This language understand I cannot. Waki adds with disappointment as he moves forward for a better look to either side after waiting for Eldon's check.
Crios Greymantle |
Crios is hanging back but he doesn't speak dwarven either. I think the group is lacking that language. Let's hope it isn't a warning about the room filling with colorless and odorless save or die poison with a dc of 25 or so. Yeah, that would be bad. ;)

A statue in the eastern end of the room appears to be...rotting?
Not really in a great place for me to edit the map. Expect a more detailed update tomorrow.
Crios Greymantle |
Take 10 for 18 on know arcana.
Crios moves up to Waki and Eldon and inspects the rotting statue. "It's a poorly preserved rock hydra. They used taxidermy instead of magic but they did a terrible job. "
Then he looks down the hall and continues, "This room looks to open up to another pathway. Let's head back to Kivuli and see what is behind that door near him before we explore over here." and Crios moves back to the room with Kivuli.

Orophin weeps a single tear for the dead hydra.
"An interesting choice of art work... surely mere orcs could not slay such a beast..."
Waki Huro |
Waki looks at Crios with confusion.
Rock Hydra what is? Statue of a hydra created?
Waki will venture forth a bit further, now even more on alert.

Crios shakes his head and sighs quietly while thinking to himself, I better inform Kivuli that the group is dividing despite my suggestion to wait. I don't want him left alone.
He travels the rest of the way down the stairs to Kivuli and quietly informs him of what is happening.
Kivuli Greyfeather |
With a small chuckle, the wayang shares in Tien, "Sometimes I forget that my team may also struggle to see me. I really thought the plan was to clear the east wing before moving to the center. Thank you for seeking me out. Let's return to them before the orcs find them.
Kivuli will ensure he hastens back to the main group with Crios.
Waki Huro |
Waki will pause as he waits to see if the group wants to backtrack to the east wing.

It seems like the party intends on regrouping and re-assessing your plan. I'll let you have a chance to make that decision. When you're ready to explore something new or desire any clarifications from me, please let me know.
Orophin Telemnarn |
Orophin joins the others in a regouped mass.
"Wise thinking, orcs sometimes attack enmass, and we could be easily overwhelmed if caught strung out in this warren."
Crios Greymantle |
Once the group gathers again, Crios quietly explains his thinking, "Well said Orophin. We will surely explore the entirety of this place eventually, but I think the best course of action is to sweep from out to in, securing rooms as we go. I believe Kivuli wanted to check that eastern door before we put it behind us for that very reason, in case it held danger that could come from our flank. Someone certainly thought it was valuable at some point."
Waki Huro |
"Agreed, wise it would be ... no doors behind us we leave ."
Eldon García |
Noticing he has moved to far away from the others, Eldon undoes his steps and sets himself with the rest of the party to explore the southeast of the complex.

Crios Greymantle |
Noticing Necress' stiffness as she waits silently, mostly because he finds her oddly captivating, Crios silent speaks to her, exaggerating his mouth movements slightly as he does so, "I am not used to having such skilled shadow walkers as these on a mission. I am quite glad they are so perceptive and discreet, as so far they have steered us well past two hostile encounters with not a scratch on our collective hides. The waiting can be quite stressful though, if I'm being honest. "
He tries to smile reassuringly, knowing the only true relief will come upon their safe completion of their mission.

Inspection shows that while this door shows signs of forced entry, the damage to the locking mechanism seems ancient compared to several more recent dents and dings. Intricate dwarven designs of a family of dwarves have been damaged by a combination of blunt force and application of fire to the point where only one is still recognizable.
The door itself contains an arrow trap but has long since ran out of ammunition.
Crios Greymantle |
Crios and Kivuli scout the room. The auras, are emanating near the base of a defiled Torag, the site rededicated to an old orc god. At its base is a bloody alter, trickles of blood flowing to the central pool in the room.
Necress examines the statue with interest, having heard this tale.
"The statue depicts Kols, one of Torag's sons, demigod of duty. The inscription retells a tale where Kols successfully turned Droskar into a snake and nearly strangled him before Droskar slipped away," she says.
This is frustrating to see such desecration. First an altar to Torag was rededicated to Nulgreth and then Necress pointed out the statue we found with the knife was that of Kols, one of Torag's sons. While I can't identify this dwarven family because of the damage, it is reasonable to assume this is at least somehow related to the darven gods. Damn the orcs and their foul ways. I hope we can somehow purge the taint from this place to honor the dwarven people who built this place. It seems the right thing to do.

