BOTTING CACUMATTUS
It was time to finish off Green.
Crossbow, PBS, Bless, vs Prone & in Melee: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 - 4 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
BOTTING BALON
Balon, suddenly realizing the pickle that he is in with an uninjured and still standing sloth, narrows his eyes and focuses. This thing is going DOWN.
Scythe: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 31
Crit!?: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 24

Then Balon's Bot belatedly remembers his attack of opportunity on Red.
Scythe: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Damage, Lead Blades: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18

GM Hmm |

Cacumattus kills Green. Red takes 18 damage from on hit of Balon's, and the Sloth takes 52 points of damage but is still (barely) standing.
Unless I missed a damage bonus from Lead Blades?
Sloth Claw, Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Sloth Claw, Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
One claw misses, the other rakes Balon again!
Blue stands up. This will provoke an attack of opportunity from Ely.
Red, having seen what Balon did to the sloth and himself, decides to take his chances charging Ely.
Does this provoke from Balon?
Great Club on Ely, Charge: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21

I believe it does provoke, yes, as long as it moved 10 feet or more. Let's hope i can be as successful as the Bot Buddy was!
AOO,lead blades,flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Unfortunately, Balon had surprised himself so much with the critical hit that he fumbles on the follow-through.

GM Hmm |

Yes, that was a miss on Red.
EDIT: You hit because it charged, and you're blessed!
Don't forget your regular action. Kill the sloth!
Balon in his AoO does another 15 damage to Red.

Reesa uses her wand of tiny damage.

GM Hmm |

None of these guys are smitable, but your eagles hit the sloth twice and bring it down!
It had only a couple hit points left after Balon's scythe attack!
Reesa then uses her wand of tiny damage on Red, who is still up.
ORDER: Cacumattus, Balon, Reesa (pew pew), Reesa's Eagles (claw+bite), Sparkle-Weave, Poundy, Daeris, Ely, Kreighton, Gad, Red (-35), Green (dead), Blue (stand up, -26), Sloth (dead), Guen, Orin

Blue stands up. This will provoke an attack of opportunity from Ely.
Unfortunately, the humanoids are close enough that I can't hit them with my reach weapon.
"Ow!" Ely says as the greatclub smashes into her. With the prehistoric humans crowding around her, she can't finagle her guisarme to hit them; she drops her weapon by her side and draws her gladius instead. Towering over the (red) human that hit her, she brings her leg around and tries to sweep their legs.

GM Hmm |

-- COMBAT OVER --
Gad looks at Ely. "If this is what it means to be a god, I don't want to be one. Not of cave people, or sloths or bitey things." He takes her hands, and says, "I'm just going to let this go and be mortal again, okay?"
His head tilts back, and a swirl of glowing green energy escapes his mouth, leaving behind a very tired and ordinary looking middle-aged man.
ANOTHER ANCHOR SUCCESS!
Gad starts to come to himself, looking up at the sky, and then lat the nearest green person in the distance, a woman with an arrogant expression on her face and burns all over her body. Then he looks back at you, anxiously. "You're collecting anchors, aren't you? To try to bring us home? Please be careful with Ormandi. She's had a rough path leading here."

![]() |

"Where did she get all those burns? Did the strange magical essence do that to her, or did she have the burns before all this happened?" Reesa was pondering if maybe the green magic was assuaging the woman's pain, and maybe not much would be hurt if they left the magic in her, depending on Gad's answer.

GM Hmm |

Gad bites his lip. "She lost both her parents in the kitchen fire that gave her those burns. Like all of us, she joined the Harbingers to find meaning and maybe a fresh start."

![]() |

Pathfinders have found and uncovered the Sky Key Vault. It is there that the Sky Key—the Society’s ticket home—awaits. However, the dome of green energy remains strong, suggesting that too many Harbinger spellcasters are still anchoring the Society in this time period.
GMs, it is now possible to gain Vault successes. Map is also updated.

![]() |

Cacumattus nods to Gad. "I can understand the desire for a fresh start. This, though - this is more like an end than a start." Turning to his companions, he continues, "So, kid gloves on, and let's chat to this Ormandi and get this barrier down so we can go home."

GM Hmm |

“Alright, Aroden! You can show up anytime now! We won! We’ve set it all back, just like you wanted! We’re restoring fate, and getting rid of all the bad luck!” The woman that Gad identified as Ormandi, is waving around a bottle of Sauerton Red* and shouting at the meteor in the sky. Closer up, you can see the horrific nature of the burns that cover her arms, go up her neck and cover part of her cheek. “Absalom, set back to the way it’s supposed to be! The big FRICKIN’ EARTHFALL is coming, you divine twit! SHOW THE HELLS UP!”
She sways back and forth as she takes a swig of her bottle. “Can you believe this,” she asks you conversationally. “End of the world, and what did Lady Arodeth pack for us to drink? We could have been drinking a fine Galtan Montblanche, but nooo... She packed us this... this...” She screws up her face as she tastes the wine. “...this fish piss. So... Who the hells are you?”

