Boram covers the other rhino in terrible heat and acid burns. It rages and breaks free of the vines, then rushes up to Rasamoro. The latter is entirely prepared, and cuts at the large animal as it moves near.

Rasamoro's katana cuts through wool and hide, and a trickle of dark red blood stains the bushes. Cacumattus' shot misses, but Rhanloi's shot is true, lodging a flaming arrow in the flank of the Rhino. Marra then manages to stab the throat of the rhinoceros.

Two zookeepers come running up, and quickly manage to control the calmly sitting rhinoceros. Come quick! The Menagerie! They're releasing all the animals, you've got to help us!

"All the animals are loose? That can't be good, ut luckily we have a bunch of friendly fey folk so perhaps they can be reasoned with? I wonder if they are tame? My cousin Lolly was a Druid and she could always talk the animals around, especially horses, and especially if she had apples...I wonder if the kitchens hre have apples? I could use an apple pie. Have you ever eaten a REALLY good apple pie? I can make a great apple pie, did you see if there was an apple tree around here? Maybe cousin Marra can find some. Might get some apples and see if we can mollify the animals"

A shifting mass of tents and canvas tarpaulins covering dozens of pens and enclosures of varying sizes is pressed up against the lodge’s western wall. Wagons bearing food and supplies brought in from the city are parked nearby. Other wagons contain caged enclosures like those that used in a traveling circus. Larger tents cover metal cages of enormous size. To the east, the grass is compacted from regular foot traffic to the training grounds.

The only presence are outside of the cages are two zookeepers. One of them moves towards a large lion, still in its cage, while the other one approaches the PCs and says, Everything under control here, thanks to you! I did see some large sphinx run off toward the wall of names, though!

DC 20 Sense Motive or DC 25 Perception:

Hmm. These zookeepers do behave a bit suspiciously. Why is that second zookeeper getting his keys out?

Marra rushes up to the zookeeper as Boram fires his arrows in. The halfling duo manage massive damage: the recoil from the arrow open up a good enough opportunity for Marra to deal a devastating stab, though the zookeeper somehow manages to survive it. That's one tough zookeeper.

Rhanloi's follow-up misses, while Scarlet tries to take care of the other zookeeper, dealing a deep cut that makes the zookeeper's moves more sluggish.

Cacumattus manages to find a conduncting piece of metal on the zookeeper, and sets his hair up straight. Rasamoro seals the deal by stabbing him in the back, sending the man bleeding to the ground. Down there, he changes shape into a creature half-lion, half-woman-with-cats-eyes-and-sharp fangs.

The other zookeeper follows suit - he, or rather she, changes shape as well to reveal the same half-lion-half-woman form, bandishing a dagger.

There's a lot of things to still, the place is a big chaos. You can check the moving statue, move to a different area (you're now in the south, you can go NE (though you've already been there) or NW)

The lamias each had daggers on them, that seem to be magical
