Curtzog Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Lucky for Ragnar, Curtzog is all lusty for Kaylee and is about to do something tactically foolish...

Round 3:
Curtzog (8 damage taken)
Ragnar
Gnoll (6 damage taken)
Captain (27 damage taken)
Belven
Kaylee
Hrothgar

Curtzog rushes forward past the dwarf, ignoring everything but that which he desires! He advances on Kaylee with very impure thoughts in mind...

This provokes and AoO from Hrothgar but not from Kaylee? I'm not sure why you though it would Kaylee (in your prior post)? Or just making kissy face with an armed opponent provokes?

Ragnar takes his swing at the Captain but misses.

The gnoll fires again at Belven but his shot goes wide out into the water!

Yeah I was thinking because he would essentially be trying to grapple her without improved grapple, he would provoke from her. Assuming that's still the case:

bladed fan: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

After missing with her fighting fan, Kaylee will five-foot step back from the poor lusty half-orc and cast daze on him as a spell-like ability. Will save DC 16 or lose your action, Curt!

Ragnar's blood sprays out of the deep cut in his neck. His rage is clearly the only thing that's keeping him up and fighting at the moment. His face contorts as he faces the captain, ready to slash at her again.

Ragnar's sight was beginning to darken as Hrothgar healed him, closing the most nasty wounds. He surveys the battlefield for a second just as Curtzog's blade cuts deep into Kaylee. He grunts and turns back to face the captain, moving in order to flank her. A primal feeling swells up in the midst of his rage. The pain seems to disappear as he surrenders to his new sense of invulnerability "You think these wounds will stop me? Ha! Try to stop me now, woman! After finishing off the half-orc, Ragnar stands in position, heaving, before looking around at the mess that once was the ship's deck. "Yes, let's search this place, take whatever we can and get out of here."

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Once revived Kaylee rushes down into the hold and sees the hold of the At Sea has been outfitted to allow for easy access from above and a mixture of live and boxed cargo. Iron rings attached to the inside of the hull on both sides provide anchor points for manacles. Along the port side, iron cages have been bolted to the floorboards and hull. Barrels of potable water and crates filled with dried carnivore feed are packed into several sections of the hold. There are two doors toward the stern, smoke is seeping out of one of them around the cracks. Also on the port side is the cage which contains a surly squat, powerful, vaguely canine beast with foul-smelling fluids oozing from weeping sores across the scaly skin. Four slaves are chained to the starboard side’s iron rings. Three are Keleshite and Vudrani humans, respectively, the fourth is a gnome, whom the gnolls have (unsurprisingly) gagged.

Kaylee uses the keys found on the captain to unlock the slaves manacles. When Kaylee removes the gag from the gnome, she launches into a verbal explosion, "hithanksimapathfindermynameisrillawatchoutforthattrollhoundheisnasty
doyousmellsmokeareyouheretorecueusialwaysknewvalsinhadasoftspotforme."

After pausing for a moment to compose herself, she continues, "Say, any of you know a Pathfinder named Sahar? Sahar Hasna? She's amazing! I mean, you guys are amazing too, but Sahar? She on, like, a whole other level! Always talking to that damn fox of hers. She's a good Keleshite girl from the deserts of Qadira, always wears that cover over her face. Wha'd she call it? Nakib, nabib, niqab! She told me she fought a dragon under Absalom once, in the sewers!"

Rilla bounces around excitedly, "Anyway, she was part of my last assignment. We got separated, and I got...umm, well. here. I just wondered if any of you knew her, or ran into her at the Grand Lodge maybe. So, before I ended up on this tub I was in the Okeno slave markets on Stonespire Island. A few different times I was taken from the market to a warehouse and a heavily veiled humanoid woman, who definitely wasn't Sahar, was really mean to me. Two of those times she even cut me and collected the blood in a fancy looking bowl!"

