In tattoo form, the familiar looks like a stylized version of itself, but does not count as a creature separate from the tattooed sorcerer. In tattoo form it continues to grant its special familiar ability, but otherwise has no abilities and can take no actions except to transform from tattoo into creature. A familiar tattoo cannot be erased or dispelled.
Fearless (Ex) At 3rd level, you gain a +4 bonus on saving throws made against fear and a +1 natural armor bonus. At 9th level, you lose your light sensitivity, gain immunity to fear, and your natural armor bonus increases to +2.

Introduction:
A Varisian man in his early fifties, wrinkles starting to cover his bald head. He has a large rune tattoed on his forehead, one that Thassilonian experts may recognize as the Wrath rune. Many other tattoos, either written in Varisian or Thassilonian, cover his body, including the Sihedron rune on his chest. The man is often seen with his chest bare, a red varisian scarf around his waist and breeches covering his legs. A veil of bone and silk covers his lower jaw and nose, embroidered with ancient symbols and Thassilonian runes. He's leaning on a masterfully carved ebony staff.

He must obviously have some orcish blood in his veins, for the sorcerer's wrathful gaze often turns blood-red as he starts casting his Wrath magic, before turning into a real orc.

"I am Shandor, seeker of the relics of ancient Thassilon. Wrath is my sin, and I shan't be merciful." he says with a rasping voice.

Background:

Shandor Arvandru was born on 15 Rova 4662 from a Varisian girl named Elizbieta and a father called Arakh. The latter was one of the most prominent agents of the Sczarni in Magnimar, a man whose hatred came- or so it was said - from his orcish blood. He even bragged about having a mighty orc warlord as one of his ancestor, but said little more on the topic, leading many to believe him to lie. No one, however, dared tell him that in his face.

The newborn was exceedingly frail at his birth, and was a far cry from what his father was hoping for, a worthy descendant of his bloodline. In time, Arakh however saw that his first impression was wrong: Shandor proved to be a tough kid, able to resist anything his crazed father would throw at him. This fortitude proved to be anchored in the child's incredible wrath, which manifested when Arakh beat his wife, or his son. Violence and intimidation were the only languages both father and son understood, whereas Shandor's mother taught him to endure the many torments visited upon them.

Life in the Underbridge quarter was hard as well, in the shadow of the mighty Irespan. An unforgiving world where only Sczarni and vermin would prosper. Arakh's son soon became the leader of a band of kids who called their group "the gutter rats", and were trained by the Sczarni to perform many duties the organization itself wouldn't do. That band eventually became a recruitement tool for the varisian crime syndicate, Shandor operating as a coordinator between the band and the them. The young man also occasionally followed his father in his work, and spent his free time in a Magnimarian tattoo parlour held by a Varisian named Radovan. That man was very different from every single person Shandor knew, and became his mentor, teaching him his craft in time. The young Varisian proved to be a talented student, learning to create whereas he had always been so good at destroying other people's lives.

The mystery surrounding Shandor and Arakh's orcish origins died out the day Shandor discovered his arcane skills. One day, his father beat his mother much harder than usual, up to the point where Elizbieta died. Shandor witnessed the murder and his inner Beast awoke, lit by his wrath and nurtured by his orcish heritage. Raw magical energies tore Arakh apart, killing the brute instantly but also depriving Shandor of ever knowing the truth about his origins - or at least what his father knew. This moment was a turning point in the young man's life, almost a rite of passage.

Reborn of hatred and wrath, Shandor took refuge at Radovan's, where he could lay low and avoid the Sczarni's retaliation. The tattoo artist could also teach the young sorcerer further, allowing him to hone his skill both as a tattoo adept and as an arcane caster. It was also at that time that Shandor discovered Thassilon, and the might behind the runes of wrath. He later came to worship the runelord known as Alaznist
with great devotion, covering his body in tattooed marks of power, feeding on his purest hatred to channel his destructive might.Years later, the sorcerer is still known as "the Beast".

Eventually, the Sczarni found Shandor as he was delving in some Thassilonian ruins beneath Sandpoint. Instead of punishing Arakh's murderer, they rewarded him and asked him to work with a new purpose for them - infiltrate the Pathfinder Society. Seeing an opportunity to learn more about Thassilon or his origins, Shandor accepted, sealing his fate.
