Guh I'm back again. The electric company cut the fiberwires where I live and I had no internet for 2 weeks. I'm sorry for the wait. Am I still able to continue with you all?
If you've moved on I understand and sorry for the wait:/

Wonky's last five d20 rolls of ineptitude: 2, 7, 4, 9, 2....
Let's keep counting!

These men hired to attack you, along with the mysterious man who showed up half-dead on the trading post's doorstep, are meant to bring the conflict with the bandits to a climax.
I'd been worried that our momentum has been faltering, so I put together this twist in the usual Kingmaker plot to hasten us on the path towards founding the kingdom.
Paval Fagyaszt |
Sorry for being away so long.
With the downtime of the site some time ago, the ridiculous work load at work and spending a lot of time figuring out my own next steps to get out of that s$#!ty job and move to something better, I've been a bit distracted.
I should be back now, though I'm still figuring how to get to where I want to go (Simply put, I want to get into teaching but for that I need to get into a re-education program. For that I need a school to sponsor me, as that is how the system works).
Wonky Prong, Jr |
We miss you, Paval!
I agree that the Recent Unpleasantness v2.0 disrupted all of my games, with some of them rebooting rather slowly.
Exciting that you want to go back to school!

Any opinions on what to do with the prisoners?
As I see it, we can:
1.) Kill them (though it seems bad form, at this point).
2.) Take them with us, and add them to the team of Indentures at the Post.
3.) Leave them here as Indentures to Kavken and the new temple (and hope they don't get it into their heads to murder him and run for it).
"Crack-jawed" Ahto Ulrych |
I, as a player, think it is a good idea to interrogate the Stag Lord.
Ahto, however, is more interested in holding trial, documenting his crimes, and carrying out the sentence.
Teuni-Hexa |
Sorry for the wait guys, been dealing with countless issues at work and home and haven't been on a network for weeks. Not one I didn't have to pay bs amounts for. Is Hexa still viable or?
Again I apologize for the wait and would like to rejoin if possible!
Wonky Prong, Jr |
It wouldn't be the same group without you, Hexa! I love this game for its consistently-relaxed pace - I hope it's not too relaxed for everyone.
As far as strategy goes, I love the character choices and I agree with them 100%. Wonky is a bit sheepish about executions and the like, but thinks that we need to get back to Oleg's ASAP.
Teuni-Hexa |
Thanks everyone, will post as soon as I'm able. Long days at work are leaving me groggy. Lots of post to go over and I too like the relaxed posting in this game. Glad to be back! I missed Hexa and all of you as well! :D

I'm not sure if I'm not making my suggestion clear in character or not, so I want to lay it out step by step.
We are at the Trading Post, and have arrested the man known as the Stag Lord. Through the interrogation, he has indicated that he has been overthrown, and a new brigand is charge who is even more ruthless. Add that to the information we received when we captured the other two bandits at the Erastilian temple, we know that there is a plan to assault and destroy the Trading Post.
Paval and Wonky have both suggested that we check the Post for signs of sabotage from within and make any repairs to the fortifications that need doing before the bandit assault begins.
Ahto acknowledges this, and suggests that they go and check out the post while he has all the Indentures occupied watching the trial of the Stag Lord. That way, if any of the Indentures are insiders for the bandits, they won't be able to commit any further acts of sabotage, or cover up any evidence of their actions.
As for prepping the Post for battle, the only ones whose time is being taken up by the trial are Ahto, the Indentures, and any character that feels the need to stand guard over the prisoner. If not, everyone else can go and search and prepare uninhibited with what is happening. This also include Captain Garess and the garrison of soldiers.
In other words, the Trial serves two purposes. Yes, it is a legal proceeding, but just as importantly, it is intended to be a distraction for those who are most likely to be acting as double agents.
Anyway, I hope that clarifies things. If I am misunderstanding the responses, please let me know, either here or in character.
Wonky Prong, Jr |
Sounds good to me! Wonky just doesn’t like being part of the whole death and damnation thing.
DM Vayelan |
My apologies for the slow down in the game. I imagine this time of year is very chaotic for many people. I will try to get the pace going again.
Meanwhile, a player from one of my other games has expressed interest in joining this campaign because the second (of two) games they are in is dying out. They are very enthusiastic and post very regularly.
Obviously, before I extend an invite, I wanted to consult you guys.
Wonky Prong, Jr |
It sounds like it would be a good idea to add another character. We haven't heard from Hexa in quite some time.
I vote yes.
The Vermilion Vixen |
Thanks for the invite! (Or rather, for letting me get away with inviting myself.) And what's this about capture? Did I not get a chance to change into my costume so I can fight better? Seriously... Vigilante talents are pretty good—almost to the point I'd rather skip the dip.
What level am I? Verge of promotion sounds like a good level.

