Floating in front of the various gargoyles Urko pays them almost no heed. He focuses himself inward, drawing deeply on his magical reserves. As he completes his spell, behind him Artemis grows to enormous proportions and unleashes an ear splitting growl. Then, many of the gargoyles in front of him are engulfed in screaming holy fire.
Urko draws on his beast-bond brand to defensively cast the axiomatic version of divine vessel on Artemis, he cannot fail the defensive cast DC. He then casts quickened flame strike on the gargoyles in front of him. It will hit blue, purple and orange of type A, orange and purple of type B and the green turret. He is not spell sharing the divine vessel so Artemis gets the full 16 round duration.
Flame Strike damage: 15d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 3, 6, 3, 5, 1, 4, 1, 5, 1, 5, 3, 1) = 47
The Reflex DC is 30
Just a note for the group, that was my last level 5 and level 8 spell slot for today.

With a roar Artemis unleashes herself against the red turret.

Just as a note to calls things out (although it is also in her tagline), Artemis now has SR28 and DR10/chaotic as well as various elemental resistances.

Will Nalshene: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Will Narshala: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Narshala howls in pain from the dark energy, and Nalshene isn't a fan of it either, even after Hugo's healing blast. In order to aid her allies, she casts an illusion behind the gargoyles, hoping to distract them.
Casting Quickened Tenebrous Threatening major image of a large, glowing hound archon behind the gargoyles. Will DC 25 to disbelieve. It will provide flanking to allies. I'm sticking it on the board as just a white block for now. Anyone that has time to replace it with a more appropriate image, feel free to do so.

Will vs Unholy Blight: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
If this passes, Agata takes 11 damage; if it fails she takes 23 damage and is sickened for 1d4 rounds.

Sweet Mawd |

Will vs Unholy Blight: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34
Assuming this passes, Sweet Mawd takes 17 damage (half of 34) and is not sickened. She is still making her way through her original 36 temp hp, so together with the 1 point she took earlier in this fight, she currently has 18 temp hp remaining.

As a column of fire strikes down the assembled gargoyles, burning one alive and making another collapse, Artemis attacks the remaining turret. Her teeth and claws dig through the thick glaucite, and soon, the turret is nothing but a sparking mess. Simultaneously, the turret to the other side of the gargoyles malfunctions, it's sensors cracked and it's circuits melted.
Whoops, didn't tag Marduk in bold. Marduk, you are up!

Let's just figure it out with a Perception Check.
Marduk Perception, DC 21: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Marduk begins his spell but pauses, realizing that the one casting the cure spell is a little too far. Meanwhile, the Gargoyles in the back direct their spiritual weapons to strike the prone Nalshene (whom I almost confused with Narshala. Again).
Spiritual Weapon, Blue Full vs Nalshene: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Spiritual Weapon, Red Full vs Nalshene: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The blades bite deep, and the gargoyles chuckle evilly, with one beginning to cast a spell. A critical mistake.
Reflex Blue B: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
Reflex Red B: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
The other gargoyle shouts at the other, and Sweet Maud takes note of the many colorful and exotic turns of phrase it uses to qualify it's friend as it casts a spell as well. One of the blind gargoyles on the front lines attempts to cast a spell.
Casting Defensively, DC 23: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Without being able to see what it's doing, the spell fizzles into nothingness.
Drop the Base vs Miranda: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28
The gargoyle with the metal arms puts it's arm down, and a strange tube of chrome and steel rises from behind its back where it had been concealed. There is a hum, and Miranda only has a split second to dodge out of the way before a palpable wave of sound shrieks past her, denting and shredding the solid wall behind her.
Fort Save vs Poison: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Casting Defensively, DC 23: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Poison continues to take it's toll, as another gargoyle attempts to cast a spell defensively and fails.

Artemis, Animal Companion |

Rofl, I don't think Artemis is quite immortal but she is very beefy when fully buffed.
Also, ROOOAAAAARRRRRR!!!!

