mark will us a +1 abberation bane arrow hit: 4 + 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + 1 + (5) = 10 this does not include cover or firing into melee penalty or any other penalty I might have
dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Haro はろ |
Just bringing this to this page.
Init Jenya: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Init Mark Shadowlord: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Init Haro: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 - rolled himself, got an 18
Init Therbin:
Init Woonsul: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Init Evad: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Init Otyugh: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Haro はろ |
haro takes a 5 foot step unto the creature. He releases a flurry of blows.
flurry 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
flurry 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
"Yu no no kungfu." He laughs to himself as if he made some kind of joke.
Evad Alacar |
As the creature moves closer Evad gets a better look at the beast.
"Gozreh be praised! Look at what you have made!"
As much as he would like to demonstrate his martial prowess, his courage fails him a bit. Instead of rushing headlong into the attack, he holds his ground and let's lose another bullet from his sling.
sling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Therbin Warrak |
Seeing the creature advance and trying to stay out of reach of its tentacles, Therbin takes a step back. While doing so, he growls, "Give me power!" as his left hand and then his bow temporarily glow red.
Takes a 5' step back and uses Arcane pool to add +1 to bow as swift action. (9 rounds remaining)
He then takes aim at the creature unleashing an arrow.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As Jenya steps back and fires her gun she quickly finds out that she isn't safe from the creatures tentacles (it has 15ft reach)
AOO vs Jenya: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
As the creature's tentacles flails above her head Jeyna simply ducks out of the way and fires her gun point blank at it as is sails past
Marks uses one of the arrows specially designed to be used against abberations but it is deflected by one of the creatures tentacles and slams into the ceiling before it can cause any harm (doesn't hit AC)
Haro steps closer to the creatures and unleashes a flurry of attacks, hitting the creature in rapid succession.
Evad let's loose another bullet from his sling but the bullet just bounces harmlessly off the creatures shoulder (doesn't hit AC)
Therbin tries to fire a mean looking red glowing arrow into the Otyugh but unable to focus on not hitting Haro who's locked in close combat with the creature his aim is of and the arrow misses (doesn't hit AC - also cover and firing into melee penalties)
init
Woonsul
Otyugh
Damage Togg the Otyguh: 15
Map update, not sure who can and can't see the map so sticking to some highlights: Jenya is now 10 ft away from the Otyguh (which is still within its reach) with Evad behind her preventing her from taking a 5ft step (unless you want to go into the sewage). Haro is next to the creature.
Woonsul Paek |
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Woonsul quietly steps five feet sideways, slings a bullet towards the abberation, and steps another five feet back into cover.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Unless you have some feat I've never heard about you can't actually move twice in a round. You can only take a 5ft step if you don't move in your round.
Woonsul slings a bullet towards the creature but it's moving around to much for Woonsul to get a decent enough hit in (doesn't hit AC - also cover and firing into melee penalties)
The creatures roars!
"You are not nice food!"
As it unleashes a flurry of attacks that makes Haro's pale by comparison
To bite Haro AC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
To confirm vs Haro AC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
the creature starts with a powerful bite that almost cleaves Haro in half
Damage Haro: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 and a Fort save DC 14 vs disease of become infected.
It then continues to flail away at Haro
Tentacle 1 vs Haro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Tentacle 2 vs Haro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
hitting once.
Damage Haro: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 and
To try to grab Haro as a free action vs CMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
the tentacle that hit Haro quickly wraps around Haro and starts to squeeze
constrict damage Haro: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
init
You guys
Otyugh
Damage Togg the Otyguh: 15
Map, not sure who can and can't see the map so sticking to some highlights: Jenya is now 10 ft away from the Otyguh (which is still within its reach) with Evad behind her preventing her from taking a 5ft step (unless you want to go into the sewage). Haro is next to the creature and is grabbed by it.
Mark Shadowlord |
you are bond to go down soon.
Mark fires off another +1 bane abberation arrow hit: 5 + 1 + 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + 1 + 2 + (4) = 12 cover and or firing into melee not included. Are you kidding me? 3 low attack rolls in a row. also, I keep forgetting the +2 due to bane property still, that would have made last turns attack a 12 and now this turns attack a 12, which I'm positive is still a miss.
dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Evad Alacar |
Haro - If you break the grapple and are able to take a 5 foot step back (if you want). I can take a 5 ft step forward into the water and cast CLW. If you can't break the grapple I'll risk it and move to you and cast CLW.
