Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "I totally concur, we just need to be careful of Soviet or DPRAA troops and crossing the border. Once we get going, I will speak with the women and see if they know anything."

As Willy Nelson would say, On the road again, Smith says to the ladies, "Дамы, мы приносим извинения за плохое обращение, но мой Родезийский SAS кодекс чести не позволяет прекрасных дам, как и сами быть обманутым недобросовестными людьми или лучше сказать, ваш муж врут недобросовестными людьми. Мы надеемся, что вы комфортно там, и мы будет приносить вам в безопасное место в ближайшее время. Кстати, вы случайно не знаете, почему это странно вообще хотели бы, чтобы ваш муж убил, и вы облавы, скорее всего, для ГУЛАГа?"

Russian

Spoiler:
Ladies, we are sorry for the mistreatment but my Rhodesian SAS honor code doesn't allow fine ladies as yourselves to be lied to by dishonest men or better said your husband being lied to by dishonest men. We hope you are comfortable back there and we will be bringing you to safety soon. By the way, would you happen to know of why this weird general would want to have your husband killed and you round up most likely for the GULAG?

Savage Rifts RotRwT

The woman and her daughter merely shake their heads. If they know anything, they aren't saying or are just too scared to. At the moment, though, Smith's words seem to placate them and they somewhat relax. That's when the woman mutters out. "Tthh...thank..ya.. you.." in very broken English.

If you guys want to play out crossing the border as a sub-mission, we can do that, otherwise we're free to move to the next step which is either you plan a mission or Home gives you one...

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Well I think we need to get this folks to safety. Then I think I want to swing back around the warehouse that Majors directed me to. There might be something left at the scene to let us know what was up. I also think we need to report Majors betrayal to Control post haste.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "We should get these people to safety, check in, report Majors as disloyal or at the bare minimum compromised. Then go back and start slotting commies."

"Alright then, anyone got any wounds need stitching before the shooting starts again?"

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "Yes, ma'am, I do." as he shows her where he had been shot.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Medicine/First Aid DC for Smith's damage is 17, for Mac's is 20, Elise's 15...

Elise works on patching up Smith first, then moving onto Mac before checking her own wounds
Smith: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Mac: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Carter: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

I don't think anyone took wounds so - if it's just Vitality you're down it should restore 6 each. If anyone is down Wounds it's D4+1 restored.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "Thanks a lot. We best get going."

I think the concensus is we want to hit the compound where majors took Mac.. which I am completely cool with. Or do we drop the women off first?

I thought the plan was to drop the women off first, but it depends if we think they'll be clearing out the compound quickly?

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Thanks for the patch up Elise. Right we need to get going and drop these two off somewhere safe. Any ideas?
Macomb just took chances getting these women out of the area by the warehouse he is reluctant to return there with them still around.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

It makes the most sense to go back to HQ and drop them off. The likelihood that Majors would still be at that location in two days time is scarce.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Sounds like you guys are ready to return to HQ for Mission End, yes?

Sounds like, though if the other two want to go back, I will do babysitting duty. I doubt that they'll be actively searching for the hostages.

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Split the party again. I would be up for it if everyone else is. At this point I feel like a teenager out past curfew. I know I'm going to catch hell when we go back to HQ so putting it off is very appealing.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Dragging Majors back would seem to be a good idea, but I feel bad leaving Elise out of the fun.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

There are other options so that Elise can come with. You can attempt to arrange for pick up for the two refugees or at least a guard until you can get back to HQ...

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith calls for a pick up on the radio... "Juliet, Lima, Foxtrot... We have Golfs and need them extracted, over"

So that a team will pick up the ladies and Elise can come with.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Normally you would have to roll Networking/Contact to attempt to get a hold of your Contact to arrange pickup, but for the sake of gameplay, I'll allow it to happen.. this time. I also noticed that none of you have a contact listed other than Natalie Burns... everyone should have started with one Acquaintence level Contact for free. We never used them, so it never came up, but there you go. You guys are free to add one to your characters. Or... if you wish, you can upgrade your connection to Natalie to Associate.

GC Rolls:

Response Time: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7

Smith gets on the radio and eventually gets a hold of Natalie Burns, their behind the scenes handler. She arranges for a local team of agents to pick up the woman and her daughter and return them to your temporary HQ in Pakistan. Their ETA to you is 7 hours. You have that much time to prepare for your assault on the warehouse...

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Razor takes a moment to procure a local roadmap from a convenience store and traces out both the route that Majors forced him to drive and in a different color the most direct route from their current location to the warehouse he left Majors.
Do you need a roll for the above?

