Vim drops his morningstar and moves towards Chak while drawing a wand. Possible AoO from movement. He then tries to save the tengu's life.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

AoO on Vim: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Vim darts between the lashing tails, delivering a healing touch to the unconscious tengu.
Grapple on Chak: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (4) + 35 = 39
Tail on Spengler: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Constrict on Chak: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Unfortunately, Chak Chak does not awake, and the coils continue to crush his limp form. Spengler and Rogar avoid a similar fate, for now.

Let's try this
Noticing how badly things are going Rogar tries to have the serpent focus on him:"Hey big worm! I'm getting for myself those disks you tried to collect and you know what's funny? You can't do anything about it! AH!" he shouts then quickly moves towards the disks.
"GOT THEM!"
Double move. I'm not going to march out of the room with these and big ugly slapping his tail at me. I'll just throw them out the crack in the wall and you recover them from the other side. Then I join the battle with the serpent. He doesn't know that though

Grandmaster TOZ |

Chak Chak Stabilization: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Tail on Rogar: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
A bloody cough escapes the tengu's beak, before silence reigns. Rogar escapes the reach of the monsters tails, standing over the glowing discs.

How is the serpent doing 2 AoO against the same character? Even if it had Combat Reflexes he would need 2 different opportunities (that provoke) in order to attack twice the same character. Does Spengler taking the stone disk and then moving constitute 2 different opportunities? Also is Spengler's AC 24 or 26 due to PfE?

![]() |

Is there a way for me to enter the inner sanctum and help Rogar with the disks?
There's no need: I will throw them out the way they were sent in so you can retrieve them by the outside. I'm going to shout about it when my turn comes

Vim drops his wand and readies himself to catch the disks.
Can't doing much until Rogar has acted, then.

Rogar throws the two disks out of the room thanks to the crack in the wall:"The disks are on the other side of the wall! Get them quickly!!!" he shouts as he prepares to once again brave the creatures fury...
What kind of action is throwing the disks out of the room? If it's a full round action Rogar does that, otherwise he assumes a defensive stance and readies to get back into the room (fighting defensively means AC30 for Rogar against the snake... don't roll 20 pls... XD. Also, it might be a good idea to get out of the room and grab the disks. If I manage to get out as well I can try to do something with them)

Grandmaster TOZ |

I'll rule it as manipulating an item as a move action. Since it's the same action to pick up an item, and free to drop, I'd say sliding it through the hole shouldn't cost much else. So a move action per disc. Assuming you don't have to drop anything to free up a hand, you'll be able to move next turn.

Yup, I'm screwed...

Grandmaster TOZ |

Vim does not heed Slitherbane's command and the world fades from sight as the coils crush tighter. My powers are expended, mage. Spengler hears in his mind. Seal this evil away, or flee and save your life in cowardice.

![]() |

What do you suggest? Try to run away? Or stay and try to "seal" the serpent away? Rogar is hard to hit but given the number of attacks the enemy has a 20 is going to happen sooner or later I fear

![]() |

Spengler looks at his friends, falling before the serpentine menace. He glances at the thing and ponders briefly how he would explain himself to the Decemvirate if he fled.
"Rogar, let's show this prehistoric b!tch how we do things in Absalom."
Which door has the slots for the coins on it? Can you indicate on the map?

Grandmaster TOZ |

You should be able to see the four panels on the northern wall of the room.
The walls of this large, vaulted room are carved with stylized astronomical symbols. The south wall contains a pair of immense doors made of stone. Smaller doors on the east wall have been battered inward. The north wall contains four large panels, each eight feet above the ground with a central gap about seven inches wide and an inch deep.
Above the four panels are blocky letters, and below them, mosaics featuring sway-backed cyclopes. The chamber’s floor displays a stylized depiction of Golarion and its moon traveling around the sun. More immediately interesting is the massive monolith before the southern doors, the source of the racket. Tirelessly, it raises its fists to slam them against the doors, thin cracks spreading slowly over the stone surfaces and archways. The construct is worn and tarnished, but this in no way diminishes the awesome force of its blows.
On the north side, the murals are different than those in the hall. The first shows a large doorway, open, and three snakes or maybe tentacles slithering out. In the second, four cyclopes place round discs in the wall. The third and final mosaic shows beams emanating from the discs, pushing the snakes back as the doors close.
Spengler was able to translate the text as "The MOON set within the VOID reflects the SUN but does not obscure the STARS"

