To be specific, the jingasa now provides a +1 deflection bonus to AC instead of a luck bonus and the negate a crit is once EVER instead of once per day.

The totally overnerfed it.

To be fair, when I found out about it, I thought it was a bit too good.
Jingasa is sold and dusty rose ioun stone purchased, along with a wayfinder to put it in.

It was probably a bit under-priced, but now it's just terrible. A non-upgradeable ring of protection +1 that takes up your head slot and has a one time ability that tacks on an extra 3000 gp to the price.

Yeap, they should have dropped the price when they took out the nerf bat.

I don't suppose there is anything giving luck bonuses to AC still out there? Luckstone helps saves but not AC.

I picked my occultist because the party make-up was leaning heavily martial. If you think diplomacy is important (or we go to the waitlist and the make-up changes), I can switch to my Paladin though.

So long as at least one of us can do some diplomacy and the rest try to avoid offending too many guests, hopefully we are okay.

Having a broad skill base is good.

To be honest, most of my PFS play has been low tier. In my small experience I tend to find the mid-higher tier stuff puts some different challenges on parties, so having variety to be able to face a good mix of challenges is important.

Ok, first of all my apologies for not posting sooner. I also apologize for not reading Shonne's readied action spoiler. I somehow missed it.

Next, thanks for adding the awesome icons! I will try to spend more time looking for appropriate images for future encounters.

All that said, I think I'll go ahead and apply Shonne's readied action as intended. This will short-circuit the encounter, but in a way I think is very appropriate. Please excuse the retconning. There will be things to hit with swords later!

Doesn't seem like it was necessary for Vrald's attack, but remember that Altair is using a reach weapon, so Vrald was flanking the last dervish.

@Altair I'd not worry too much, level 5 is a gnarly one for rogues, you have dropped 2 BAB points over the full BAB classes.
That said with +3 to hit and damage from your dex and finesse training, you are doing okay. Unless you have flanking you'll never do a heap of damage. Rogar and Vrald both got some lucky crits in and Power Attack really amps up the fighter damage.

You may want to double check your attack and damage bonuses though
EBS should presumably be +6 (+3 dex and +3 BAB_ not +7 and damage +3 ()from dex) rather than +4 (unless you have a magic one that is. Same with the to-hit on your shorbow. The thrown dagger at +5 would appear to be one too low.

@Vrald - The extra +1 comes from the spear being darkwood. Darkwood items are considered masterwork, same thing with the bow. The +1 damage on the EBS comes from being a two-handed weapon and thus doing 1.5*Dex to damage as per the FAQ.

Wow, nice. I can see why the elven branched spear is suddenly popular, a finessable two handed weapon. I guess the curved blade is also used for that purpose.

Altair, you should be able to afford a +2 Dexterity belt any time now. That's going to be the best offensive boost you can buy right now

I planned on the belt, but it will be at least one more adventure before I have the gold for that. Had to get the handy haversack and efficient quiver first so that this character didn't have encumbrance penalties.

I have to take at least 8 levels of rogue to get the 2nd scout archetype feature. But I'm wondering if I keep going with rogue or switch to something else like fighter for the bonus feats. Maybe rogue 9/fighter 2 by level 11.

I'm going for a flying skirmisher, picking up Spring Attack at level 7 and Wings of Air at level 9 for feats.
