"That silver bracer too. You will take nothing from this land. Then there will be no need for cuts and bruises." The leader knows what you found with eerie accuracy, they must have had scouts spying on you as you dug.

"One of our girls is being targeted by assassins, and we need to find gold to pay them off. Would you consider giving us something of value in exchange for all this? We don't care about any of this, and we apologize if these are your hunting grounds. But we do need to pay off those assassins. I'm not willing to offend your people to do that though, and I'd rather have you as a friend than have blood money in my hands that will end up in the hands of cowardly assassins. Keep all of it I say. These are your lands. If you have advice to help us with our situation, and if your chief would sit with us and give us his wisdom, we would be honored. I am a shaman of the Green, and can help your people interpret visions and provide augury for the days ahead."

I can kind of see where you're coming from with the knowledge checks thing Mohag.
knowledge.engineering on bracer, diverse training (student of scrolls): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Lucky after all!
Janus recounts his learning before the Pathfinders move off (and before the encounter with the Kellids.)
"We did read a Numerian scroll. This bracer is a protective device that reduces the power if incoming attacks against the wearer. It has limited power, but is very valuable. It could save the wearer's life."
Later, with the Kellids....
"Listen to the wisdom of the Green-Keeper. She makes you a most generous and unique offer. You would do well to accept it, rather than try to rob us of our gold. We would work out a trade with your leader. If you refuse..." Janus takes his dire flail in hand.

![]() |

Mohag isn't fond of the raiding behavior of his own people, and he isn't fond of it coming from Kellids.
He reacts as an Ulfen would be expected to when confronted with muggers.
"Don't bother begging, Vina. They only respect strength.
This isn't yours, Kellid. Did you forge the star-metal? No. Did you dig up what we so easily found? No. You waited for us to do it and now try to steal it. We hold it, so we own it.
I will not back down and I will not beg. Leave us in peace while you still can."
Who is wearing the bracer?

![]() |

Readying an arrow Herman speaks in a cold flat voice, loud but devoid of emotion.
"If this was yours you would have had it before now. Best change your tone and your stance. Talk of 'cuts' and 'bruises' again you will find a few new holes in the one thing you do own, your skin."

Jumping down from the top of the egg as the hatch is pried open, Ayla grins. "See? Egg Hatch! Good thing Ayla know about egg!" Looking over the Shiny Discs, and the metal bracer, she furrows her brow. "Ayla never see egg with Metal inside. Metal egg strange!"
Walking down the hill, Ayla's tail flicks happily back and forth. Upon seeing the path blocked, her mood quickly changes.
"Kellids Tough! Ayla Tough Too! Ayla give Apple? Ayla give Punches? Ayla no give shiny stone."
If nobody wants the bracer, Ayla might have tried it on to see how it looks? Otherwise, I'm not too worried about who has it.

The kellid rage belows a wordless battle cry and charges in with a reckless offence. She takes Ayla's punch and only grunts as ribs crack. Bringing her greatsword around in two hands she tries to put Ayla down, but misses as Alya dodges the blow by a hair's width.
