Mark move in running towards the party. Oh, look an 1 foot bush is in my way, time to show off instead of going around it. acrobatics: -2 + 1d20 ⇒ -2 + (8) = 6

Haro はろ |
Haru is looking at the trees, wondering to himself where can i get one of these for my place. He hears something behind her, and see a Tengu crouched on the ground. He tenses up and looks at him and says in Tengu "Friend or foe be you?"
Haru is a genus in his country, but he is not that good at any language but his own.
Mark Shadowlord |
In Tengu: He responds back with a funny expression on he face.
that depends, if you want to show off with me, I'm your friend. If you try to show off better than me, I'll be your foe in competition. Stunt buddies and battle buddies, or are you my competitor that will out jump me and brag, out climb me and brag, and brag that you have more kills than me? As long as none of us is keeping score on anything and as long as we do things just for the pure fun and sport, then it is friend.
Haro はろ |
Haru smiles and replies in Tengu, "less kills buys drinks." He turns back to look at the tree.
Evad Alacar |
Evad stands with his back leaning against the trees Haru is looking at. You would be sure he was a Mwangi man, if not for the tell-tale pointy elven ears. He has a dark complexion, but it is clear he must be a half-elf; as he is far to light in color to be a drow. Other than the ears, it’s his human features that are most prominent.
He wears green and blue linen robes tied with a rope belt. Around his neck is a cord with a piece of driftwood carved into the shape of a leaf with a drop of water on its end. His hair is braided with feathers and seaweed woven in to the braids and his scruffy beard seems at odds with him to grow. A worn leather satchel stretches across one shoulder and he holds an also well-worn leather bound book in his right hand.
Evad’s wide mouth features a generous smile, as he is obviously amused by Mark and Haru’s interchange. He speaks in an unexpectedly deep and gruff voice.
“Gozreh’s fair breeze favors us this day. Birdman take flight if you will and taste Gozreh’s freedom. You’ll not find a fairer wind for days. Look how the branches above rejoice in it!”
Haro はろ |
Haru switches to common to reply to Evad, "Blessed day it be. Wind in fur is... he pauses to remember the correct wording. Good.
He sits down and pulls out a blue book out of his bag and a piece of chalk and starts to draw the tree.

You all meet-up and together proceed to;
The ramshackle tenement outside of Korvosa softly echoes with the sound of light rain as Venture-Captain Sir Canayven Heidmarch begins his briefing.
“For this mission you will have to venture into the sewers beneath Korvosa. Sascha Antif-Arah,” he announces, gesturing to a haggard human woman who is past her prime but whose posture expresses confidence and experience, “requires access to a particular vault. The society is going to help her.” Sascha eyes each of you in turn then nods to herself with some satisfaction and steps forward gracefully.
“Some years ago my friends and I had made quite a name for ourselves around Korvosa, and our adventures earned us a considerable amount of gold. We stashed most of it in one of the Vaults after evicting the cult that had already claimed it.”
Sascha pauses for a moment, smiles, and shakes her head as if recalling particularly amusing details of the raid. “Anyway, I retired from the business after that, started up a shop, and lived peacefully until I got into trouble with the Hellknights.
“I can’t show my face in Korvosa because I don’t fancy spending my retirement in shackles, but I’m willing to cede my share of the loot in that Vault to you. It’s no dragon’s hoard, but it should be more than worth your time. The only thing I want from there is an old locket—nothing magical or worth fencing, but it means a lot to me. Once I have it, I’m getting out of this place and off to somewhere the Order of the Nail has no sway.
“The entrance shouldn’t be too hard to find, assuming you know what to look for,” she remarks as she fishes several folded papers from her haversack. “There’s an old service entrance into the sewers about a quarter mile north of my old shop in Midland; I wrote down directions that should lead you to the vault. There’s a big room inside, and I stashed my share under the flagstones in one of the small chambers nearby.”
She extracts a few more items from her bag and holds them out. “I hope you don’t need these, but you never know. I certainly won’t be using them in my retirement. Good luck to you, Pathfinders.”
The items Sascha grants you include three +1 aberration bane arrows, two antitoxins, a vial of antiplague, (Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Equipment 100) and an alkali flask (Ultimate Equipment 106)
If you want you can ask questions now, or roll to see if you know something about the area yourself (roll once, you are allowed to look at the spoiler depending how high your check was)

