Cacumattus whispers some arcane syllables and once again sparks begin to crackle around his hand. Ducking around behind the pillar, he approaches the giant snake from the side and attempts to discharge the spell on its scaly flank.

Balon strikes the Emperor Cobra with his scythe, as the snake rears back its head.

Daeris's arrow strikes an image of the priest, which disappears as the projectile passes through to hit the wall.

Cacumattus casts and tries to tag the snake. The snake snaps its fangs as the gnome approaches, and bites the gnome on the arm. Cacumattus recoils and can't deliver the spell.

Reesa's lone eagle seems too frightened of the serpentfolk to land a hit, but her magic missile strikes the cobra between the eyes, and it seems to sway as if stunned by the bolt.

The olive-colored serpentfolk hisses his displeasure at the feathered distraction in front of it, and strikes it down with its dagger and a bite. The eagle disappears in a burst of light.

The Salty Kraken shouts in pain as the cobra punctures her side, and continues to do so when the serpentfolk sinks a dagger into her as well. Bloodied but still standing, she unleashes a string of filthy curses as she continues to cut into the cobra.

Snapping his hand back from the cobra's bite, Cacumattus watches as the creature is defeated, before reloading his crossbow, taking a 5' step towards the olive serpentfolk, and firing at it.

Reesa gets two turns because I skipped her to do Serpentfolk stabbiness. Guen gets her normal action plus an attack of opportunity.

Sparkle-Weave's Pugwampi goes poof as a small earth elemental shows up instead behind the olive serpent, ready to smash down upon the olive serpent.

Meanwhile Sparkle-Weave will once again ready her crossbow for any tricksy spellcasting.

Sparkle Weave will go back to readying the crossbow in case any of the enemies use more magic.

Daeris beams with pride as the little leopard correctly identifies the real priest and brings him down. "Good, Guen! Beautifully done!" She crows her praise and flings down her bow as she advances on the serpentfolk with murder in her eyes. She draws her blade in a lightning flash of gleaming metal and strikes.

Guen bites at the snake-man as it stands back up, but in her efforts to avoid it's dagger strike, her aim is poor.

But with her mistress by her side, she attacks with more confidence, slashing with both claws before chomping down and shaking with her teeth.

If Olive is down by Guen's turn as I suspect, she will be redirected to attack black and it would just be the bite and trip used. Drew an arrow to show her movement, if that's the case.

Sparkle's elemental smashes Olive! Orin advises Balon and Ely. Daeris wipes Olive off the map! Guen attacks Black and manages to remove 2 images and with her her bite...

Ragged with serpent-inflicted wounds, The Salty Kraken still has enough energy to jump back from the dagger-wielding serpentfolk. With what energy she has left, she decides to save her quips for when she's not on death's door and instead takes some swipes at the legs of the creature and its illusory twin.

Orin comes skittering off the wall and into range for hopefully his victory bite.

Reesa was getting frustrated that the serpent east would not fall. She gritted her teeth and kept firing.

LOL... Of course the Bot Buddy rolls better than I ever could. :-P

Cacumattus tries his shocking grasp trick again, this time remembering to also activate his daredevil boots before skipping around to to opposite side of the enemy from Balon to deliver his spell.

He's too focused on avoiding the attack, though - the living embodiment of once bitten, twice shy - and only swipes at the air in front of him.

Perhaps noticing for the first time how weak the colorful human is looking, Daeris moves in front of her over to the other priest and strikes with her curve blade.

With a prime target prone before her, Guen continues to press the attack with feline vigor.

Reesa looks around the temple , trying to come down from the emotion of the just ended battle. She knew she'd never have an opportunity to see something this historical live and in person again. "Look at the detail in these carvings!"

"Ha!" The Salty Kraken shouts in victory as the last snake falls. Wincing from her snake bite, though, she braces herself by leaning on her weapon's haft and lowers herself to the ground. "I'm just going to take a quick rest, but I'll be right up..." she mumbles as she lies on her back and fumbles for her healing wand.

"Huh. Neat ceiling."

Perception aid another: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Sparkle-Weave once again helpfully points out all the sparkles.

"SPARKLES!"

Orin however can't fail to aid.

Daeris cleans her blade on the priest's robes while Guen licks and cleans her claws. She calls the leopard over and strokes her sleek fur, cooing her praise. "You did very well, little one." Guen purrs happily and leans into the petting before she begins playfully batting the snake's tail about.

Daeris turns her attention to observing the interior of the temple.

"More heating devices... This need for constant heat seems like a weakness that could be turned against them. An advantage warm-blooded creatures could exploit."

Chaotically twisting tunnels and chambers shoot throughout the temple's interior, some ending abruptly and others opening into smoke-choked studies, scriptoria, and meditation chambers. Countless alcoves are cut into the walls—almost entirely hidden within the elaborate mosaics. A single clay tablet inscribed with pictograms lies on a nearby table. It appears to be only part of a much larger set.

The tablet is part of a Ydersian holy text left out by a careless acolyte, though it is only a small portion of a much larger work. Pathfinders and other people from their time know little about Ydersius and his faith prior to the serpent god's decapitation. Serpentfolk architecture and decor favors the clever and observant, and the villains rarely leave precious things in plain sight. As a result, most of the other tablets depicting Ydersius's legends, history, and religious rites may be tucked into easily overlooked compartments throughout the temple.

You set off to search....

Cacumattus spots a second tablet, and goes to examine it. As he reaches for it, however, he feels a warning tingle in his fingers. Looking closer he sees a slight telltale haze indicating a spell trap. "Careful!" he warns his compatriots, "there's a trap on this tablet, check any others you find carefully. I guess these serpentfolk like to keep their knowledge to the church and not share it with the riffraff."

He attempts to bypass the trap trigger, but the bite he took is still bothering him...

The Salty Kraken almost has her hands on one of the tablets, ready to yank it off the wall when Cacumattus calls out a warning. She grimaces and quickly yanks her hands back like a child caught stealing cookies. "Good find!" she responds, cautiously moving back from the trapped stone. "Think you can tinker one of these things off the wall?"

Sparkle-Weave freezes, her swift gnomish hands already reaching for vaguely tablet like objects.
