Muirdarcaien Daoilfghiaen |
Actually. A question. Was my turn after she died or before? I was only going around because the caster was in the way. If she isn't I'd go straight at the monster.
Muirdarcaien Daoilfghiaen |
Muirdarcaien moves straight at the remaining enemy with what's left of his fury.
Weaving past his friends and allies and past the weird lava statue he rolls past the flesh thing and positions himself on the backside flanking with the lizard-snake-man.
power attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 132d4 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17
GM Harker |
Muir's movement will provoke an attack of opportunity.
Muirdarcaien strides past his allies to set up a flank with Xien, leaving himself open to an attack from the creature that misses. The barbarian then swings his weapon, but the fleshy thing dodges it just in time to avoid the strike.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Alexandria and Growler
Xien |
If Xien cannot stop the lava, he sets himself into defensive mode and laugh at the beasts waiting for them to disappear.
+6 AC for total 27. I will not post a lot due to Eastern holidays. I want to destroy all this twisted place after retrieving the idol
Alexandria-Shardonz |
Alexandria will take a running jump over the closest lava stream.
here goes nothing
acro: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (11) - 4 = 7
she will then raise her cross bow and shootn at the remaining creature
attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 4 = 17
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
GM Harker |
Tiger Stabilization: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 1 - 2 = 17
Despite its injuries, Tiger's breathing becomes steady while Growler looks around for someone to heal his companion.
Alexandria successfully jumps over a lava trench and shoots her crossbow at the remaining creature, but her shot misses by inches.
The fleshy creature attempts to claw Xien again, but cannot penetrate his armor. Immediately afterwards, it disappears into thin air.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Combat Over
You can now take 10 to jump the lava if you wish.
Wasting no time, Xien dead lifts the idol off of the altar and it immediately stops ejecting lava. Holding it close, the nagaji can see that the idols arms can be manipulated up and down.
As the lava stops, everyone hears cries of terror, anguish, and the sounds of metal-on-metal combat erupt from the idol, but they quickly dissipate as if a door was being closed inside it.
Xien Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
The shadowy figures on the relief behind the altar continue to move, seemingly whispering in the back of your minds to put the idol back and sacrifice your team members to Moloch.
Alexandria-Shardonz |
Or it went back where it came from my Barbarian friend.
Alexandria makes her way to the injured tiger and lays her hands on the it.
may the Dawnflower bless you and heal you brave cat.
As she finishes her holy symbol glows and the warm light moves through her body and down her arms penetrating the cat.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Alexandria-Shardonz |
not sure that will be enough so again with the healing of the cat.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Growler Bloodlet |
The first heal was enough to get her up and give her positive points, please save your heal.
Tiger wakes up and stands, though not in her usual graceful way. Growler spends a few minutes scratching her behind the ears and checking her over. He retrieves his bow and sheaths both it and his axe.
"What now?" he asks.
Quiella |
"We take the idol all the way back axis the desert, don't we?"
Are there rooms we haven't been to yet?
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Harker |
There appears to be no additional unexplored rooms. The lava in this room is slowly draining away, and the relief behind the altar continues to whispers dark things to the back of your mind.
On the woman's body, you find a presumably magical wand, a suit of scale mail, a masterwork light mace, a masterwork whip, and a well-made cloak.
Let me know if you want to do anything else, otherwise you can return with the idol.
Quiella |
I think Xien wants to destroy the place of possible.

Xien |
"What's that relief?" Xien looks at Alexandria hoping for an explanation "[b]We should destroy the altar, the relief and any wicked remaining track of Moloch[b]" raising a blessing Xien tries to consacrate the place and destroy any symbol of Moloch other than the idol, beginning by the relief.
Assuming it will take some time, Xien will later get back to the desert and release the idol at Absalom with the rest of the team.
Thanks for waiting! I am back
Quiella |
Quiella aids Xien in his attempts to destroy the shrine.
GM Harker |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Xien, Muirdarcaien, and Quiella all work together to destroy the relief and any religious references to Moloch. As the last piece of the relief falls to the floor, the smoky forms fly out and screech loudly before fading into smoke and disappearing. Destroying the altar and the rest of the iconography does not provoke the same supernatural reaction. While taking your time to break things properly, whatever lava is left in the trenches all flows out of the room.
The group has relatively little trouble transporting the idol out of the temple, the dwarven blacksmith Vulcus is long gone when you return to the forge, and most of the lava has flown out of that room as well. The broken bridge present some problems with transporting the statue, but the group manages to get it across the obsidian bench crossing the broken portion without anyone getting hurt.
Returning to civilization and eventually to Absalom, you are congratulated for your good work and the statue is turned over to chroniclers and sages to study its planar powers and the heritage of the archdevil Moloch. Moreover, you receive word that the Qadiran sandstorms have receded, the fire creatures that have already wandered through the portal disperse, and the cult has quieted in Qadira once more.
The End