Glad to be here, CL!
Created a Lv.3 vigilante with a 12-Level plan. When I organize my profiles correctly, Addy and VV will have different alignments, different skill bonuses, and different attack/damage rolls. Basically, you want Addy to talk to people and VV to kick them. She has the weakest body and strongest limbs... especially if she reaches Lv.12.
@Vayelan, how many starting bucks do I get?
Wonky Prong, Jr |
Welcome, Addy! Very much looking forward to welcoming you to the team!
Addy Lane |
@Players, thanks for the warm welcome!
...
@GM,
Option 2, please! (Getting captured is starting to feel old hat. Both you and CL have seen me start a game as a damsel in distress.)
...
HP question: is it full HP at level 1 or roll all levels, including 1? Regardless, I'm taking the never-roll option, gaining 5 HP from the d8 every time.
&
I'd like GM approval on an item: stiletto boots, modified as natural weapon group.
• Versatility Modification = 500g per boot, makes the boots martial weapons in he weapon group of my choice. (I choose Natural, which includes IUS, the idea being that only someone with Improved Unarmed Strike can use these boots without penalty.)
• Masterwork = 300g per pair, though I lack TWF, I intend to eventually spend 10,000g per boot for +1 Fortuitous, and Addy will work toward Combat Reflexes, Vicious Stomp and Great Trip.
It should be noted that I could save 1000g and get masterwork gauntlets, but I'd rather have Addy kicking than punching. I like the look. (LINK if you missed it the first time.)
Of course, I'm asking if I can have the boots and use them as the equivalent to gauntlets regarding the Fist of the Avenger talent. (IUS with damage bonus, whether bare-knuckle or with-gauntlet.)
The Vermilion Vixen |
Just about ready now! I still need to add the backstory (a two-parter / half in each profile), and I goofed the CHA mod under skills.
But anyway, Addy has Bluff, which is something I think she'll need to infiltrate a gang. Addy is a better bluffer than VV, but she should infiltrate as her masked vigilante persona.
...
Will await answer on HP and boots, then make a few tweaks.
After that, I'm ready to jump in!

Here's a thought:
The Vixen could have (through contacts) gotten wind of a plot to undermine the party's mission and decided that she needed to intervene (perhaps due to a hatred for, or rivalry with, one of the involved nobility). She finds the trail of the bandits and has been stalking them from behind, waiting for a good opportunity to sneak in at night a cause a little mayhem in their camp.
This happens to be the same night coming up, the one after we found the bandits.
That way, our meeting is something of a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". The Vixen could even steal away in the night, only to show up at the post as Addy - just another traveler looking for a place to stay, or maybe a job.
Addy Lane |
I like that^!
@GM,
I see I get a 3rd trait for the backstory. I came up with one, so I'll add that and will tweak my stats a bit—most likely knocking STR down to 17 for either a better CHA mod or 15 in DEX so I can have TWF without dipping in Brawler.
That said, a Brawler dip is tempting. The improv archetype (hinyasi) lets me start with both IUS and Catch Off-Guard, meaning I won't need to modify the stilettos and can still take Vicious Stomp. I can also do two-hand damage with chairs and such. But the best part is Battle cry at Lv.5. (I have Perform Orator, and could use the feat through Martial Flex.)
The backstory I came up with may involve some improv weapons. (I'm just about to write the action.) If so, I will dip once, and dip again later if I feel a need for TWF. (No bonus feat at Brawler 2 with this archetype.)

The back story is done, but written by hand. I won't use my work computer to go on Paizo, but I do have time to type using my Notes App in my phone. Here's part 1, which will be copy-pasted to Addy's profile.
Addison Lane is not your typical vigilante. Sure, she'd like to make the world a better place--but through art, not violence. Her parents were well-to-do merchants--and still are, mind you. Through her parents, Addy learned to deal with people. The way she talked mattered. The way she looked at people with her emerald eyes mattered, as did the way her vermilion curls lit up a room like a blaze, fixing all eyes on her freckley face.
That is the very effect Vikki Finn had on her.
Addy was nine. Vikki was ten. The two redheads passed as sisters, and were destined to be BFFs for life. Vikki was the prettier one. Her hair didn't frizz up like Addy's. The privilege to braid Vikki's fiery locks more than compensated for envy. As the playmates grew into their teens, Addy found herself craving the touch of her friend's rosy cheek. One day bathing in the river, she gazed into Vikki's deep blue eyes and declared, "Ye're a mermaid, Vikki Finn." Her friend replied, "Addy, you're a fox." How those words made Addy's heart pound! Surely, Vikki saw the beat rippling Addy's bared breast!
Alas, Vikki was betrothed to Gill Bluebeard. Such a waste that a previously-married man would have a virgin bride, the very maiden Addy lusted over since her hormones kicked in. But her strongest feeling for Vikki was--and still is, mind you--Love. Thus, Addy was elated to be the bridesmaid on her "sister's" big day! She held her tears until the day ended, and spent the wedding night preparing a work of art that would capture Vikki's beauty--a painting of the veiled bride in her snow-white gown. Certainly, Gill would hang this over his mantle.
...
This is about 30% of the story. The other 70% will go in VV's profile.
