I hope nobody is waiting for Godot. Did you folks want to do anything else, or go directly to the Manor as was suggested by The Beast?

DM Ranginui |

It is, in fact, entirely up to your whims. I recommend going to the Manor House at some point, but here there are no railroads, only paths through the forest :)

Shapeshifters and imitators is why, though given the way the die roller is treating me, I doubt any lying will ever actually work, do ho ho.

Gah, stupid lack of ability to edit after an hour.
"The sound of their footsteps echoes off of the stone walls, and the low barking of a large dog answers the dog before it is silenced" was meant to be "...answers the noise before..."

Casting anything mid-conversation is a very gray area, through I always view it as a "What if some NPC was talking to you and started casting something?" kind of thing. Usually it results in initiative.

Detect Magic and spellcraft will get you that she's wearing "sleeves of many garments", all the rage for baronesses-cum-nursing mothers. Noble outfit and nursing apron all in one!

Sleeves of Many Garments: Very important for the Multi-faced Kitsune who realises that Alter Self (unlike Disguise Self) doesn't alter your gear. "Is that guy wearing a dress?"

Sorry for the abrupt reaction! Shandor isn't very patient, and in his experience speaking the blunt truth (added to his threatening ways) usually keep things moving.

DM Ranginui |

I think I need some sort of cheat sheet to all the various bluffs that have been forwarded.
-Followers of Pharasma
-Members of the Order of the Palantine Order (GM had to look that one up)
-Scholars
-Seers
-Pathfinders
Did I miss any?

The man outside was told we were Pharasmins, then didn't care, so I didn't talk to him anymore. He knows at least some of Ausk's name.
The butler was told we were Pathfinders, Palantines, Pharasmins, Mercenaries, and tools. He knows Guilford's name. He pretty much gave up and lets us in after we yelled at him enough.
The Nobles were told we're members of the Palantine Eye. She was given a false name for myself.
Kris has pretended to be a Seer the entire time for all ruses, for the sheer amusement factor. Everyone else want to be... ugh... honest.
I think that's it.

I like the Palantine Eye one, personally. Mysterious, allows for a more motley crew. Even though I LOVE parodying deictic faith as the "don't trust the gods" faith.
Besides, who'll believe a peasant or a butler? It's always the butler.

That Palatine Eye reference took me a while to come up with. Heck, I haven't even played Carrion Crown, where it gets introduced. I just remembered reading a thread a while back that talked about it. And it does give us a convenient excuse for being an odd assemblage without being Pathfinders (or Aspis, for that matter).

I missed it earlier due to sleeping, but I will indeed gladly accept one of the magical weapons. At this point, I haven't had enough pocket money to enchant anything. Sad state of things. Many thanks to the lady and the GM.

DM Ranginui |

Guilford K(planes) tells you that shadows are often associated with the shadow plane (duh!). Finding large numbers in the material plane is rare, but Nidal is known for ties to the shadow plane.
K(religion) for specific abilities.

No need to thank me. It's in the module :)

Knowledge Religion on Shadows
That is the best thing I've heard all year, given my build. Plus, modules are much longer than scenarios! Yay!

DM Ranginui |

May I ask where the brave adventurers intend to head next? It's about 4 in the afternoon.

DM Ranginui |

Oh, and shadow stuff:
When Guilford and Chuurock put their head together:
- CE Medium undead (incorporeal)
- some limited intelligence, and they can speak common.
- their touch drains strength; if someone is slain this way, a new shadow will arise from their corpse in 6 to 24 seconds
- somewhat resistant to channeling and command, due to their intelligence
- they are somewhat challenging to attack with touch weapons

"I defer to your excellent memory then..."
I'll note that from an OOC standpoint, that statement is horribly, horribly wrong at least 19 out of 20 times. PbP is much easier for me, honestly.

![]() |

It's ok, my memory is usually pretty good, so I haven't played around with the searching much. This module definitely has more going on than a lot of other games I've played in, so I'll probably have to use it a bit more!

I can't believe I watched the whole thing, haha.

That last bit doesn't sound PFS-legal to he honest...
-Posted with Wayfinder
Ack! Never mind. I thought you said "at half price." Carry on with rolls.

DM Ranginui |

Would Guilford be buying to scribe, or simply to have in his library? You can automake the spellcraft to scribe on a take 10, but of course it would take 1 hr/spell level.

DM Ranginui |

A scroll of daylight is both arcane and divine, although in this party there is a DC 6 caster level check for anybody not high enough level level to actually cast the spell - an auto success for the oracle, but not for anybody else.