Ragnar checks out the smoke coming from behind the door. He opens the door and it looks like the captain's cabin. It contains an uncomfortable bed, a desk, a small chest, and a brazier bolted to the floor. The brazier has a pretty big fire going in it, and has started to spread catching the bed on fire! There is paper ash and a few scraps of burnt paper fluttering around the room. Without intervention the fire will spread to the rest of the room and ultimately the ship pretty quickly!

Hrothgar takes a look at the caged beast, realizes it is a troll hound and figures it's probably best left where it is.

"Ooh, fire on a boat is bad news! Hey Hrothgar, can you, like, create water? I know some druid-y types can. If not, then we should get outta here as soon as we can, yeah?"

She turns to Rilla. "Super nice to meet you Rilla! I... don't think I've met Sahar, but she sounds SOOOO AWESOME! We should totally try to go find her after we get back to Absalom! Okay, so let's get the heck out of here! Ragnar, sweetie, that creature is a troll hound... it's probably gonna, like, attack us? If we let it out? So, we probably shouldn't?"

I see what you did there, Mark. I've inserted one of my seeker characters into a PFS game as fluff before... In fact, Kaylee's mentor is my seeker character, and she's got the special awesome boon from Eyes of the Ten to prove it. :)

Kaylee - :)

While Kaylee deals with freeing the slaves and makes small talk with Rilla, the rest of the Pathfinders spring into action taking some of the barrels of water and after a few tense moments putting out the growing flames. The captains cabin, however, is pretty much a ruin of burnt wood and water. There are bits of ash and paper fluttering around the room, Ragnar notices one bit as it spirals down toward the ground and plucks it out of the air. The tiny, charred bit of parchment bears a single word written in black ink: "Muhlia"

The harbor pilot, Zigil, dutifully navigates the ship through the Ship Graveyard safely to the docks, where city officials take custody of the vessel. Lady Darchana herself is present and authorizes payment of the bounty. She suggests that she will accompany you to the Grand Lodge so that information can be shared and reports given in a 'secure location.'

Everyone arrives in Skyreach at Venture-Captain Valsin's office, and despite the late hour he is there waiting. He stands as you enter, bowing to Lady Darchana. "My lady, you grace me with your presence again. I believe my team has satisfactory news to report to you." He gives a few of you a meaningful glance, as if to say you better.

Rilla cannot contain herself or be bothered with decorum, she rushes forward and hugs the Venture-Captain. "Venture-Captain Valsin, thank you, thank you, thank you! I am honored you sent these fine Pathfinders to rescue me! I always knew you cared!"

Venture-Captain Vilsin accepts the hug, but rolls his eyes at the gnome's exuberance. "Welcome back to the Grand Lodge Rilla" he manages. Looking at the rest of you he says, "Well? Report!"

Venture-Captain Valis nods his head as Kaylee and Hrothgar recount the day's adventure, it is the closest thing to pride you've ever seen on this man's face. Ragnar hands over the burnt scrap of paper. A look of shock and surprise comes over his face as he examines the paper.

"The captain it seems works for Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri" the Venture-Captain says, his voice devoid of emotion.

Lady Darchana arches an eyebrow and looks at Valsin. "It's worse than I feared. Guards to me!" she calls out into the hall and two powerfully built women dressed in scale mail enter and flank the Lady.

Turning back to the Pathfinders, "It seems this may become an all too often greeting for awhile." She begins casting a spell* and then glances around the room carefully.

DC 19 Spellcraft:

"Pathfinders, you have done a great service to Absalom today. The full extent, understandably, may never be widely known or recognized by the sleeping masses, but know that the Pathfinder Society can count on me as a friend and ally, and I hope that I may call upon you again in the future should the need arise." she says, satisfied with her magic.

Rilla recounts what she can to Venture-Captain Valsin about her time spent in the Okeno slave markets on Stonespire Island, confirming several interactions with a heavily veiled humanoid woman who forcibly took blood samples on two occasions. Finally Rilla asks, "What of Sahar? The others?"

Venture-Captain Valsin closes his eyes and slowly shakes his head. "No contact," is all he says on the matter.