Jayne - one way or the other I'll move, if you want to delay and take a 5 ft step back.
Therbin Warrak |
Seeing the Monk take a vicious attack and now being held by the creature, Therbin says,"I guess we should have given him food since he's about to eat Haro instead."
Concerned that his arrow may not be able to hit the creature and that he can't get to Haro to help free him, Therbin speaks a few words and sends a globe of acid at the foe.
Cast acid splash
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 4 = 8
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
+1 bow (8 rounds left). Wow things aren't looking good with our rolling.
Haro はろ |
Damage taken is 20
fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Haro tries to break the hold that this thing has on him. He's read too many comics about what will happen next, and he doesn't want that to happen.
breaking hold: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Evad Alacar |
Looks like Haro has broken the grapple so...
Evad takes a 5 foot step forward and to his right into the murky water.
swim: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Touching Haro's shoulder he shouts "OH GREAT GOZREH MAY YOUR WATER'S CLEANSING POWER HEAL THIS BROTHER"
casts CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Evad Alacar |
I crited my swim check, seems about right for this fight, lol.
Haro はろ |
Yeah, in another game, i critted this creature and rolled 1 on both dice... ended up doing 18 damage though.
Haro sighs in release. "You thank, It dirty."
Jenya Poole |
Jenya five foot steps back to where Evad was , reloads with another paper cartridge and let's fly again. Shoot it and back up towards the ladder we came from she yells to the group.
Point Blank shot on Touch with Up Close and Deadly: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 1 + (6) = 15
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Mark fires one of the 2 remaining aberration bane arrows in the direction of the otyguh but only manages to hit the wall near it, shattering the arrow without causing any damage to his target (doesn't hit AC)
Therbin tries to do the same as he shoots his bow..but get's a very similar result (doesn't hit AC)
Haro coughs as he feels his temperature spike (no effect yet, but diseased) but manages to escape the hold the otyguh's tentacle had.
@Evad, you are casting within the Otyguh's reach ....I'll assume that you cast the spell before moving so that it didn't provoke this time, since that's possible to do..but otherwise you would have had to cast on the defensive (and risk loosing the spell)..or provoke an AOO
Evad summons a glow around one of his hands and he draws in some healing power before moving to touch Haro and transfer that energy to heal Haro
Jenya steps back out of the reach of the creatures tentacles and manages to shoot it where it hurts.
Since it's been over a day..
Woonsul takes up a defensive stand, trying to make him self small enough to be missed (going full defensive)
The Otyguh screams as Jenya's bullet hits it and moves away from you
Out of combat unless your pursue it, it makes it around the corner so you I think can't shoot at it this round anyway..and after that it will manage to escape. It's morale lists that it has no interest in losing her life over a few treats and will try to escape when brought below a certain number of hp
Damage Otyguh: 30
Revvy Bitterleaf |
To speed up some things since I'm sure you will do those once you are healed enough to look around
The tunnel to the east leads to a dead end (or a grate to small for you to pass through) but since it's not listed on the directions you were given that doesn't matter.
A bit further to the north you find what must have been the otyguh's lair.
The bricks that once sealed off this natural cave appear to have been removed long ago. Garbage litters the cave’s floor, and the knee-deep pile writhes with beetles. Fresher pieces of refuse lie on the top, largely untouched by the resident decomposers.
Mark Shadowlord |
okay, I have a 50% chance to recover each individual missed arrow after combat.
regular arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 96 at least I don't have to buy back that arrow, as the other stuff is lost at the end of the scenario anyway.
bane arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 22
bane arrow 2: 1d100 ⇒ 46
Haro はろ |
Haro groins. "It hurt." he puts his hand down to his leg. "Magic stick forgot. like heal."
Currently Haro's HP is at 12. I would love a heal since i forgot to grab a wand...
Evad Alacar |
Yes and thanks I will indeed cast cLW then step into the danger zone. Thanks for clarifying it.
Would the antiplague we were given help whatever Haro caught from that bite?
I have one more CLW spell I can cast on Haro, but then I'm out. Is the way it goes for brand new 1st level. Anyone else have a Wand of CLW and be willing to share?