Daeris seems more than a little exasperated over all these idiotic cultists and the undignified pandering going on to set them straight.
"What in the hells are they teaching you in your ridiculous little Aroden cult? He doesn't show up at Earthfall, you fool! He doesn't raise the Starstone from the bottom of the sea for over 5,000 years! This is the event that led to a thousand years of darkness. If we don't get out of here, we're all going to DIE!"

Sense Motive, social grace: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 4 = 31
Giving the woman some distance, Ely shoots a sideways glance at Daeris but can't deny the...efficiency of her approach. "Apologies for my associate's bluntness, but we're the people trying to stop this whole doomsday scenario. Ormandi, was it? My name is Ely. Listen," she starts, keeping her tone cordial despite the huge rock hurtling toward them, "I know you all have been working very hard to set all of this up, but my colleague Daeris is right: this may not even be the right time. We've already convinced the other ones of you to give up their anchors' power. If anything, it's going to take a while to set those back up, and we don't have much time." Ely gives a soft smirk. "I'm sure you'll have your day, but I don't think an apocalypse on mankind is really Aroden's cup of tea. Give up your anchor's power, regroup, and look for another time. I'll even buy you a nice bottle of wine."
Diplomacy, social grace: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 4 = 21

GM Hmm |

Ormandi wavers. “A bottle of wine would be nice. And you all seem like nice people... I’m so sorry that you got pulled into this, with us. I don’t think you deserve this at all. I don’t mind the idea much of me dying. The way I see it, resetting fate has to have a cost. And if I reset fate back here... maybe the fire that took everyone that I loved and left me an ugly, burned up horror... Maybe it won’t happen.” She closes her eyes. “I hear their screams, still. My dad got me out of the fire, but he ran back for Mom. They died, and I survived, and for what?”
She wades into the fountain, still swaying, not caring about the water now soaking her pants and shoes, and stares morosely at her glowing green reflection. “Aroden, give me a sign! Please! I came all this way just to talk to you!”
As she calls out to the sky, an arc of green lightning gathers above and crashes to the surface, leaving something bizarre in its wake. Burnt pieces of flesh still cling to the charred bones of this walking horror. A pale light and thin wisps of smoke issue from cracks in its body, as if an inferno hides within, barely contained by the scraps of melted armor and gear fused to its flesh. Two burning orbs peer out from where its eyes should be, and a trail of smoke rises up from its skull. The thing reaches out with gnarled and twisted claws that glow with intense heat. Next to this flaming horror, two skeletons stand, each wielding a longsword.
“FIRE!” Ormandi takes a step back, trembling with terror. “Is this my sign? Prove my worthiness by embracing this flame and protecting my mom and dad?” She steps out of the fountain and starts to walk towards the undead horrors.

THanks for the good botting, botbuddy! Three charges of infernal healing gets Balon almost to full health. I've marked off a point from my Necromancy pool for the skeleton raise. I do wish I could raise something more exciting than a single human skeleton, but I'll get there eventually.

Ely catches on quickly, chiming in, "Yes, mighty Romnus, our dragon lord Orin speaks the truth. We all know our place as his servants, and in our respect for dragonkind we have brought you a gift. Cacumattus, isn't that right?" she asks, gesturing toward the bottle of Sauerton Red. "Please, accept this fine wine as tribute and an assurance of your generous benevolence."

Reesa follows suit with the others. "Orin is a mighty ruler, that's true, but he's also just and kind. If you are a true dragon, you should emulate him. You heard his mighty roar. If you ask nicely, he might even take you on as an apprentice."

Romnus huddles himself protectively over his hoard, but he scuttles out to snatch the bottle of horrid wine from Cacumattus and sticks it into his hoard. Then he pulls it out and sniffs it and makes a face. "This isn't a very valuable gift. Are you a POOR dragon?"
"I don't want to apprentice to a POOR dragon! I won't give up my hoard. It's mine! Mine!" Then he looks wistfully down. "It would be nice to have some help guarding it, though... How did he get all of you to serve him?"
Okay... You're halfway there! Time to follow up with your next skill!

"Well, Lord Orin is certainly not poor in his natural qualities," Ely responds. "His power and magnanimous mien are obvious, without having to rely on ostentatiousness or showy boasts. Although you are clearly worthy of worship, Lord Romnus, that green glow of power may turn away potential servants who are either intimidated or unsure. Surely a true dragon has powerful enough innate magic that this strange green glow is--and please forgive me for my impetuousness, but--perhaps a bit gaudy."