![]() |

With her wounds, Agata decides to stay (hopefully!) out of harm's way and casts her eye towards Artemis and Nalshene, to grant them both good fortune. And then she begins to laugh, softly at first, and perhaps a bit louder, almost maniacally.
Using the Split Hex feat to use the Fortune hex on both Artemis and Nalshene. (Note that the wording of this hex is a bit misleading because it mentions a "reroll" - you have to decide if you are using it before you make the roll, so it is effectively a once/round roll 2d20 and take the better roll). Using Cackle to extend the fortune hex, so that its duration is 3 rounds; unless I extend it again with Cackle, it will expire just before Agata's turn on round 6.

Sweet Mawd |

Sweet Mawd rolls her eyes a bit at her mistress' crazed laughter and taps her once again with her wand.

Desna must be smiling upon them, for they all succeed, with even the blind one finding his prone companion to heal it. At the non-blind one's beckoning, one of the blind ones interposes itself between Miranda and itself.

Nalshene steps back from the spiritual weapons that are harrying her and drops an area of greater dispel magic to target all four of them.

Urko floats backwards a step and turns to Artemis. He lets a whisper of power float towards her and around her feet the floor seems to open up. In a flash she vanishes and reappears in front of the remaining gargoyles and begins to tear into them.
Urko uses the Heavens Leap hex on Artemis allowing him to teleport her up to 30'. She is sadly too large to charge through the door, or to charge from anywhere can place her but at least she will get a full attack.
He casts a look back to the entry hall, How are you all doing back there, do you need some help?

Having realized that the figure behind them is an illusion, the remaining seeing gargoyle takes flight, retreating away from the melee developing in the hall.
Meanwhile, one of the remaining gargoyles attempts to attack the loud newcomer!

... Sure. The gunslinger can't shoot his guns to save his life. That's fine.
The shot again misses her by inches. With a howl of frustration, it retreats out of sight.
Sorry for the delay, the next few weeks promise to be tawdry on my end.

Artemis, Animal Companion |

Narshala is adjacent to Artemis so she will bodyguard against all of those attacks, that uses up all six of her opportunity attacks and gives Narshala +7AC against each. I made the rolls in my previous post and didn't roll any 1's. I think all of the attacks missed but she would use Bodyguard in any event.
RAAAAAARGH!

![]() |

I'm a little confused about what's happened with Narshala - it seemed like she failed her save vs Greater Command, which would have caused her to flee before ever getting turned into Dragon form, which would leave Nalshene with her standard action still and would also have meant that the blind gargoyle would have attacked another target... Please disregard if this is too much retconning or if I've missed something.
Regardless...Agata continues to stay out of harm's way while Sweet Mawd ministers to her wounds. She once again uses the Split Hex feat to use the Fortune hex on two people, this time Marduk and herself, and continues to cackle to extend the duration of all the Fortunate Pathfinders.
Nalshene, Artemis, Marduk, and Agata are all now affected by the Fortune hex until just before Agata's turn on round 7. This allows you to roll twice and take the better result, once per round, on any ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. You must declare it before making the first roll.

Sweet Mawd |

Sweet Mawd uses her wand to continue to heal Agata.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11

I thought so too, but Narshala forgot to include a +4 from devotion to her roll.

But the Rose of Taldor manages to parry it all!

"You missed," the Rose helpfully informs her blind opponent. She counters with her own whirl of adamantine, focused on the orange-hued gargoyle and planning on stepping atop its corpse as soon as she manages to reduce it to rubble.
If I manage to drop orange I'll move in to its square and put any further attacks at purple (with the resulting flank).

With Agata's good fortune on her side and a good bit of healing having been applied to her, Nalshene decides to help finish off the enemies. She shrinks back down to pixie size and flies into the room, tossing out a spell before hiding behind Narshala until she's ready to attack.
Moving in, then casting Quickened Tenebrous burst of radiance targeting the two gargoyles. Assuming they're evil, damage: 5d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3, 2) = 13. They get a DC24 Reflex save, if they make it, they're dazzled for rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 4, otherwise they're blinded for the same length of time.
