Took a peek at your sheet, since you made it sound so inviting and noticed one thing real quick; Improved *whatever maneuver* adds +2 to CMB & CMD against that maneuver, doesn't it? I see you put the MW bonus in on the to-trip, though, so that's good.

I believe Wayfinder runs off of the RSS feeds, so technically RSS. Though I have become incredibly proficient with the mobile browser use of Paizo's website over the psst year, since I haven't had cable or a home internet service, so I chevk that sometimes (since multiple spoilers in one post don't really format well in Wayfinder.)

Flying creatures are immune to trip, actually. Under the description for the maneuver in the combat chapter.

Might want to edit your post there Baldwyn. Crying is coming through the door to the east. No child in here.

DM Ranginui |

Sorry, I realized I did an east/west switcheroo earlier. The door, and crying behind it, are both coming from the unexplored eastern reaches of the chandlery.

![]() |

Wayfinder on phone too, though I can't post with it sadly.

![]() |

Did the "not able to post" thing start after the big two-day server downage recently? Clearing my app data fixed that issue for me.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

No, I have never been able to do so. I regularly try again, but it never works. I always get an error message when attempting to post ("Sorry! Sudden closing of the Wayfinder application, etc."). The message is actually in the same language as my phone's OS (not English), so it might not be linked to the app itself but the phone.

![]() |

Yeah, if it's crashing with a phone error that's running a non-English alphabet, it's likely something with whatever alphabet/letterset it's using.

This group has the most bimodal initiative modifier distribution I have ever seen :). Half of you are at 6 or above, the two are at -1

DM Ranginui |

Well, among other things it has meant the combat has been over twice before Chuurock has had a chance to go ;)
I'm beta testing Wasteland 2 right now; they've an analagous issue with their initiative system, but in that game fast folk go twice in the time it takes for the slow to go once. The are promising to tweak it though.

![]() |

So do most of you folks use twitter or rss for campaign updates?
Neither. I turn my monitor on and check the fora. I can only do this while at home.
Well, among other things it has meant the combat has been over twice before Chuurock has had a chance to go ;)
For the record, Chuurock's NOT a combat-focused character, so him not getting a combat action (because everybody else has finished the opposition off already) means NOTHING to me!
Now, people jumping form one combat to another so fast that there are not any opportunities to try to heal and clear negative conditions off of everybody else . . .. THAT bothers me. That is what he's supposed to be doing.

An understandable frustration. I don't know what the standard is on PbP, but I'm willing to do a certain amount of retcon if you wish to do something like a lesser restoration (or the detect magic for Guilford on the items, although the items aren't relevant to the current situation.). Time asynchronicity is an understandable issue in this media.
However, when someone opens a door it certainly will set things in motion, so your group might want to establish some etiquette there.

![]() |

I didn't realize we had a means to restore or I would have waited. IC, hearing a child crying, Leastrie would have went as fast as possible to the source of the sound. Apologies to Chuurock. Everyone else seemed to be on this morning, so it seemed a good opportunity to advance the story, since this is a module.

![]() |

Sorry, when nothing happens, I tend to try to push it along. Heck, one of the last tables I was at, no one would post for days, so it seemed it was just the GM and myself. Thankfully, that was a very individual character who could handle damn near all that came up, but that is a rarity and should be avoided. We'll try to be more courteous.

DM Ranginui |

Kris is up; once he goes, Baldwyn, Guilford and Shandor can feel free to take their turns.

DM Ranginui |

I didn't say he cast the daylight on himself. He cast it in the room. I can put down a center, but at 60 foot radius it seems pointless.
EDIT: right, touch range. Skipped my mind. Editing so that he casts it on one of the adjacent vats.
So, not so pointless musings...

DM Ranginui |

Go ahead and open up the perception spoiler Guilford, and feel free to edit. Should have caveated "...and guilford, if he makes his fort save." Ilquis is in fact where Chuurock said.

DM Ranginui |

Shandor, did you want to try another spell? You can't target him with magic missile due to his invisibility (effectively greater invisibility). However, you know where he is - so either of these would work:
Color Spray (Will DC 15)
Burning Hands (CL 4, 4d4+4, Ref DC 17)

![]() |

I'll definitely use burning hands then. I just wasn't sure what square he was on, and was afraid of hurting my companions with AoE spells. Modifying my post, can you please move me where appropriate? Also, if need be (following Guilford's instructions) I may need to cast defensively. If so please roll it for me, my modifier is +7.

![]() |

Great!
As a side note, why not use babyshade to track the lurker? Can't undead smell life?

![]() |

Not universally. Undead mostly just get immunity to brain and nerve oriented things. Plus, IC, I fully think that making a thing made of shadow go into an area of pure light might dissipate him, and I believe that a live specimen for the Doctor/cleric may be the best gift ever.

DM Ranginui |

Nice job. Those were some nasty effects he was throwing around.
His poison was shadow essence (appropriately enough). Nasty!

![]() |

Before we retire for the night, could Baldwyn get a Lesser Restoration? That way we're not losing a resource for the day?
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Ranginui |

The groups reward from the townsfolk:
The equipment of the unfortunates who did not survive their encounter with Ilquis:
two sets of studded leather armor
a masterwork chain shirt
4 daggers
a masterwork short sword
a composite shortbow (+1 Strength bonus) and 15 arrows
potion of cure moderate wounds.

While we are in town, why not inform the backflip fetchling first?

Sometimes you try for bizarre and absurd, and you end up with farce instead :/

![]() |

Please don't take offense; my memory is so awful that I can only remember NPCs by notable things (especially in High Fantasy settings.) Heck, I went through a campaign renaming NPCs things like "Smokes Guy" and "Knife B-word" for minor actions or things I had heard. Partly because of memory issues, partly to be in character.
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Ranginui |

No offense taken. It's challenging to get fun but oddball character backstories into play - results may vary!

![]() |

We should rest for the night before confronting the Baron. Not too worried about the houndsman. Sad we have to deliver bad news to him, if I am correct in assuming his lover was the baker's wife who was found dead.
Further, I apologize for me being a space case as of late. Work, bad sleeping, and schoolwork are colliding right now. Should be better soonish =P

![]() |

I'd very much like to confront the Baron, after we've rested of course.

DM Ranginui |

Alright, sounds like the baron is winning the vote (is it a democracy?) I will set the scene then tomorrow.

DM Ranginui |

Alright, slight detour :)
Guilford, in regards to your graveyard question, reread this:
The Baron's Ramblings