Grandmaster TOZ |

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Spengler rushes down the hall, causing Arletta to squawk "Don't leave me with that thing!" before chasing after. Rogar sees the lashing tails savagely attack the monolith, the fury vented sending shudders through the constructs body.

Standard action for fight on the defensive, move action to move forward, AC30, finger crossed

Grandmaster TOZ |

The onslaught begins as Rogar rushes in, in time to see Vim crushed within the monsters grasp. Distracted from its efforts to break free, the warrior manages to duck and dodge the heavy blows, deflecting as best he can with his shield. Spengler continues to rush to the crack in the wall where the discs lay. Arletta pauses at the junction of the halls, looking towards the outside.

"A serpent... why had it to be a FREAKING HUGE SERPENT?!?!?"

"SHEEESH!" Rogar takes a deep breath and wipes away the pearls of sweat that had formed on his brow as he reaches the corridor's relative safety. Then he turns towards the titanic struggle unfolding in the room...

Grandmaster TOZ |

For a moment, Arletta looks ready to argue, but then she rushes over to take the offered disk. Spengler reaches down, and where the disc was immovable before, he finds it as easy to lift as the first.
On the other side of the wall, the fiend lashes out at Rogar, but its tails fall short. Hissing in fury, it resumes thrashing against the monolith with renewed vigor.

And by the way... do we have an idea on how to use these disks? I get we need to put them inside those slots on the wall but what goes where?"
Then he mumbles:"The MOON set within the VOID reflects the SUN but does not obscure the STARS... the disk that blinded me should be the void but which ones are the other ones?"

Grandmaster TOZ |

Spengler and Arletta take a few rounds to get back to the chamber of horror, bearing the magic discs.

Spengler nods at Rogar, then takes the White Circle disc. "This one is the Moon, I think." He places it in the first spot.
The purple one he holds up to the last spot for the Stars. "I think this is the stars, which means that last one is the Sun. I think."
He puts them in the places he indicated or helps Rogar do the same!

Before entering I find it wise to use 2 or 3 charges of my wand of CLW on Spengler. He'll need to cast it on himself though (unless Arletta can do it). If possible I'd also spend another charge of PfE on all 3 the pathfinders (Arletta included), again if Spengler can use the wand
"Stay close to the wall, don't look at the slithering bastard and keep cool. We can do this..." Says Rogar re-entering the room, shield raised high while carying the black disk to the void's slot then putting it inside it.
Fighting defensively, if PfE is active Rogar has AC 30, otherwise AC is 28, Rogar keeps as close to the wall as possible in order to avoid AoOs

Grandmaster TOZ |

Arletta shakes her head. "I studied magical effects, not how to make them." Her gaze slips to the massive titans and quickly away. "How do you not go crazy around things like that?" The tremor of fear reverberates in her voice.
As Rogar and Spengler cautiously hug the wall, the massive tails whip through the air a few feet from them. The burning eyes of the multi-headed serpent glare balefully at the Pathfinders.
Roger finds the panels just out of reach to place the discs. Working together, you think that one could work while the other supports.

Grandmaster TOZ |

As the Pathfinders place the fourth and final disc, the seam between disc and panel disappears. The four panels form a single complete whole, and a wave of mystical force washes outward, through the walls and likely covering the entirety of the complex.
The fiend is pushed inexorably forward by the tide of magic, until both it and the monolith are within the chamber together. The shattered doors begin to reform, as Rogar and Spengler can see the monolith raise its fists in a fighting stance, before sight of both creatures is blocked by the restored vault doors.
It is done. Slitherbane pronounces to all who remain.
