[PFS] #5–08: The Confirmation (Inactive)

I'm throwing in my hat to run The Confirmation via Play by Post.

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

The Rules

1. PFS legal characters only
2. PFS legal equipment only
3. Preference given to 1st level characters
4. Preference given to characters without prior game credit
5. A total of 5 players will be selected from the applicants
6. 24 hour maximum time allowed between posting your actions
7. Unresponsive players will have their actions skipped when more than 24 hours have elapsed
8. If all players post their actions, the scenario will advance and the 24 hour timer will reset

I have a 0xp Samsaran Blob with a few Boons. I'll run him​ as a Cleric for this so we have some healing.

Any reason you're only taking 5? The scenario was designed for 6 so taking only 5 increases the difficulty (and eliminates any adjustments).

Nagagorjo Slitherscale

Skills: Perception (1 rank +3 class +3 Wis +2 racial) = 9
Saves: +2 racial saving throw bonus against mind-affecting effects and poison
Melee: Unarmed Strike is a bludgeoning unarmed attack, Bite is a bludgeoning, piercing and slashing natural attack. I'm happy to let you reskin your unarmed strike as a bite but bear in mind it doesn't benefit from any feat or ability that applies to a Bite attack.

Kronug, the Raven, last of his tribe has finally finished his three years of training with the Pathfinder Society and is ready for his Confirmation.

Yarrr, Pirate Rob here. Kronug is my newest PFS character. He has 0xp. I have both played and GMed The Confirmation before and am happy to step aside if that's at all an issue.

^ same. I have played and GMed this multiple times.

EDIT: Will have to update Cleric stuff tomorrow. He'll be pretty run-of-the-mill, though. 6 Channels/Day, a few Knowledges, maybe an offensive ranged Domain Power.

I count 3 chronicle boons on our Schrödinger's Cleric. Is this character slow experience path?
Previous playthrough experience is fine provided you're submitting a level 1 character. Evergreen and all that.
I'm going with 5 players since it's one less person to wait for in combat. I'm sure you're gonna be able to make it work.

Kronug, the Raven

Equipment: Don't forget the encumbrance rules! I count 10 lbs rope, 9 lbs longspear, 1 lbs thieves' tools, 1 lbs haramaki, 1 lbs alchemist's fire, 1 lbs holy water. This puts you at maximum light load, discounting gold weight which can be assumed to be carried in platinum if desired, otherwise weighing 1 lbs per 50 coins.
However, don't forget the weight of any occultist's implements. Any additional implements you start with beyond your free holy symbol relic cost 10 gp and weigh 1/2 lbs unless it's already duplicated by another equipment item that costs more than 10 gp, in which case use that item's stats.
You're fine to drop stuff at the start of combat provided you have it in your hand. Otherwise it's a move action to draw an item, then a free action to drop it. Until you go to 23 lbs or under, you're at medium load, have -3 check penalty on skills and move at 20 ft. speed.

Disregard this, I went and checked the actual boon sheets for the listed Chronicles, all kosher. I noted you don't have either (bonus) bulley, child of the streets, or killer trait listed, but since your character is currently a primordial blob of cleripotential ooze, I'm not too worried.

"Ease of Faith" was the option I went with,
because at the time I was thinking of making a Sorcerer (which he'll probably still turn out to be.

Ack. Clerical error (my arcanists version). I switched it out for Ill Omen. I switched the scroll to Ray if Enfeeblement and purchased the spell component pouch. Thanks!

2. Confirming you're spending your Boon from #2-22: Eyes of the Ten, Part IV on +2 Wisdom for Akat for a 10, 10, 12, 16, 16, 16 spread?
3. Still awaiting build and equipment verification before confirmation.

Does anyone have a wand of cure light wounds?

I have one from my Welcome to Pathfinder Boon. But it only has 5 charges, and I only have a 40% chance of activating it.

This is the PC formerly known as Akat.

I decided not to risk such a heavily Booned character with such an under resourced setup.

I'll be playing Pelotita instead, a 0xp Female Halfling Cleric (Ecclesitheurge) of Benorus.

Everything is laid out much more nicely on her profile now ^_^

New character confirmed, and I can only assume this halfling cleric will suddenly have an epiphany of wisdom after three missions or so. I note that you have the Observant trait listed but Liberty's Edge displayed next to your character's name, I'll assume that's an oversight and they're actually a Grand Lodge faction character.

Sorry, I made this character when the hybrid classes were first released and haven't touched him since. Not sure what I was thinking because you are the second person in this thread alone to find problems with him. I'm fixing him now and he should be ready in a minute.

Thanks for catching that. I do want her Liberty's Edge, and to start filling out her Faction Journal Card starting this game if possible, so I went ahead and swapped out the conflicting trait for Seeker (essentially the same thing, but Social instead of Faction).

Confirmed for 4/5 players required for this Chronicle, awaiting one more interested player before beginning.

I'm fine doing 4, if everyone else is. I'd actually prefer it to 5, due to the 4-player adjustment.

I don't have a problem with 4. Either way.

I am ambivalent on the matter.

It matters not to me, if the rest are ready to proceed I'm game.
