Someone in one of my other games came up with the idea of doing character introduction to kill time, and to get to know each other's characters a bit. I quite like that idea :) There's nothing to post about my character though. So I'll just post a bit about myself:
My name's Stephan, and I'm from The Netherlands. I've been playing Pathfinder for over a year now, mostly PbP. I started GMing PbP games about half a year ago.
The games I currently run are Curse of the Crimson Throne, and the PFS games Shadow's Last Stand part 2 and Tide of Twilight. I've played The Confirmation twice, and look forward to GMing it! :)

Dinuci is a druid and a dwarf. He looks like a stout dwarf clad in hide armor and with a gigantic backpack on his back, tools sticking out every possible hole.
He grew up not underground but in the forest, alone with his parents. He spent many years there until there was nothing left for him there and he set out. He now roams the world looking for adventure with his loyal companion Riri.
I've been brought into pathfinder by Stephan actually and also live in the Netherlands. I'm currently running a homebrew, my second game I GM.

PFS #: 89635-4
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day Job: None (come on, 5 prestige!)
About my character: Silas is a follower of Iomedae, and a religious fanatic. His most treasured possession is his well-worn copy of Acts of Iomedae, which he carries everywhere. He quotes this holy book regularly, and anyone who doesn't follow his goddess is simply not as good. That being the case, he's more Lawful Ruthless than Lawful Stupid-- anyone who behaves immorally and isn't of his faith he will not hesitate to take out. Then again, even if they are of his faith he might take them out anyway, as a "stain" on Iomedae's faithful.

Growing up in the Cinderlands, life was hard for Acher growing up. Of course, to the Shoanti child it was a fair type of hardship: one that would wipe away the weak but reveal wonders of to those who proved strong enough to endure it. Acher adored the dry beauty of the Storval Plateau, and trained hard to become a great warrior like her brothers before her.
Yet the more she honed her skills and began to tap into her own passion and rage, the more she felt something...pulling at her. An itch that could not be scratched, Acher came to understand (though exactly HOW she understood this is something even she cannot fully verbalize), that a greater calling had fallen upon her, and that she had a destiny that could not be accomplished by remaining at home. And so, with a conflicted heart, she descended from the Storval Plateau to the lowlands of Varisia. Learning of an organization that scoured the globe for strange finds and impossible discoveries, Acher joined the Pathfinder Society, hoping that in her work with them she may finally understand what path is waiting for her.
Acher is friendly enough, and tends to take people at their word, though holds harsh grudges against those who break such initial trust. Raised in a culture where strength meant survival, she is decisive in word and action, even if her forceful personality sometimes causes her to come across too strongly. She misses Varisia, but hopes that the bonds she can form through the society might lessen her homesickness.

Haroldo "Harry" Hart
Harry is a city boy. You'd think he'd have learned by now not to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong, but, unfortunately that's one lesson the Smartest Boy In The Room (tm) has failed to learn. He's managed to survive a few beatings, first from the neighborhood bullies, then from criminals in the area as he started looking into things that caught his attention. He's developed a bit of an interest in magic items - they're easy to sell for some quick gold - and kept coming across Pathfinders in his hunts around the city for loose items looking for ownership. Eventually, one of them suggested that he may want to become a Pathfinder Agent, and so, here he is, ready to undergo his confirmation after training.
Harry is your basic starting skill monkey. He isn't so good with a sword, though he keeps his brass knuckles handy and knows his way around a bow. He isn't too great with the finger twiddling, but he's figured out how to mix some ingredients together to give him a little boost when he needs it. Thanks to Inspiration, Harry can be very very good at skill checks, particularly knowledge, linguistics, and spellcraft. He hasn't learned everything, yet, but he keeps liberating interesting looking books from the local stores (he returns them - he understands the concept of a lending library, and really wishes there were one nearby that had books HE was interested in!).
(First PbP so I'll have questions, but I've been playing pathfinder since it came out, and 3.5 for a few years before that. I had a long break before that, but I had played red box and blue box D&D, as well as 1st ed AD&D a long long time ago. I'm on the east coast of the US.
@Acher: How did you embed that die roll into the post?)

@ Harry Hart: Use the 'dice' tags in your post.
Ex. (dice)1d20+14(/dice), except with [] instead of ().
Other usefull tags are (ooc)(/ooc) for Talk like this, for out-of-character comments, and (b)(/b) and (i)(/i) for bold and italicized text

Hey my pathfinder number is #107199-2
Faction is Sczarni
Daytime job is not a lot.
Chilly's name was his nickname earned on the streets from his pragmatic, cool sense of doing what was needed to be done, and deal with other issues later. He was born on the streets of Absolum and soon learned that there was no such thing as a free lunch. Quick with a punch dagger, he gained a rep as a nasty fight. He left his home to roam the world, seeking wealth and fame. This led him to the doors of the pathfinder society as the best way to do this.

I'll be sitting in the back working the shortbow... but my "magic" is really limited to myself for this campaign (it won't work for anyone but me until I take the right ability).
So, sure, you guys go ahead and rush up front, I'll sit back here, make sure no one is sneaking up behind us, and try to warn you about those traps you're about to hit.... *grin*
Thank you all for the help in getting started with the Forum stuff.
@StephNyan - I'll probably be making use of inspiration a lot. Effectively - I get to add a d6 for free to a trained knowledge skill check, as well as linguistics and spellcraft as long as I have some left in my pool. I can also choose to spend a point from my pool to add it in certain situations (eg other skill checks). I'm mentioning this because the last time I played an investigator (during the playtest, admittedly), some GMs were confused as to why I was adding a d6 to so many rolls. (I haven't take Improvisation as a feat, so I can't make unskilled knowledge checks with Harry, but, he's got a lot of the knowledges going for him already)

Sounds like a good defensive plan, hehe.
And you're welcome! Feel free to ask whatever you don't know about the forum.
I'm familiar with the ability, but thanks anyway for explaining it ;)
Yes in one game he turned me into a smurf...sort off. Don't ask.
Muahaha!

Gah, forgot about Guidance and Insprie Courage buffs. So +2 attacvk, +1 damage if counting. Or if it's a 'nned to remember at the time' situation, then no problem C'est la vie :)

Hoping some of you may be willing to offer an opinion on the boons. For a human investigator, custom order makes the most sense? I think I could actually but magic ammo quickly that way - and affordable too if I'm not ordering in lots of 50!

StephNyan |

The boon doesn't have to be used by the character Harry. You may apply it to any PFS character you own! You may even choose to not apply it to a character, and keep hold of it until you want to apply it to one. (That may change your perspective a bit!)
I don't really like Custom Order. It just lets you order in batches of 10 instead of 50. Maybe neat when you're low on money, in the early levels, but not worth much in the long run. I'd rather get an awesome mount or animal companion I usually wouldn't be able to get, get an upgrade for a mount or animal companion I'm already allowed to take, or make use of weapons my race/class usually wouldn't be able to use without a -4 penalty.

Thanks!
I forgot that boons can be applied to anyone - not just the character you're playing. Ancestral Ally may work well with another character idea I had. I'll send you a PM with my email as soon as I figure how to send PMs (hopefully next 1-2 minutes)

StephNyan |

Yes, a very good game. If you need a player, chilly is available. Just pm and ask.
I want to run the entire Thornkeep dungeon. I'll start that game within a month or so, and am looking for level 2 characters to join.
You'll go up 1 level for each dungeon level, ending up at level 7 when you've completed the dungeon.

StephNyan |

I'm glad you enjoyed it! ;)
Check Kludde's thread for more games. There are also several more of those threads on the board.
And of course there are the standard recruitments in the recruitment forum.