Eldon opens the door as quietly as he can. The party looks in and sees a pair of orcs sit on either side of what appears to be a female orc that is on fire. The leftmost orc seems to be cooking a stirge on a skewer simply by holding it next to her. He wears a scimitar in a shoddy scabbard and sits on a large drum. The one to the right is scraping some unintelligible mark into the floor as he looks up at the newly opened door and asks impatiently, "Приносили ли вы обед?" Seeing the influx of light and shadows in the background, he shouts to his left, "Королева! Zrugo!" Seemingly hoping to get the attention of his compatriots.

Usually in a surprise round you get to move or std action, but not both. So I am not sure we can attack....yet.
Crios Greymantle |
Yep that's right. Just a standard or a move, though you can shift 5 feet in any round you don't actually move from what most GMs rule, though I am not sure of this when I read the rules. Also when you crit just roll damage one more time for a x2 multiplier, not 2 more times(I think you were looking at the SA damage and just did that by mistake).
Since the orcs are all flat footed you can move into flank for next round without provoking. I am not sure which orc is Thrash(but I think it is the one you are now flanking) but he will be able to act in the surprise round and if he is the one in melee he might attack you.
Crios shift 5 feet forward and to his left where he sees the Orc on fire. He snaps off 2 magic missiles at the burning humanoid from his staff before rushing into melee and taking a powerful swing at the fiery thing, channeling a fraction of his arcane ability to augment the damage.
Surprise round= 5'step (skip that if I can't do it and Crios will just move into melee and not cast magic missile/This will let him flurry during his regular turn)/Standard Action=activate staff(Or move if the 5' Step doesn't work as above)
Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 = 6
Regular round(when it comes up)=Move Action to rush(not charge) the fiery orc/Swift Action to activate Arcane Strike feat/Standard Action to Power Attack staff strike on fiery orc. Crios will try to get to a flank position if possible once the regular round starts, so the rogues can do their thing but I will see where people move after the surprise round ends before moving Crios on the board.

Yeah, surprise rounds are limited to a single move or standard action. A 5-foot step and a swift action are both fair game. Kivuli was in the doorway, so could likely do a "partial charge" for his action.
You must have a clear path toward the opponent, and nothing can hinder your movement (such as difficult terrain or obstacles). You must move to the closest space from which you can attack the opponent. If this space is occupied or otherwise blocked, you can't charge. If any line from your starting space to the ending space passes through a square that blocks movement, slows movement, or contains a creature (even an ally), you can't charge. Helpless creatures don't stop a charge.
If you don't have line of sight to the opponent at the start of your turn, you can't charge that opponent.
You can't take a 5-foot step in the same round as a charge.
If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.
We'll skip your 'regular initative' action for now, Crios.
Orophin casts bless, as Kivuli darts inward, plunging his blade a good seven inches into the nearest orc's sternum.

That is cool. I only wanted it in case I was absent for the regular round and I didn't want to hold things up since the group won initiative. I would actually like to make a minor adjustment to my stated regular round actions anyway, so this works better. :)

Waki Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Necress Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
From what I can find, it seems like the sonic damage would still apply to Necress...
Sonic: Sonic effects transmit energy to the target through frequent oscillations of pressure through the air, water, or ground. Sounds that are too high or too low for the humanoid ear to detect can still transmit enough energy to cause harm, which means that these effects can even affect deafened creatures. Sound effects can cause hit point damage, deafness, dizziness, nausea, pain, shortness of breath, and temporary blindness, and can detect creatures using batlike echolocation.
The overwhelming quantity of noise leaves Kivuli and Waki a bit worse for wear. You are stunned for one round.

Crios moves through Waki's space to avoid an AoO from Thrash, assuming it can treat something as a weapon.
With a quick one handed gesture and a short incantation, Crios casts a spell and his hand begins to crackle with magic energy. He holds the magical charge as he rushes forward, dodging through the space with a stunned Waki, and coming to a stop adjacent to both the orc that screamed and the burning one. "Eldon! The other drummer and the flaming one! Cut off their movement from your side and I'll cover this side! Crios yells!