Let me know if you want me to use the CLW spell
Evad Alacar |
We should search the lair... just in case.
Therbin Warrak |
Therbin looks at the monk's injuries. After that encounter, he realizes he will need all the help he can get to complete this mission.
"Here, I have a wand you can use," as he hands the wand to Evad. "If someone is going to search the lair, make it quick. I don't want that thing coming back."
Revvy Bitterleaf |
So , yes the antiplaque would help.. you get to roll twice at the end of the day to see if you get better
Haro はろ |
Haro looks at the crew of pathfinders. "Venture Captain gave magic water. Good for sickness. Me use?"
Evad Alacar |
Evad takes the wand from Therbin. "Thank you brother"
He touches the wand to Haro, twice, realizing the wounds look very bad.
use wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
use wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He then hands the vial of antiplague to Haro.
"May Gozreh heal what ails you"
Evad Alacar |
Realizing the wounds are still not completely healed he touches the wand to Haro again.
use wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Haro はろ |
Now that Haro is healed back up. He takes the potion of antiplague and hopes that it fixes whatever the beasty did to him.
fort save#2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Now with the crits.... FML...
Revvy Bitterleaf |
@Haro that's actually not how the antiplaque works ..you are infected right now, but at the end of the day when it would take effect you can roll twice (instead of once) to see if you get better..but for now we'll just assume that you rolled a 20 at the end of the day and will get better..of this disease
So what do you want to do now that Haro's been healed?
Evad Alacar |
Search the creatures liar.
Evad quickly but carefully examines the creatures liar.
preception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Evad Alacar |
Assuming others may want to take a quick look as well
Then what do the maps say about whether to go left or right, if it says I say we do that. If to the left watching out for the creature as we go.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Neither Evad nor Jenya find anything of interest or even value in the nest.
As Mark peers around the corner (to the east as the directions you are following indicate) he sees;
The tunnel terminates in a small shrine centered around a large statue of a rat, around which handfuls of baubles and trinkets lie as if left as offerings. Nearly every brick bears some type of scratch marks, many having the appearance of writing without actually forming coherent letters. About one foot above the walkway, a large pipe emerges from the southern wall.
As Mark keeps watching to give the rest of the party a chance to catch up two male humans (one dark haired and one blond, both carrying a staff and having a dagger at his belt) crawl out of the pipe.
Mark Shadowlord |
wait what, I wanted the other corner, where I originally had him, where the corner was bending down, as I didn't want to go after that creature, but we know what is there now, so, oh well.
Anyway Mark will keep his bow raised and say halt who goes there? and if they do not respond or move even just 15 feet closer he will fire an arrow at the supposed wizard, since the wizard is more dangerous. This is a sewer, the chances of friendly people down here are slim to none. ie similiar to a dungeon crawl. My in character also believes the no good person would be here unless they were brave heroic adventurers.
attack: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (11) = 16 any penalties I might have, have not been applied.
dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 3 piercing sorry but my characters lives I value, I really don't want to risk them getting the drop on me, it would be different if I wasn't forced into meeting other people or if I wasn't in the lead when people appeared in a sewer. anyway this is just a readied attack, under the following conditions above.
Evad Alacar |
Evad catches up as well, moving carefully.
Haro はろ |
after hearing that the other two didn't find anything in the lair. Haro takes a quick look inside.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
He follows everyone else. holding his quarterstaff ready for any big nasties that may follow.
Mark Shadowlord |
We're fighting a lot more than I expected.
not unless they respond. Because if they respond, then obviously I didn't fire. I give them about 3 seconds to respond before I get the surprise round on them.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
@Mark the one you moved too I already mentioned as being a dead end, so I just moved you to the next corridor to save some time
At Mark's question the 2 men look at each with puzzled expressions and then one of them answers; I'm Marixite and this is Pellius..who are you?" ..they don't seem hostile..more indifferent to you then anything else
Feel free to roll a diplomacy check if you want to make them more friendly
Woonsul Paek |
"The big guy said you wouldn't ask stupid questions. You must be rattled. Something's going on and we're just here to fix it. Redundancies and such. ”bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

My apologies, I thought I had clicked to post as Evad but accidentally posted as Chaosorbit. And apparently you can only edit posts for so long.