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Knowledge Check DC 20 with an additional +2 for getting the map first and Synergy Bonus from Drive. Both Elise and Smith can assist if they wish.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith tops off his magazines and tries to help with orientation:

Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Knowledge: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 2 + 2 = 25
Bonuses for INT + Map + Drive also add any help bonuses from the others aid.

Natural 20!

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Nice Threat! Would you like to spend an AP to get more info?

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Yes why not almost done with the mission anyways. I will spend my action die.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Mac and Smith pour over the map, each one adding his expertise while Elise looks on. While Smith's forte is more with trees than streets, he does offer some insight. While drawing on the map, they notice that besides the roads, there is also a sewer line entrance marked about 100 yards to the north of the warehouse. Mac guesses that this line will lead directly under the warehouses with openings to the pavement surrounding them. This shortcut could save some time on foot, or be used for other things.

Elise is listening in, "Sewers, you guys take me to all the most glamorous places... Might be worth at least a walk through, you never know, we might luck out and they'll have drain that heads directly down there."

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

Sorry Elise but I think we may need to check out the sewer route. We are kinda wanted by the local army here right now. Any route that avoids detection is preferred.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "The sewer route seems a good idea especially to get the drop on them."

Savage Rifts RotRwT

So it looks like the plan is for Infiltration via sewers.. an other prep we want to make or go in guns blazing?

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith will do a recce around the complex, using stealth and his binoculars to see how many enemies are around, preferably waiting till nightfall.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Later on that evening, Smith makes his way to the warehouse complex, through the sewers and find himself on an outcropping that overlooks part of the area, just off the main road.

Make a Sneak/Hide check and then a Search/Perception check please..

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Sneak (night) 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 2 = 24
Notice/Awareness 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Are Elise and Mac staying back and waiting for Smith's report? Also, since Smith is actively using his sense to recon, it is a Search/Perception roll, so the total is only 15..

GC Rolls:

Guards Notice/Awareness, Cluttered, Quiet: 1d20 + 3 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 4 - 2 = -1

Not expecting any sort of activity, the guards watching over the warehouses are busy playing card games, smoking a cigarette or actually sleeping when Smith makes his way around, counting approximately ten in all. He gets close enough to hear that they are speaking accented English to each other, though he can't seem to place the accent other than Eastern European. They are wearing light armor under jackets and carrying submachineguns. Four patrol the perimeter in two-man groups and the other six mill about the two warehouses.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith back with the group says in a whisper, "We could probably do this very quietly and maybe get Majors without firing a shot. It is weird that they were speaking English with one another even though they are Eastern European. I would think they would be speaking German or Russian."

Elise will let Smith reconnoitre first.

"Are we sure of the situation here, I don't know what Major's game is, but I'd rather not risk taking down allies or a neutral party?"

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "Mac said, that Majors pulled a weapon on him to leave us behind in the middle of a firefight. This whole situation is FUBAR. If you want we can go in all stealthy and kidnap him."

Male Irish American Soldier 2/ Wheelman 2 38/38 V 16 W

I did mention to Majors that I didn't understand why he wanted to kill the women. He said he had other plans for them but didn't explain. We need to ask some questions of Majors or someone else there. We need answers. Somehow I think this all goes back to that cave.

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith says, "Majors broke the code and the faith. The guys with him may possibly friendlies. Since when do armies quartermaster themselves with body armor? Especially in the tropics. Dehydration may be a serious problem."

"I'm not saying I'm not with you, just checking we're sure of ourselves." Carter falls onto the defensive, aware she's the outsider here and doesn't have the rapport that Smith and Mac have.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Loving this interaction you guys! Keep it up!

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith smiles and pats Carter on the back and says, "Well as long as the First 17th cousin is with us, let's take Majors back. My name is the same as the still president of Rhodesia."

"Um, okay. Let's move."

Savage Rifts RotRwT

OKay, so the decision is made.. do you have a plan or are we winging it? I.E.. roll for Infiltration or simply stealth or straight up assault...

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

I would suggest going in through the tunnels stealthy like, Mac at with the sniper if it gets dicey and Elise could come with me but go right when I go left to cover more ground.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Hey look, I made a Map You guys are in the area marked S, for Sewer Entrance or Start, as you see fit.. Place yourselves somewhere near there...

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

Smith goes stealthily through the sewers again. Sneak 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Is Elise and Mac still with us? Want to see what their plans are as well for assaulting the warehouse...

Male Caucasian Scout 3 Snoop 1

I think last weeks board snafu was the problem

Elise will follow Mac's plan, though she's not trained at stealth.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Capped at 15