Jenya considers the lady's words From what I know, sea water flows into the vaults and creatures can come with it. Hopefully not but It'd be good to be prepared. she nods at Haro. That's what you were talking about right?
Haro はろ |
Haro looks at this lady and nods his head. "Your speak sounds correct." he stands up and walks to her. "Name Haro, Meet you Nice. he bows his head at Jenya.
Evad Alacar |
"Good lady, does the vault itself have defenses we should know about, traps and other heinous things?"
Revvy Bitterleaf |
At Haro's question
"The Hellknights shouldn't know about you, and have no reason to follow your doings..they are only after me because apparently accidentally stepping onto the streets between Hellknights and a wanted criminal indicates that a completely innocent citizen is an accomplice. I was unjustly convicted, but I’d rather not test the local law enforcement’s patience by trying my luck out there.”
To Evad
"Yes, there was a trap set on the vault door.. it might still be around..it might even still be functional after all this time. You'd better be careful when you open the vault door"
Just let me know when you are ready to move (and distribute the items you received)
Evad Alacar |
After the briefing is completed, Evad removes the chimes from his satchel and steps out, into the rain. Standing with his arm outstretched, he begins shaking the chimes gently in time to the sound of the falling rain, while quietly chanting a hymn to Gozreh. Once the rest of the party is ready to go, he puts his chimes away; opens his waterskin and takes a drink holding in his mouth; he pours more water into his hand and dumps it onto his already wet head.
Evad is ready as well. I guess the arrows should go to Mark and the Flask to whoever has the best range touch attack. The other items to whomever.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Navigating Korvosa;
The Midland district, packed with markets and banks, bustles with commercial activity despite the drizzling rain, and you have no trouble finding the concealed sewer entrance in the secluded alley so long as you follow Sascha’s directions.
The sewer entrance is easily opened and you can climb down now if you want.
(Once everyone is ready and you all go down;)
Unless otherwise noted, the sewer tunnels are roughly 8 feet tall, and the water flows leisurely, requiring a DC 10 Swim check to traverse.
A rusty, slime-encrusted steel ladder descends into the Korvosan sewers, whose tunnels stretch to the north, east, and south like roads in an underground city. Curtains of fungus and mold hang from the ceilings, which rise roughly ten feet above the tunnels’ walkways, which run along either side of the sewage channels. Occasional dim patches of light filter in from the streets above providing minimal illumination.
Despite the sickening smell of decay, the tunnels are free of garbage, waste, and the other byproducts of Korvosan life.
These tunnels are the first of those detailed in Sascha’s directions, and her notes direct you to make your way north from the ladder.
As you all arrive at the bottom of the stairs you notice that the only light is that coming from directly above (or what you brought in with you) Please let me know if you can see in the dark or if you carry some sort of light
You hear a voice from the north “Give something good to Togg. I am Togg. Give Togg good food with good taste.”
Evad Alacar |
Evad has low-light. I'll go ahead and grab the two antitoxins, and vial of antiplague
"Togg I have some delicious dried fruit I can share with you."
Something tells me Togg won't appreciate what half-elves eat.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As more light appears you can get a better look at what Togg looks like; This three-legged freak is mostly mouth. Three tentacles, two tipped with barbs and one with eyes, extend from its sides.
It roars and whips it's toothed tentacles across the walls and ceiling to display strength
“Sewers have lots of food, but I want better food. Food from above! Tasty drinks!”Togg points to Woonsul with one of it's tentacles and adds, “That one looks good. It’s small. No one would notice it’s gone.”
Mechanically you can either fight it, or use diplomacy to let you pass and you get a bonus to the check for amount/cost of the food you are offering..and pretty much anything you can eat or drink counts as food.
Mark Shadowlord |
dungeoneering: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (11) = 15 he then silently signals to his allies to just go ahead and attack it. it would also make a nice surprise round. It could be good, but my character is willing to take that chance.

