Seemingly without regard for what the others are up to, Gahlethea storms into the middle of the room.

"That's it, you people!"[/b] she shouts. ”What does a girl have to do around here to have someone help her remove a…*shudder*… tail?I?” the blonde witch says in huff. She stamps her foot down into one of the puddles on the floor, then tries to surreptitiously sidestep out of it upon realizing that she had splashed a series of fresh mud stains onto her gown.

”I asked, nicely… I asked if I could borrow something sharp … I even offered some morsels...” she folds arms together in a snit, then flings them wide as she shouts, ”Morsels! People! Morsels!” She glares at the others. ”But you were all tooooo busy doing that killey and stabbey and burney thing to this…this” She glances down at the dead lizard , trying to find the right words, ”this…this!” Satisfied that she has found the best word she could, she continues. ”Instead of helping poor, old, me with my …*shudder*… situation."

She slowly looks down at the tail-like protrusion dangling from the back of her dress. ”I have a ….*shudder*… tail.” she cries. ”I have ….*shudder*… fur.” she whines looking at the tufts of hair stuck to her clothing. She looks down at her hands. ”I even have a ….*shudder*… hand-like handey things.” she whimpers. ”If someone doesn’t do something soon, I might…” she closes her eyes and tightens her lips, as if contemplating a thought too horrific to say out loud. Yet, she continues to speak. ”I could… I may already have…a pair of…*shudder*...”

She slowly turns her head around with her eyes still closed, shakily attempting to take a glance what may be on her back, but cannot bring herself to do so.

Then, she stops and opens her eyes wide. "Wait a minute. Did someone just call Elphie... pretty" she asks with a growing smile. It's working! My project is working! I'm helping Elphie become popular!

"Well said, Sparks!" says Gahlethea. Why do they call him that anyways? With a new found pride in herself, she adds. "You're next! Er, I mean, what's next?" she asks aloud as she thinks, After all, if I can work my popularization techniques on Elphie, then I should be able to work them as easily on this student here! Now, how can I help him. Oh, yes, he did mention the ‘McGriffin’. He must be hungry. I forgot to offer him any morsels!

The "screaming birds" are common in my house. I have three kids. Youngest just turned 4 last weekend. His brother is 8 and his sister is 10. She is slowly becoming less of a "screaming" bird and more of a "singing/giggling/yelling/loud-talking/interrupting" bird. I love all three very much! However, it is not conducive to quiet. Also, I haven't run a home game since my first son was born. I haven't had a regular gaming group since just after my third was born.

Kids aren't the most conducive to regular gaming, but they did get me back in PFS, which brought led me to get into PbP, which brings me here, so there you go!

Who knows? In a few years, the kids may be my gaming group!

The sound of Sparks getting hit with javelins startles Gahlethea out of her scream. Suddenly, realizing what is happening, the witch-without-wings flies...*ahem*.. I mean to say... she storms swiftly into the next room!. However, she is stopped in her tracks just as quickly once she catches a whiff of the foul air.

Standing just barely inside the room, she yells. "You can't hit...um.. Sparkley, isn't it(?)... with sticks! He's my project!" And with that she utters words that seem to originate from deep within, drawing upon the very essence of who she is.

Great observation! It first made wonder if perhaps the man with the accent back as the tavern is an absentee landlord, who employed adventures to "evict" his old tenants so that he could make room for new ones. But then, I realized how much of a slum this tower really is... crumbling ceiling, standing water, vermin, etc... and it made me think that the the McGuffin must be the last pillar holding the place up or perhaps some fire-starting kit. It would appear that the party is just a group of pawns in some insurance scheme! "I had this great little apartment complex in the Cairnlands, it had a nice view of the bones and everything! Then, one day, these so-called adventurers showed up. They got past my watchdogs, pierced my web of security, shot a hole in my electrical generator...really messed up the place. What could I do? So, anyways, make the check out to... ah... me. Yeah, that's it. No don't write down that "ah" part, it was silent. Its Kellish."

Maria Kuerlara wrote:

Maria's eyes catch light of the banner and she recognizes it instantly. Going into a long rendition about the "Band of the Phoenix" and the history of their famous hunting lodge way back during the Age of Blades she prattles on for a while, regardless of anyone's interest.

When the items have been collected and/or used she will check the stairs for further dangers and then slowly work her way up.

Gahlethea has no wish to linger in this room. She scrunches up her face and says, "Eww! It is soooo smelley in here!"

Likewise, Gahlethea has little interest in the dusty, old, clearly-out-of-fashion banner. However, once Maria starts talking, the witch begins to listen very intently (okay, not really intently--not even sort of intently--but she does manage to pick out a few of the words. Once Maria finishes speaking, the blonde witch responds, "Oh, Elphie! I've heard of 'house hunting' and 'apartment hunting', but this 'lodge hunting' sounds even more grand! I didn't realize that you were so into buying properties and realer orchestrating and stuff like that! Teehee!"

The witch squeals in delight. "Once we finish this field trip... just where are those other students anyways?... we simply have to room together! Oh, yes! Let's buy a mansion together!"

"Dibbseys on roomsies with Elphie!" she yells out to the others before reaching out to give Maria a hug. "I called it first so, now, it is totally offishicable."

As the scimitar slashes down and deflects off her leather armor, Maria silently thanks her archery master who always used to advise, reflexes are great... but sometimes you just don't see an attack coming. There is no shame in armor. The only shame comes from death to stupidity.
