the Plane of Air and the Plane of Earth with a short foray next to the Plane of Fire.

Yeah... that's probably an appropriate response.
In my defense, Starfinder wasn't around when I made this character! Admittedly even if it was around I'd probably still have done this... Now as for my friend who plays a Dwarven archer in Starfinder... no excuse for him.

I ain't even all that mad, should be fun. I just feel like he needs to meet my buddies characters, Brosiedon Jr. and Aquarius Oceanrider. :)

Peeks in...
I'm not much good at combat, but I can keep everyone else healthy. I lick people to heal them, often from 10 feet away so I'm safe. Don't worry, I carry mint everywhere so that my froggy slobber is nice and minty fresh.
My friends say that I'm sweet and gentle. I don't like hurting people, but I sometimes have if my friends are in danger.
(This character just got two chronicles applied, one player and one GM, so won't be ready for a day, if that's OK. I plan to do the level up after getting the kids tucked into bed tonight.)
(edit: I forgot to add that Tad will be level 4 after the update)

... I love everything about this already.
Just for Clarification, and making sure we are all on the same page!
1) I have run this adventure before! As such, I'll let You all choose which character in range that I play!
2) I have a Variety of Options, some of which are more applicable!
3) I appreciate any cheese that makes TOZ glare.
So, on with the list!
Halfling Cavalier 4 (Girl on a Wolf with a gun)
Sylph Witch 3 (Casts spells through Harrow Cards, and throws them!)
Tiefling 'Hellknight' 5 (He's an occultist, but basically a fighter)
Suli Magus 3 (Sarenite Spontaneous Scimitar Swinger)
So basically, some front line, some back line, some arcane, some martial!

Grandmaster TOZ |

3) I appreciate any cheese that makes TOZ glare.
Well I never!
(You have to really watch out when I give you the Valsin.)

Mechanical abilities that are a little odd about Tad:
Uses agile tongue to deliver cure spells from 10 feet to avoid AoO
Can cast any spell of level 2 or lower on cleric spell list or domain spell without preparing it once a day from bonded holy symbol
Can swap out one of his domains' spells for another of his deities domains every morning
Cannot wear armor (so he's as squishy as a wizard; probably worse, since no mage armor)

Well, looks like we can pretty comfortably run any subtier, or arrange it such that we are midtier for the sole purpose of annoying TOZ.
High Tier Option:
William (7)
IHIYC's Archer (7)
Iconic Shaman (7)
Ebonwolf (6)
Korolan's Hellknight (5)
Thaddeus (4)
APL = 6, High tier, Thaddeus playing up
Low-Tier Option
Everyone here has a 3 or 4... so APL = 3-4, Low tier
Annoy TOZ Option
William (7)
Ebonwolf (6)
Korolan's Hellknight (5)
Thaddeus (4)
Iconic Shaman (4)
Any of IHIYK's other characters (3 or 4)
APL = 4.8-5, midtier annoyances! [Mid-tier, 4p adjustment]

If cheese be What your looking for.
A very stout and rotund humanoid walks into the briefing room. Those who notice the man enter make a double take. Upon first glance the rather tall 'dwarf' you thought is beginning to turn out to look like an ancestry confused half-orc. From his long braided beard riddled dwarven runes and beads, to the Twin Dwarven Waraxes strapped to his back, and not to mention the Iron Symbol of Torag hanging about his neck which is also tattooed to his right hand and shimmering in the light.
Even further adding to the strange situation the Half-Orc begins to address the assembling group. In a thick dwarven accent and cadence he says "Oi, I thin' I be'in the right spot. Names Ebonwolf, Ebonwolf Metalbender of clan Meddalbender. Head Brewmaster of me family, Warpriest of Torag and Friend ta tha Sa'iety." Now that he stands near you are able to see he wears the Vestments of a priest, although clean, they are stained from travel on the road and blood from battle. His un-sleeved arms tell a story of both adventure and the cruelty of a past life. His left arm is covered from finger tip up to just above his collar bone in the Tattoos and Scarification one receives when being trained as a shaman of Rovagug. His right arm however seems a cheerier sort, the back of his right hand is emblazoned with a shining Holy Symbol of Torag surrounding this are able to see tattoos and skin bleaching common to Wayangs.
"Oh for I be forgetten." he blurts out in surprise. He fiddles with a a strap across his chest and then releases a large pony keg that was attached to his back. "Tha be me special brew, smooth and flavorful but it'll knock ye on yer backside faster than ye lay praise ta Torag." he sets the pony keg on the table and taps it; filling a few pint glasses he passes out to any who wish to partake.

Alright, I'll plan on using William then!
We may have to work out a standard operating procedure for reactions... I'll get his character sheet updated tonight and let you know about any purchases he plans to make before we get started.
Also... how will William's gun work underwater anyways?

![]() |

I feel like every time I open my mouthtype a post that TOZ's alias narrows his eyes more and more...
Anyhow, rather than opportune parry and ripose, I have opportune redirect and riposte. Instead of parrying attacks against me, I can redirect attacks from adjacent allies to myself assuming I'm in reach of the original attack.
Rather than getting a dodge bonus to AC, I give all of my adjacent allies a dodge bonus to AC
I uh... also have the ability to give the whole party teamwork feats by spending panache. One of those feats is...
...um...
So basically I'm going to run around with a Sonic Rifle, body checking people, jumping in front of attacks at my allies, and giving them free attacks.

If everyone wants high tier, I can easily add one more not yet used GM credit to make Tad be level 5. I've been itching for him to get some more abilities, and level 3 spells would do that. I just need to know before I do his levelling up.

Grandmaster TOZ |

Hold on. *checks stats* You have more than 10 Con, you should be fine.

Character updated, info added to slides.
Craft (Gunsmithing): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
This character shall not die this day. His goal is to march into the Worldwound and keep shooting demons until he falls. Only the most glorious of deaths for the great W.I. Blazkovich!
As a note... if he ever gets that opportunity that likely WILL be the end of this character.

![]() |

The name Billy Blazkovich literally just clicked when you started mentioning Demons.
I too have some GM credit that I will be shifting to this Lovable Lump of Steel. He should be a Solid 6 by the time we start! I'll have his Stat Block up shortly!

Profession(Barrister): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Sheet should be all up to date!

Tad goes over to sample Ebonwolf's brew, but he shakes his head when he sees the size of the glass. "Way too much for me." Seeing that the little grippli is barely two feet tall, you see what he means.

![]() |

Seeing the grippli recognize the size of the glasses Ebonwolf says "A ha mighty grippli hold on a second. Here ya go." the half-orc pulls a half pint tankard from his pack and fills it for cleric.

![]() |

Tad sips happily at Ebonwolf's brew, although he does not nearly finish off even the smaller tankard. (He can probably drink less than 1/8 what a human can with the same effects...)
Profile is ready, so Tad is ready to go whenever everyone else is.

So what Tier are we doing, and who should I play?

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Here is Shardra !

Grandmaster TOZ |

Judging from the signup sheet on the Google Slide, we are solidly high tier.
