Thorgrim shouts "I shall free you through the death of this beast!"

Piston Maul: 1d20 ⇒ 8

However, Thorgrim's eviscerated muscles leave a little to be desired in the follow-through.

Kawrock adds his blade to the fight as well.

Oloch and Thorgrim struggle against the mi-go, but with the strength literally ripped from their arms the fight goes poorly for them.

Chittering and buzzing, the creature begins pulling at the Warpriest to expose more tender areas for evisceration, but Barley and Kawrock prove the fight isn't over with the sharp edges of their eastern weapons.

Ali's spell, added to Oloch's holy fervor, heals most of the damage suffered at the mi-go's pincers, but its own injuries continue to mount. Releasing Oloch it takes to flight with an angry buzzing of its wings and attempts to flee!

Rufus Aid Oloch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Oloch takes a swing at the mi-go as it tries to fly away.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 1 - 2 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 7 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 + 3 - 3 = 9

The mi-go takes a couple more blows as it buzzes overhead, but survives the attacks and flees the area. It moves fast, and none in the group has any hope of catching it. Following the trail of blood-like sap dripping from its wounds, it becomes clear that your prowess has forced it to flee the Enigma Vaults by route of the excavated tunnel in the northeast chamber.

Back in the mi-go's dissection room, several large sacks contain strange jewelry, unusual sculptures, a few magical items seemingly plundered from the vaults, and extensive notes strewn about the bloody workbench, though they are written in strange alien script.

With one last look around the Vaults you find a set of stairs leading down into another level of the ruins with a plaque upon a set of doors labeling it "The Menagerie".

When you return to town to report to the Venture-captains, Aram Zey is quickly able to translate the mi-go's notes with a spell. Revealed in them are the recent activities and future plotting of the alien creature. It turns out that it was held in magical stasis in the vaults until recently released by Iklavni and her tomb robbers. Once free, it for captured them and performed "surgeries" on Iklavni and her band of tomb robbers, making them its servants and learning much of the modern world. The notes also detail its suspicions that the four cages in the alcoves of the work room are deactivated portals that it hoped to use to establish a gate to its home world and bring the “glories of the Black Goat to this Golarion."

Congratulations, you've completed the Enigma Vaults! I'll get this reported and send out chronicles in the next day or two. Thanks everyone!

"Fantastically cinematic!" Ali shouts as the alien falls to the party's blows. He stows his wands back up his sleeves and puts his hands on his hips in an accomplished manner. "Yes, this was all quite a fine show, wasn't it? Climactic!"

Ali only vaguely understands Aram Zey's interpretations of the notes. Thinking only of his own marketing and assuming that the referenced entity is a direct competition to his sideshow, Ali exclaims, "The Black Goat? Surely the Black Goat doesn't presume to compete with The Amazing Ali Khalid Mustafa Ansari ibn Adeeb, the Greatest Magician in Qadira?! Why, I doubt he's even a member of the Inner Sea Magician's Guild! Amateur!"

Oloch's breathing is labored as the strange creature flies off. He wearily heats his greatsword onto his shoulder and rubs his forehead. He turns to Thorgrim, "Come, my door-busting brother. Let us return to the nearby village and raise a pint, or ten - a good stout is the best medicine!"

He then turns to the rest. "Sorry - I did not mean to exclude. Let us all imbibe freely 'till the dregs are drained!"