Jenya sighs, she was no talker herself but it felt wrong for her to attack something that wasn't hostile to them and was just talking.
She readies an action to shoot the monster but only after someone else attacks it first. That way she figures, she's acting to protect her team mates and not shooting something that wasn't threatening them.
Assuming it's within 20 feet of Jenya

Otyugh
Evad Alacar |
Jenya there is a map linked at the top that shows the distance. Since I'm lower in the int order I'll wait for a few others to post. Before deciding what to do. Hoping Therbin and Woonsul decide to show up.
Mark Shadowlord |
I was going to ask if this was a cave or a dungeon, but I doublechecked the deepwalker and realized I don't get that till level 3
anyway I shift while pulling out my bow and fire. hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (1) = 5
dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 8 piercing.
not that I should be looking them up, but to help you out, my guess is you were trying to look up therbin instead of otyugh. If you are new to DMing that is okay and understandable. Therbin is the pet name. Like the name of my brothers dog is Bacon, but it is still a dog.
the creature is here this thing Don't worry I didn't look at the stats, I just wanted to know if I could find the creature in the first place to help you out.
Evad Alacar |
Jenya I have the same problem. Home now so I can share. Path goes to the north, the Otyugh is right now 35 feet from you in that direction. It looks to be a 2x2 creature, so it most likely has reach. The sewers all go straight can't see that direction how far and south as well.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
I've updated the map to the east a bit seeing how Jenya used her wayfinder to make light, for those that can't see the map; It's a T-intersection with you in the middle next to the ladder your climbed down on, there's nothing in it to the east and south. And as Evan stated, there's a large creature to your north
@Mark, this a sewer and as far as I know does not count as a cavern or dungeon ..at least not in this part
@Evan, all though I have no problem with you waiting to see someone else his or her action I do want to point out that in order to keep the game going I will skip your action if too much time passes without you having posted something you want to do. So no problem if you check/post a lot, but otherwise you might want to post an action anyway and just add a comment that you won't take it till something happens. Being lower in init order doesn't matter a whole lot since you guys could technically delay each turn until someone - the first person to post comes out of delay)
Mark, while drawing his bow shifts into raw sewage Your the first player I've ever seen that voluntarily walks into the sewer water..most avoid it like..well the plaque and the sudden rush of filthy water on his feathers makes him flinch and throws of his aim making his arrow fly wide and hit the ceiling above the creature he was aiming for.
After Marks opening move Jenya moves closer to the tentacled horror and fires her gun at it, hitting it in it's left tentacle. the creature roars in outrage and pain
@Jenya, moved you 20ft closer so that you are at 20ft distance from it now - and you are it's closest target at the moment

Looks like map is off edge of screen and I don't see any character locations. Sorry about my delay.
Seeing the creature and the sewer water, Therbin moves north towards the creature past the eastward tunnel and tries to jump across the water to the other edge to get an angle on the creature.
jump(acrobatics): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Mark Shadowlord |
someone probably move the map by accident, or tried to move character and move the map, it happens, I moved it back, best I could so everyone is centered on a square, since I know where we were all at last
Haro はろ |
Haru moves forward to the edge of the walkway and flips across and pulls out his quarterstaff and readies to attack.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Evad Alacar |
Evad takes a 5 foot step forward and launches a sling stone at the creature.

Hey Mark don't forget about the three +1 aberration bane arrows
Revvy Bitterleaf |
@haro, yes you are very much in combat now
Therbin moves to the other side with a hop while Haro moves to the other side of the sewer with an impressive back-flip while Evad throws a stone at the creature's feet (doesn't hit flatfooted AC)
Woonsol casts a spell and quickly finds out his intended spell has no effect Daze has a target of a humanoid of 4 HD or less..this is not a humanoid
Not effected by the green lights at all the creature roars and moves forward, striking at both Haro and Jenya with a tentacle
to hit AC Jenya: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
to hit AC Haro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
...but it seems the green lights are distracting it after all as it fails to hit with either attack
